Of course I get your drift, I'm unclear as to why you felt you had to explain it to me further...??!! I do know what's involved... And, besides, I am used to wearing sack-cloth!
In short.... "no". I am with Hugz on this... I don't know you!
I'm not sure the question is appropriate at this particular juncture? Perhaps if you inter-act more with other Forum users, get to know them better, and they get to know you. Then ask the question?
I'm not keen on "babe" but, strangely enough, I don't mind "baby" if its appropriate.....
There are some men that refer to women/ladies as "birds" or "chicks".... I don't really hold with that either.
I think it depends on one's environment and what one has been exposed to. I have never mixed in circles whereby the men I have known, personally or professionally, have used these terms towards myself or to other women. Therefore, I find it disrespectful.
The original was banned in the UK for something like 30 years and has not long been allowed to be shown. Here's an example of how sappy and pathetic I am with horror (even the old ones)....
Late one night, it came on and after the lifting of the ban, I decided to see what all the fuss was about, knowing that special effects in those days (this was the original Chainsaw Massacre) were not as we expect now. Easy....
The film starts, music (ohh yess... its all in the music!). There are some teenage American students in a camper-van, break down/run out of gas? They see a house across some corn-fields and decide (as you probably would?) to go to the house for help.... so far, so good? They are crossing the field.... THE MUSIC.... ohhhh, God!!! Very eerie... Nope, can't watch any more, switch over, too scared!! They hadn't even got to the bloody house, the credits hadn't even finished....
Film-makers nowadays are in competition with each other as to who can provide the biggest shock-factor, i.e. blood and gore, yes. Even now, some of the classics invoke a more psychological nreve-twitching, hide-behind-the-sofa kind of "horror/scary" and that is what its about, not sensationalism?
One film, "Haunted House of Horror" from the early 70s is one that sticks in my mind even now. You can imagine the special effects were pretty inadequate compared to now but it still scared the living crap outta me!!
Not at all.... your artistic prowess clearly knows no bounds, its always most impressive, love!
Do we have to find some blank walls in Rome? I'll bring the crayons if you like? Sorry, crayons it is, I'm afraid.... I'm not allowed sharp implements!!
I think in this day and age expectations have become unrealistic, and all the more exacerbated by this particular medium, with pre-determined requirements whereby anything less AT ALL, just will not do!
Without flexibility, being more accomodating and tolerant, there will not be much hope, I'm afraid! In short, lower your sights....
No, not by some crazy fluke, a sheer stroke of luck or the cards just falling right, will you end up with a stunning cat-walk model or Orlando Bloom..... realise it and realise that an ordinary human being, as in ORDINARY, is what one will get.
"Ordinary" can, and often does, prove to be very special!!
I gleaned no inference that the OP created the thread for the sake of causing contention and yet again, there are those that will make sure it descends into argument. Why, from the outset, err on the side of negativity? Beats me, suffice to say that I think you will find they are invariably the same ones time and again.... and again, and they are more than apparent!!
I believe that speaks volumes that the issues lie with them and NOT with a thread that simply isn't to their liking?!
I do think DazzleYou made some valid points re. lack of tone, body language, etc but why not err on the side of the positive until proved otherwise?
Tam.... I think your thread was an interesting and useful one.
I fully understand.... truly I do! Something one should really bear in mind is.... if giving someone the benefit of the doubt then becomes making excuses for them......?
Life is full of complications, so are relationships, so are people..... he's a grown man, if he is a weaker character than you need, well....?!
RE: signing off for a few days
Don't worry, Ras.... I'm still here!!Mmmmm, okay....
