I posted right above you about that very subject. When I read that...I thought maybe someone is trying to be funny, but after reading it over and over...I thought NO...that was un called for! I agree with you!
"Oh....look at the time, how it fly's when we're having so much fun...but am past due on my meds, shots, and damn...past my curfew as well...well, enjoyed it...You can catch a cab, can't you. Later!"
Hmmm, did you read the official police report on Gates? If not, I can give you a link, to read for yourself. Let me know if you want to read the report.
In my opinion(and having a police officer in the past)Mr Gates, was given an opportunity to tone down his comments, and out rage...before the arrest. He chose not to follow instructions, and faced the consequences. If he'd shown half as much respect to the officer, as they were allowed to show him. I've seen too many of these type situations, which you are given every opportunity to act in a civil manner.
Something I noticed about Obama, concerning this issue, was when he mention the persons involved...it was always Mr Gates or Prof Gates...and when referring to Mr Crowley...it was 90% of the time..."the white police officer or the white cop"...not by his name. He did use the officer's name, but very little, in comparison to Gates!
A little old lady answered a knock on the door one day, only to be Confronted by a well-dressed young man carrying a vacuum cleaner. 'Good morning,' said the young man. 'If I could take a couple of Minutes of your time, I would like to demonstrate the very latest in High-powered vacuum cleaners.' 'Go away,' said the old lady. 'I haven't Got any money, I'm broke!' As she proceeded to close the door, the young Man wedged his foot in the door and pushed wide open. 'Don't be too Hasty,' he said. 'Not until you have at least seen my demonstration.' And with that, he emptied a bucket of horse manure on to her hallway Carpet.
'If this vacuum cleaner does not remove all traces of this horse Manure from your carpet, Madam, I will personally eat the remainder. The Old lady stepped back and said, 'Well I hope you've got a damned good Appetite, because they cut off my electricity this morning.
Thank you! I happen to be on disability, and would lot rather have better health, than some measly check each month(but I did earn it, with the years, years of working, to help support others disabled)!
Lazy? You have no idea how hard it was for me to reach back, and take my billfold out...and then....open it up, then...reach in with my tired fingers, and then...count out $15 to pay the guy for cutting my grass! Whew...(sweat dripping)...don't worry, though...I think I will make it OK, just let me sit BACK down. And you say LAZY? wow...
SensualVixen, thanks for your input/statements! I first posted this "poll" 4 hrs ago, then had to leave for a while, thinking this is going to make for some good reading when I get back!
It has, very much so. I've gained a new respect for you and what you have to say. This Micheal person was so far out in left field, I quit reading what he had to say...sounded like a broken record.
I thought for a while he had broke your record as well, with having to repeat what Gates was arrested for...hoping he would let it soak in ...but to no avail.
Having been an officer in the past...it is so easy for people to get themselves into un-necessary additional issues. I could go on for hours on the many aspects of possibilities...I'll just stop right here.
But I did want to commend you on your responses, kept your cool(but got close there a time or two )
RE: Ladies why not just an honest "I'm not interested".
I typed up a simple "form letter", saved...and just used it...worked out for me! Still single, so...it must have worked!
