I think its a play on words, Crotalus..... there is a Blarney Stone. I've yet to see it, would love to one day, and do whatever it is one does.... kiss it, I believe?
Ahhh.... a sagacious man indeed!! I think pretty much every word of that is true?
But..... you mention "some nice girl on here" waiting to say something and then e-mail, etc etc...
Somehow, I don't think someone projecting that "image" would be looking for a NICE girl, do you? After all, it would be evident that a NICE girl wouldn't want to know and, as you say, he's probably more interested in a girl that "puts out"??
Each to their own, of course. But.... to be scantily-clad in what is so clear an approach and yet not know which bloody site one is on?
Doesn't amount to being the brightest bulb in the hallway, does it?!
Give me a fella that is fully clothed and has an intellect over and above that of a soup spoon any day......
I think I've got the 'flu (some fella in Qatar gave it to me, long story - don't ask!).... Feeling a little grotty and a bit sorry for myself.... anyone cheer me up?
I have to agree. Moments of reflection, as were mentioned previously, are all very well and something entirely different to what has been described in the OP. Moments of reflection don't necessarily involve religion.
To make it mandatory denotes inflexibility and intolerance, the very things that creates segregation and is, supposedly, decried by the Church, is it not? Religion has been the one factor, over and above any other aspect of life, that has globally caused such segregation. That is not to say that religion per se is to blame, that lies with good ol' human nature, of course.
I would be more accepting of an assemblance of people to participate in something invoking a more "charitable" approach, say. And one doesn't have to be religious to be charitable and accommodating to one's fellow man. In my experience, and my observations, some of the most uncharitable people I have encountered are the ones claiming to be God fearing/Christian/religious types. I have met people who are non-believers and yet are the kindest, most compassionate and accommodating one would wish to meet..... and a mixture of all kinds in between.
If we are to believe that religion is non-judgemental, flexible, tolerating and accommodating, it wouldn't be made mandatory, would it, surely....?!
I change mine from time to time, switching between:
A pic of Graham Greene as Kicking Bird from Dances With Wolves. A huge Class I Powerboat. A still I made from the High School Musical 3 Jibjab I created. Photos of the Villa San Michele on the island of Capri.
Druidess comes through YET again with some pragmatic insight?!
A lot of this is delusional and, as a result of low self-esteem, maybe, dependency over-rides in favour of "love".... but what is perceived as "love"?!
