Funny, I feel better too. grin

Yes, today in fact, in the produce section. laugh

What a rump. daydream

RE: i made a new discovery last night

Depends on my mood, sometimes tzatziki sauce, sometimes cheese sauce, sometimes the house specialty, and I never ask what that is. laugh

uh oh

Otherwise load it up, easy on the onions, and no hot peppers. grin

RE: i made a new discovery last night

With the right sauce, yes. laugh

I could do with a donair right now, even though I've eaten a fair bit today. grin

RE: eating dead animals

Well, it would be inappropriate to try eating live ones. uh oh

RE: Should The Hungarian Reporter Kicking Refugees Being Punished With Jail?

I also think it shows that those that are being let into host countries have little respect for the authorities, and as a result place themselves and those that they're accompanying into danger as a result.

Not saying what she did is "right", but I also won't condemn her from a short set of repetitive and narrated video clips. They obviously don't show the entire story, and I have yet to hear the rest, or her side.

RE: Should The Hungarian Reporter Kicking Refugees Being Punished With Jail?

Maybe not.hmmm

RE: Should The Hungarian Reporter Kicking Refugees Being Punished With Jail?

Perhaps she's a nutbar, and they were just looking for an excuse to get rid of her anyway. I have no idea, nothing has been said, at least not by her.

No, that's not what I meant.

I was saying that being a white woman, filming a tense situation among people from a different culture, religion, that don't appear to have respect for differing cultures, religions, and especially women, that she may have been exposed to more than has been said. Maybe she'd been through something that wasn't shown in any of the extremely short repeated clips, that could have caused her to lose her cool at the time when the cameras were turned on her.

I have to ask, were you there?

RE: Should The Hungarian Reporter Kicking Refugees Being Punished With Jail?

I have no idea what you mean, care to explain? confused

RE: Remember when?

Yeah, he did, but she didn't do too bad either, and thankfully people stay in touch off the site. grin

I didn't take it in the regard of things being that much worse on here than they used to be. Although there is some truth to that, I think it's more that it's so much slower on here, less members participating, and possibly more PC, that the numpties and religious/political threads, as well as the few trolls just simply stick out more.

I actually miss a few of the peep's that were deemed to be trolls, they added life to the site, and presented a different point of view. devil

I've tried inviting new members to join in the forums, many times, but it doesn't seem to work. Either they read the forums and think to themselves, "no effin' way", or it's just not their thing. No idea, but they aren't jumping in with their opinions, comments, questions, or anything else.

Reminiscing isn't bad in and of itself, it's comparing what was to what is that can cause strife, discord, and possibly alienate new members. I don't see that as being the case, just having fond memories of what this forum used to be. I'm not sure it'll ever be what it was again, but I'm positive it'll never be the same. Too many have left, for innumerous reasons, and many have nothing to do with the site or the forums. It could be similar, and just as enjoyable, but that takes effort, new members, and people not chasing off anyone that appears to be "different", or that doesn't agree with the status quo.

RE: Should The Hungarian Reporter Kicking Refugees Being Punished With Jail?

I dunno, why didn't she? Maybe she hasn't been afforded the opportunity to do so, at least not in front of a lens.

Yes white, unless you see a different skin colour?

RE: Should The Hungarian Reporter Kicking Refugees Being Punished With Jail?

Would the story change if it was a cop that did the tripping? dunno

RE: Should The Hungarian Reporter Kicking Refugees Being Punished With Jail?

Makes me wonder where the "law and order" crowd has disappeared to off of here. He was clearly running from police, and it could be said she was simply assisting them in detaining him.

The kicking part, well, a bit over zealous perhaps, but I have to wonder what she's been through or exposed to in the whole. I can't imagine it's easy being a white woman behind the lens during all that's going on, considering the people she's filming.

Pardon me for not jumping on the bandwagon to condemn her, but that isn't to say I approve either. There's always more to a story than what meets the eye.

RE: Spread it around!

Noooo! Don't say it, we can't have snow yet, I'm not ready yet. Maybe some time in February, when I'll be in BC. laugh

Just checked the forecast, and possible flurries on Monday, but it won't stay, the temps are high enough. dancing

RE: Spread it around!

I'm more in the mood to spread myself across my bed and have a nap today. laugh

Better rain than snow, but it still makes for a lazy feeling kind of day. sleep

RE: Cats Vs. Dogs • The Big Debate

How can one side with either, if you're an animal lover. I have a dog, and two cats, and although they don't always get along perfectly, I love them all. smitten

It's a cool and rainy day here, so we're all indoors, and the dog is bored, so he feels it's ok to chase the cats for entertainment. The cats feel otherwise, but they know where to run and hide, where they can watch the dog and laugh at him, and also when they can approach the dog and say hello.

Sure keeps things entertaining for me. laugh

We're Canadian. grin

I agree, as I posted in, now deleted, thread, the Con's employed an American style campaign and I have no doubt many saw right through it, and were disgusted by it.

This is after all, Canada. canada

RE: Wash's Road Trip

Had a look, and I have to wonder why we don't get the range of vehicles the rest of the world gets or produces. Other than the extreme cold weather, Canada would be an excellent market for a number of the off road and military vehicles on the planet. With a few mod's, they could likely survive here just the same as the Series IIa and III Landies have.

I still have 3 of them, but thinking I should whittle it down to 2, I'm running out of space with all the other projects I have going. laugh

RE: New Government

Hey Jo hug

I'm just hoping that the Lib's fulfill their campaign promises, and rectify a few of the things the Con's did in their all too long stay in power. They got a little too big for their britches, and obviously, from the election results, they've been sent packing.

I wonder if the paper shredders are going non stop in Ottawa as they were in Alberta when they got tossed out of office. roll eyes

The doors should be locked on the outgoing party, as soon as the results are in. That way "the people" can have a look at what they've had hidden from view for the years they've supposedly "served" us. grin

I also wonder why politicians don't end up in court or jail for their misdeeds, other than the few over the course of history. I could name a few in recent times, as well as many from the past, yet they all walk free, or die free. If it were you or I that committed these crimes, we'd be hanging from the gallows pole. mumbling

RE: the right to bear arms

Perhaps the Brits can apologise to the Natives in Canada first, after the treatment they received from an occupying force. The Yanks were by far worse in many ways, but the Brits have an awful lot to answer for themselves.

I won't bother to cite the numerous atrocities committed, some that continue to this very day, you can do your own research, if you wish.

As for the original debate, I've been to 30 plus US states, and I can't say I felt safe on the last few trips. It's been over a year since my last visit, and I can't see going back. Things have changed since the first time I visited over 30 years ago, and not for the better. I can see why more people wish to possess firearms for their own protection, but that does say a lot for the country in and of itself.

Rather a sad commentary overall, but I'm not against responsible firearms ownership either. I just see that there are a lot of needless so called "accidents" due to mishandling and unsafe storage, by people that didn't mean any harm, but likely don't have enough functional brain cells to own forearms safely. Yet they have the right...

Well, there is a difference between those that "believe in a higher power", and fanatical, hate mongering, afraid of their own shadow, numpties. laugh

I wonder who's next after the Muslims and the Chinese...maybe the Armenians. laugh

RE: Getting rid of all the Muslims or they getting rid of all the Non Muslims

Points? Like Hell points? I imagine enough to get a good seat at Satan's head table anyway. laugh

I'd be all for eradicating all religions from the face of the Earth, although maybe not killing all the believers. Ship them all to the Middle East and let them kill each other. grin

This idea has some merit. hmmm
