Has anyone seen....that the Press on the Libyan issue is acting like a bunch of T-Ballers? They are either avoiding it or whiffle balling it. Also note how few press media Q and As we have had at recent?
After the GITMO decision and military trials decision.....then th Libyan decision.....the media has been kept outside of the White House and is now standing with the protestors......carrying signs.
It is the reason FOX is number one in the country.

Been thinking about President Obama 'open mike gaff'. Like Jesse Jackson during the campaign of 2008, President Obama was caught by a hot mike.
Only .............was this a staged event?
Common, does Charlie Sheen stage a event? Do the birds sing? The bees buzz? Does Charlie take a drink and a snort? Did Charlei really have three bimbos to party with? Could it be a staged event? You know I had to connect Charlie and the White House. Considering that his dad was Mr. President for a time in West Wing.))
But back to why I think that 'could be' this was a stage event.
In his comments, he asks those near......"Do you think that "we" are stupid..................". Who is the "we"? His base. Liberals and left DEMs that have been watching him, go to war (bad word choice there) Um......go to intervention in Libya. Watch Obamacare get sliced and diced by judges and legislations. Seen a historic mid term defeat. Seen his polls fall into low 40s.
He is losing liberal and DEM voters now. He is into his core base.
They did not think that this was what was going to happen. GITMO still open and military trails still the process. Late night talk hosts taking pot shots at him (and them indirectly). Anything for a giggle on those late nights. The Islamic world not in harmony with their liberal policies.
So?
Time to shore them up. By attacking Ran Paul and the conservative budget cuts.....that rest of the hot mike segment....President Obama still gave that Liberal true believer (and Dude in Copenhaggen) hope that liberal change was coming. That it could be financed and he was still their go to guy.
They could rest assured in President Obama to bring home the bacon of the Federal government.
So that is why I think it "could be" a staged event. Do I know for sure? No. But that reporter that wandered over the small group knows. If it was a staged event, he was in on it.
But the simple facts is.....President Obama still....after three years in office.....sees America as a country of "we" and 'they". He sees and works off the social warfare and layers that country has. He politically plays these against each other.
Do I care? Nah. If he decides to unite......maybe then. Till then, I am just part of the majority 'they'. When President Obama makes his "we" ....all Americans,then I will come around.
Seems like President Obama has choosen his sides in the Libyan rebellion. US aircraft are now conducting 'limited airstrikes' on the Qdaffi forces.
If one has ever been under a US airstrike....."limited" is not often a word heard to describe it. Being on the receiving end of a United State Air Strike....is a life altering moment of immense portion. Anyone that tells you differently, is fibbing.
But we need to remember that the White House is monitoring and likely approving every DoD press release on the Libyan no fly zone operations. The White House wants this to appear as if Toto and Dorthy were dropping things off the yellow brick road on the way back to Kansas. No one really gets hurt in a limit airstrike by Dorthy and Toto.
President Obama is trying to make this anything than what it is. It is not Congressional approved. It is not to take down Qdaffi. It is not put into power a group of questionable Islamist. And it is not United State led or built. All of which is inaccurate and illegal.
That President Obama can so justify supporting a UN resolution without some kind of Congressional approval.....just tells us he is more the foreign President, the US President.
Had GWB done this, the world....not to mention our Dude here.....would be using the warmonger name on him. Oh they did.....even when he had Congressional approval. But President Obama merits special consideration, because of the awarded Noble peace prize. Pretty hard to call a Noble winner, a warmonger.
I doubt the Noble committee had this in mind when they awarded it. Surprise, surprise...the President of the United State gets into these kinds of fist a cuffs at times.
But with his hands tied, all President Obama can do is order the planes up over Libya. Approve their missions and hope the rebells can pull it out. The UN again tied a President hands. The no boots on Liyba soil simply told Qdaffi to find the deepest bunker he can.....and to ride the thing out.
That is exactly what he is doing. The stalemate works to his favor. Every day he stalemates the rebells, the weaker their foreign political support becomes. He marginalizes them. Safe and warm in his bunker, he gain support from every hardline Islamist that wants to make the US and west into Crusaders.
So?
President Obama again places planes over the Libya desert. And in doing so.....with a issue that has little national security interest to the United States.....makes the US the world's policeman again.
There is a old adage in American politics.....that talking numbers is not the way to win elections. First off it is boring. It is the inside stuff of government that few want to get bogged down with. Number crunching out the a government budget is about as much fun as watching paint dry on the wall.
