You don't have to have somewhere local or give your time in order to help. You could pick one/few and donate to them or "adopt" an animal. Every little bit helps for these needy creatures.
There is also a website called "Good Gift" (I think?) which is great for presents for loved ones. You can give a gift to someone to opt for which gift they choose which could be supplying a goat to a needy family in the third world, for example. Or helping to fund a water supply, planting sustainable forestry, etc... the choice would be theirs. Many are not very expensive and much better than a commercial gift perhaps? I am going to do that next year.
An ortolan is a small bird. It is "secretly" served in very few restaurants but as its illegal to do so, therefore the meal is free and more is charged for the wine....
Interesting idea. But surely to be fair and impartial that should apply to ALL books?
Perhaps that will eventually be the way of the future? After all, education and knowledge empower people. Knowledge is dangerous to some. The powers that be don't want the common man empowered, do they?
Have you seen "Fahrenheit 451"?? Interesting film....
Yes, we are being encouraged to say "Happy Holidays" instead.... lest we offend?!
I am not particularly religious but perhaps a wee bit old-fashioned. I am sick of seeing our heritage, traditions and culture being eroded bit by bit.....
Just as with it now being an offense to not tolerate, to challenge, to question or to criticise, it will no doubt become illegal I shouldn't wonder. And we are expected to simply be compliant....
Well, they can bang me up then but MERRY CHRISTMAS it is!!!
You are quite right, Robert. The English language does seem to have many complexities....
Buoy, boy Seize, sees, seas A Row, to row Tear, tier A Wind, to wind A box, to box To camp, be camp Pansy (flower), pansy (??) A stair, to stare A wind, to wind etc etc etc
If it weren't for CONTEXT, I don't know how we'd manage?!
Well, you don't spin MY wheels, no.... sorry. You're probably too young anyways but I have no doubt you will find a lovely young lady here, my friend!!
That in itself is not enough to go on. It was an ordinary kitchen knife from the apartment they all shared, by all accounts. Of course her DNA would be on it, she may have used it to chop onions.....
Personally, I don't know enough about the specific details but I must confess from what I do know, it all seems a little strange. Her behaviour certainly seems somewhat bizarre....
I think she may have been led astray but probably, nonetheless, guilty?
Someone once told me you know where you are with a gambler, with an adulterer, a thief, an alcoholic, etc etc but you will NEVER know where you are with a liar.....
Strangely enough, the person that told me that was my ex-mother-in-law. As much as she loved him, she knew her son was a chip-off-the-old-block. She was right!!
RE: Why the Pope does not marry?
Because she would definitely have to be the one wearing the trousers.... you can't have them both wearing a dress now, can you?!!Mind you, at least he would have a hat for the wedding, eh?
