Why are you making what seems to be a comparison between idealism and materialism? They don't correlate as opposites...
Idealism versus realism..... yes.
I am an idealist by nature but with experience and exposure/observations I have encountered within my life, one needs to adapt to the "real world" as it were amd, therefore, I have LEARNED to be a realist.
There is no princess in a tower going to be rescued by a handsome, gallant prince. All of mankind is never going to learn to live in harmony. Bullying, oppression and intolerance is never going to be completely eradicated........ all, sadly!
I still do my bit to TRY and make a difference, and we all can in some small way, but there is much I have to live with.... simple.
I am all for a man being in touch with his "feminine side" to a degree, i.e. taking care of himself, particular about personal hygiene and presentability, AND.... not afraid to show his softer side, his feelings.... but not "girlie" with it.
That said, I do like a man to be a "MAN"!! Not into the rough-and-ready sort who feels he needs to demonstrate his machismo at every opportunity..... just an everyday fella for me.
Those who one hasn't met, one can rarely be entirely sure....
There is the odd one here and there I wouldn't even consider giving house-room to, simply by the demeanour they portray.
Of those I HAVE met, I can honestly say they all seemed exactly as they projected themselves here. Often it was a pleasant surprise as real personalities are hard to determine via this particular medium. One can only really go on the behaviour demonstrated and when meeting some in the flesh it was a real bonus.
I have been fortunate to have met some fantastic people (many of whom I still keep in touch with off-site) but, that said, I have no doubt there are some wonderful folks I have NOT met (yet?!)....
So sorry, missed this.... only just spotted it, love!
Put your trust in the experts, Petal. They are highly trained and know what they're doing. Medical science has come on in leaps and bounds and it may simply mean a little medication....
Of course, a hug for you.....
And a little something to try and brighten your day? --->
