In the earliest sense, "disco" was short for "any record played in a discotheque," a discotheque being a place where....they played records. So Booms is just being ultratraditionalist, an OG.
There's no "Other" on this poll. Back around 1998 or so, I figured I'd be voting for Eliot Spitzer for President in 2012. Nothing that has happened since has persuaded me otherwise.
That's what always mystified me about Vegas. What's the point if you're not into gambling? Sure, there's shows, and whatnot, but couldn't you find that stuff so many other places? What's the draw with Vegas if you don't care to play games for money, with the foreknowledge that you'll lose?
Not to me, I guess. I have no idea how much my sweetie makes. I've never asked. In one sense, I suppose she's more powerful, in that her work can have a drastic impact on some folk's lives; but I'm not sure she wields as much influence within her workplace as I do in mine, so that's a tossup too.
My guess is it was partly for show, and partly to communicate by shouting without everyone in earshot understanding...by speaking in code. One of the uses of "86" listed in the Wiki link I posted is "don't serve that customer any more drinks."
