Yes, that is the forecast according to the Mayan calendar. Nostrodamus predicts a major catastrophic event in 2012 and "the end of the world" 2025 (depending on which version of interpretation of his works one reads).

I think its important to bear in mind that it may not be the END of the world as such, but the end of the world "as we know it"??

He has not been given a Knighthood. He cannot as he is not a member of Great Britain or the Commonwealth. It is an "Honorary" Knighthood and he will not be allowed to be called "Sir" Ted Kennedy.

I heard about this on the news and thought it was one of the most ludicrous things I have heard. Mind you, in recent years, it seems that Knighthoods and the like are given out like Smarties!!

To the poster asking if you were disputing HM The Queen's decision, its not the Queen who decides, she simply bestows the honour. Its the Government who decides.....

But, no.... I don't think he should be granted such an accolade!!

Because, and I do this myself often......

You can open more than one window at a time, my friend. From my point of view, I have work I need to do and yet I log onto CS at the same time. I work in one window and check in at times to CS in another window. I flit between the two.... when I am able, of course. It may often appear that I am constantly on CS for a long period of time and yet I am doing other things also.....

Its only one explanation of course.....

How are they attributing to the economy? What gets me most is that they must have NO pride, no self-respect?!

Its the Government's fault, of course, how is this supposed to send a message out that if you are a hard-working, law abiding member of society, it will fare you better than some half-wit lounging around on the sofa watching daytime TV all day, swigging beer, etc, etc? Just as with crime..... it don't pay?!

Of course, I was jesting and being frivolous earlier. To answer the question......

Professionally, I am probably perceived as an ogre. I don't suffer fools gladly and I despise incompetency, complacency and internal politics/strategy at the sacrifice of common sense, rationale and effectiveness. I have a high regard for professionalism and extremely high standards and anything less, in my mind, simply won't do. I am forever having to chase people so I obviously appear "a nag" but that's what I have to do to get the job done..... and deliver!

Personally, I do believe I am a good friend, I am there to listen when needs be and I will support someone whenever its within my capability. I have never and probably never will hold with the "don't care" approach, as in the "I don't care what people think about me" mind-set. "Don't care" begets "don't care" begets.... and I believe that is partly the root of a lot of the problems we have nowadays. That said, I won't live my life according to what another deems appropriate for me, BUT.... I am prepared to be flexible and accommodating to others' feelings and needs. I am not perfect, I am open to constructive criticism (we don't always recognise out own failings) and will take a well-intentioned viewpoint on board. Its the criticism that harbours a hidden agenda or the inadequacies of another that I won't be receptive to.

Give me a valid viewpoint that I can mull over and maybe learn something from, I'm happy enough.... vent like some deranged imbecile who is unable to adapt their behaviour to any given circumstance...... errrmmmm, NEXT?!!