To prove my point.....Joe Biden seems to have fallen asleep during President Obama's most attempt to explain to the country the massive budget numbers and deficits. Ad how we are to get out of the situation. Borrow from the Tea Party thinking extensively during the address.....that this was about the next generation of Americans and their prosperity.
But that old Jumbin Joe has lost his jump. Does not bode well for our young President. If you number two is falling asleep during a numbers address, what do you think that the rest of the country is doing?
But this REP/ Tea Party strategy, to make the young Mr. Obama to address number woes. Is a smart one. They take him away from his strong suits of rhetoric and inprompt joking, to explaining number in the billions and trillions.....that no one sees, feels or touches. Well for the national Deficit Clock, that is spinning faster than a CPU out of control.
Let us face it....few here would know what a million dollars looks like much less a billion. President Obama is talking about the abstract, rather than our reality. Of our nickles and dimes. But this also plays into the Don's political strategy. The Don does know what a million and a billion does look like.
Keeping President Obama in the abstract vs the reality, is a way to win the 2012. Suddenly he becomes "out touch". He becomes the man that talks the budget but fails to correct the deficit. Because the solutions are a decade away.
Talking budget numbers and deficits.....might just have won the Don the White House. This was a key time in the Obama re-election campaign. The time when he was to define his run for a second term. Instead....he plays in the Don's backyard of numbers, heady and high finance, and big gov't/business.
Liegh....the Don is a humble man. Remember all the bankrupcy filings. They can humble a man.
Beside.....think of all the deals he can make sitting in the Oval Office. You want mega resort, I can get you a mega resort. You want a nuclear reactor, I can get you a nuclear reactor. You want a ICBM, I can you a ICBM. etc..etc...etc........

President Obama has trouble at home. We have heavy spring time flooding in the heart land. Likely soon FED disaster spending is going to be sent to the state effected. But that money comes form someplace.
He was spending 600m per day on Libya. And then you have the Iraq and Afghanistan spending. Billions each.
Obviously, there is lot of money poring thru Washington. The buck is not stopping at the desk of the President.
The deficit will hit 1.6t this year.
President Obama has said 'everything is on the table'. Health care seem be the ones in the middle of the table, were everyone is grabbing a leg, wing, or other piece and are pulling. Here seniors will be the one being consumed.
But the President has put tax loopholes on the table. With some luck the mash potato will fill the holes and we can make some good gravy to eat them with.
The President wants to tax the highest wages earners in the country again. The REP leadership has said this is a deal ender. So seems like the veggies might be cold when they get to the table.
As for desert, The President is offering up home made Apple pie. In the form of DoD cuts. Just when China launches its first air craft carrier, our DoD gets cut. Nothing symbolic about that, the Chinese paid for the apple pie with the 1 trillion T-Bill buy.
So as the Congress and the President have make a meal for the American people, we all breath easier to see the deficit crisis end. China becoming a regional power in the far east. Iran gaining power in the middle east and Africa. At a time when the US retreats and force reduces around the world. Ends its high tech military system with DoD budget cuts.
But it is nice to know we have a meal here at home......just at the cost of how many others lives and freedoms?

Things in Libya get worse. As President Obama considers his next moves. Will he now help Qdaffi? Whom he was going to sell M113 and other advanced weapons to. It is the fair thing to do. He starts the rebellion that reduces the world oil supply and pushed up prices here int eh US and elsewhere.
While Obama friend Qdaffi make mince meat out the the rebellions and with human right violations. If you really believe that "Qdaffi has to go"? Obama said that just prior to the UN Security council Libyan resolution that kept foreign boots from Libyan soil.
You don't think that as he said that....he also knew the UN Security Council resolution terms? Obama knew that the UN resolution was going to keep Qdaffi in power and would stalemate the conflict.
So he has the US Navy hits some Libyan targets with cruise missiles and does some air space patrolling with Tom Cats. Then hand the entire mess over to NATO and the Europeans. Qdaffi is still power, human rights violations (the reason for the UN resolutions and hookey of government leaders0 is still happening, and the gas prices have risen.
If President Obama spend 14 months making his next Libyan decision. Qdaffi will have Benghanzi and the rebells in a siege. The French and English are calling for more NATO interventions and air attacks.
Which is exactly how Obama is wants. That would virtually eliminate the crude shipments from the eastern region of teh country. $4 per US gallon and $11 dollar per gallon in the EU as well both might look good then.
Qdaffi tossed out a ceasefire card. And the rebells rejected it. Qdaffi's term was he gets to stay in the country. They say he has to go. Obama says nothing. Becoming either a arbitrator or Qdaffi flunkey.
