Love it!!! I have seen Rigoletto, Un Ballo In Maschera, Aida in Verona (where else except Egypt?!), Tosca, to name but a few.
Not into the real heavy-duty opera but Tosca is my favourite!!
Also love many of Shakespeare's plays..... Much Ado About Nothing, Midsummer Night's Dream, Othello and The Merchant of Venice (my fave, Portia is the ultimate heroine).
Nope, it shows balance and maturity, in my view. Jealousy is NOT a sign of love, however one wants to colour it, its a sign of insecurity....... pure and simple!
Of course, posts will be contradictory at times. Often there is the awareness that this is a PUBLIC Forums ("goldfish bowl") and there is also an intention to appear popular, i.e. nice, caring, etc. Sometimes that is forgotten, and egos take over with the need to express oneself and be listened to, taken notice off, regardless of the approach felt needed to do so. Human beings are fickle creatures in RL and its no different here, hence the sycophancy abound at times.....
That said, yes, I do believe a community exists here. Over time we get to know others and are able to determine honesty and sincerity from the "created" personas, are we not?
I am happy to say that I have met some very genuine folk on this site with whom I still remain in contact with and I am fortunate they are friends I regard as very special indeed.
And I love each and every one of them.... so I have gained more than I have lost. Therefore, I still maintain it was better to have come across this site than not........
Perhaps the mistake you are making is to DENY yourself the foods you enjoy? They become the "Forbidden Fruit" ('scuse the pun) and all the more attractive because you can't have them.
Having a little of what you enjoy from time to time is not a bad thing, i.e. if I fancy a nice bottle of wine, I only allow myself if I WALK to the shop, not drive. Then I deserve it, I have earned it (and I have burned off the calories). Otherwise, I cannot justify my having it....? I have a take-away occasionally as a treat because I have been so good looking after myself. I don't "diet", I have an "eating regime".... something different entirely.
That said, what works for me may not work for you.... good luck!!
I'm sorry, my friend, but you are addressing the wrong person! Religion plays pretty much no part in my life. I was simply expressing an opinion and, therefore, I do not need preaching to.
I can't advise you whether to tell her or not but I'm sorry to say, chances are you'll be damned if you do and damned if you don't!! Its likely to be a no-win situation for you, I'm afraid.
I don't, as a rule, drink coffee. I am, of course, a tea drinker. But when I have a coffee, I expect it to be a good one. Dowe Egberts for everyday, Blue Mountain for something a little special.
RE: Opera...do you love or hate it?
