I can confess to having "left" or intending to leave on about 3 occasions whilst having been here, though I can't say I have "threatened" to leave... I am not one for dramatics so not sure what the "threatening" thing is about, other than seeking attention, yes?
Things evolve, change, move on here, just as with RL, I guess. For me personally.... almost all the "oldies but goodies" are gone, each time I have returned its been even more lack-lustre than the last time AND.... I have met someone, of course. All these factors will, and DO, play a part.
Perhaps I no longer have anything worthwhile to contribute (if I ever did)??!
So much features in the equation, change is a good thing and, after all.... nothing is FOREVER, is it?!
I have stayed for the fabulous friends I have made, but then I am in contact with those most special to me off-site.
Predominantly red..... and Italian! I'm a bit of a trad when it comes to wine, not too keen on the NW wines, though I have found a couple of lovely SA ones from the Stellenboch region.
Amarone, a nice Barolo, or I may even settle for a Bardolino. If I have white, my faves are Tocai, Trebbiano and especially Bianco di Custoza (mostly from the Veneto region of NE Italy).
I take it the "another" in the first paragraph and the person offering help in getting away in the second paragraph are NOT one and the same?
In which case, I believe it would be best to take up the offer and spend some time away. If one is going through hard times, one may not be best placed to deal with things and assist the other. In allowing time and space, one may come back refreshed and stronger to be able to be of help to the "another"....?
No, if you fail at something, it means you have at least TRIED?! Not even trying, I would consider more of a failure. Besides, suceeding comes in many forms.
Good to hear he's your EX then!! I am sure most of us can be a little more flexible and adaptable. I certainly wouldn't live my life according to what another deemed appropriate for me but then I am capable of accommodating another's feelings and needs, I believe. Just as I welcome CONSTRUCTIVE criticism. Its simply a balance.... isn't it?
RE: which military is the strongest in world now???
England?? I think you mean Great Britain?!And don't forget ANZAC!
The SAS and the Gherkas are, of course, formidable!