So if he really wanted Qdaffi out of there.....with the rebells losing and being murdered when caught.....would not the ceasefire request, make a great moment make for a clear statement of his US position? It would give resolve to the rebells, to know the US is still in their corner. Only he left them in the dark.
The geo politics on this one are dark and ugly. Qdaffi writing a letter to Obama...calling him by his African name and calling him brother. Qdaffi's mercs coming from? Maybe Kenya and Obama's Muslim cousin? That Obama campaigned for in 2006-7. And the White House selling those 50 M113 to Qdaffi and giving his youngest son the royal US treatment on a arm buying trip.
Like I said "dark and ugly". LOL......I bet those 300 foreign policy advisor and NSA team are going nuts on giving advise to President Obama on this. They give him advise, he calmly rejects and does something to support Qdaffi. It has to be driving them nuts.
It drove the military nuts. There has been a major change over in the military command...mostly Army....but also DoD in just the past couple days. Back is former Gen. McCrystal, who degraded the CIC. If you can make sense of that, you are a better man than me.
But this goes to the heart of why President Obama should lose in 2012. The US needs a American President. Not someone that will do business with Qdaffi.
President Obama handling of the economy......is causing ghost towns all across America. Small cities and town of 10,000 are being left with less than 50 percent occupancies in town centers and housing areas.
As mentioned earlier by this blogger.....President Obama stimulus nearly forgot main street America. His response to those gun and bible holders and REP voters of the 2008 election. Just force them into economic submission.
Most of these cities prior to President Obama administration were thriving and healthy communities of small American. They unique in the composition and in their development. But they simply did not fit into the big gov't agenda of the Obama administration.
So were simply tossed to the side. With out work and with poor economics, youth of community leave for work in other areas. Effectively, the Obama administration is strangling one on the more pure aspects of America. These communities have lower crime and murder rates than other communities.
Sadly the Administration that pressed for the second banking bailout within months of taking office, simply forgot millions of heartland Americans. They put into place a SBA loan program that few could qualify for. They centralized government projects in the big cities, were DEM voters and unions are.
They failed to understand the different needs of small town America, while pressing economic development in the big cities. The list of small communities caught in Obama economic restructuring of America is great. And the future for them all is bleak.
But our President is silent on this. His words...."it is going to get tough for some"....I guess covers it all. Listening to advisor's like George Soros....that think Government should be the sector driving the economy than the private sector...the President has so lost touch with America.....that one begins even birther suttlebuttle circulating.
Was not the military providing that service of securing our freedom prior to the gays in the military rulings in Washington recent? Sure it was.
But the HARvard community used the gay issue to ban ROTC from campus.
Now the military is honorable service. Prior to the ruling it was a service to be demeaned at HARvard and many of the Ivy League campuses.
And it is not that much changed. A recent on campus polling by FOX....found most of the HARvard students still prefer to have ROTC banned or limited on the campus.
The military should end all their grant funds and contracts with campuses that banned ROTC in the past. If the campus cannot support the military under all conditions and situations, they don't deserve the funds.JMO
So how does the new world handle the coming exodus of European leaving that broken and failed socialist group of countries?
New report out....that says Spanish and Portugese are leaving their country in large numbers for Brazil, Argentina and other South American countries. Even going to African nations in seeking work and to start new lives.
Will the US have another Irish influx? Or English relocation? Canada to see more Scottish and Welsh?
Now the located cause of the report makes the trend....is all economic based.....one has to stop and consider. The social governments and their economic policies in these failing states as the major cause. Spanish and Portugese are giving up on their countries. Saying they can make a better life elsewhere in the world.
They are like many going to were the work is. If the work is not in Iberian penn.....they relocate to the work. Coming back to the US. Our employment gains are minimual at best todate. We still hover at 9%. Had the gov't shut down and 800,000 been laid off. You bumped that to 10% again.
The unemployment in Spain and Portugal is 20% and 11% respectively. That 11% is not the far from the unemployment figure in the US. But the Portugese have had it longer and have had more dreams killed by it.
Give the US another 2 two years of high unemployment....and our own exodus of bright, educated and trained men and women will begin. Not for retirement and to expat, but to flee the failed economic policies of the present White House.
Maybe President Obama investment in Brazilian offshore oil...is giving jobs to relocating Europeans. It might be nice if he begins to make some investments in the US economy for employing Americans.
Chicago is very important to President Obama 2012 run by the way. David Axlerod left the White Hous eto set up the first reelect Obama in Chi town.
They know that unless the liberal cultural voters of Chicago and like cities cannot be turned out (after a poor turn out in the 2010). He is a one term President.
As much President Obama is reaching for the mid road ...it is a stretch that is hard for him to make. He just has given the IND, Mid Road DEMs, and Conservatives way to much reason to doubt any such change.
The American voter does decide on actions and decisions....and Obama care, stimulus packages, czars, the liberal inner circle of Obama brought to the White House has convinced them, were the President stands.
In other words, the President cooked his own goose for the 2012. Sure REP and Tea party shot some holes in it. But this mostly is the President's own doing. He provided the ammo, the political opposition just shot the cannon.
If one had to ask...what is the defining moment of the Obama White house so far? Several pop out. The image of the President kicking tar balls on the sand of the Gulf is one. The image of the President on the beach of Hawii is another. Strange that a man that is going to use Chicago as his base for reelection. Spends so much time on beaches far from the windy city.
At least it is not back room politics as we have known it in the past........

The US has a drug war on it southern border....that has spread into country for 30 year already. Drug violence accounts for most of the shooting in the country.
You want to end it... reduce and shut down drugs coming into the country. Till then you have turf wars and gang violence.
But do you ask law bidding citizens.....that have a constitutional right to bear arms...to give those arms up? When they can be used for self protection? I don't think so. That grocery manager has every right to protect his staff when armed hold occurs.
The DEM answer here is to take guns away. The REP answer is to teach better gun management class.....e.g. hit what you aim at....and enforce more gun checks on buys. Gabie Gifford shooting in Tucson, should have pushed the country into a better realizing....that loose and deadly cannons can come from any place and at any time.
Consider for a moment. Had armed guards attending as security, he likely have gotten off the shot on Gifford. But on the 8 others, including the 9 year old girl......likely not. Gifford security team...by not having armed guard(s) present..was very lax. We have full time armed guard in our local library. We don't have VIP there often. But we have not had a shooting either.
Attacks against sanity? Against decency? Dude.....those were not Right winger in Wisconsin occupying the capitol. Those were not Tea Party that trashed Washington during their march.
Massacre of medicaide and medicare? Hey we already have organ tissue patients dying because Obama failed to get them funds for transplants. How much more messed up can it get? Dead is dead. No second chances.
If the private sector can do social security, medicaide and medicare better and cheaper than the FEDERAL Government....which does seem to have just a bit of fiscal difficulities these days. I say go for it. It cannot get worse. Our government has to threatened shutdown in a few months.
FDR did not make all of his programs government. His hydro electric program sold the electricity into the power grids for profits. Hoover dam...built during FDR's time....still is a major electricity producer for Los Angles.
FDR was a capitolist. But he could understand the blight of the poor with health care needs of his disabilities. If today, the country has a private sector stronger than gov't....FDR would let the private sector have it. In fact FDR set up a for profit hydro therapy facility...that served to both wealthy and poor.
President Obama cannot see this kind of facilities or business function. That functions for both the benefit of the wealthy and poor. Yet he will place his girls into the one of the most exclusive girls schools in Washington. And DEMs will not support school vouchers to middle class DC workers with children. Why is that?

Qdaffi forces have stalled the rebells drive and are seiging one city in the west and drive to 100 miles of Benhganzi in the east. Here they engaged in a urban fight over Ajdibiya, a coastal city. But this seem to in a stalemate.
NATO got got in a friendly fire incident.
So looks like.....a stalemate has settled in.
And likely the US with those special and unique abilities is a stalemate breaker. The question is do we have a will in the Oval Office to break the stalemate?
Syria............. the government continues to kill street protesters and even those in a funeral procession. Assad made some more changes in his gov't, but pretest leaders are saying to little.
Again here is a situation that President Obama can benefit the world with. He helps to push out Assad.....breaking the Assad/Amheminjadad tag team and break the Iran/Syria defense agreement. He can relieve Isreal of the pressure of a Assad. Stop Syrian weapons from reaching Lebanon and Gaza.
But is there will in the White House to the boot Assad out? Or does the White House leave middle east policy making to Saudi Arabia and others in the Arab League? Because all of those boys want Assad into the dust bins.
If the White House leaves Assad while booting out Qdaffi, how will the Arab League look on the US in the future. We can be dictator selective, picking and choosing the ones we keep and lose?
I don't have the answers.....but can see some of the questions that the Oval Office is wrestling with.
I always like the idea of those in a small country with a tax portion of 50% of its GNP ....advising those in the sole remain world super power with a tax 18% portion its GNP....on how to vote.
