RE: """" I COULD"NT MAKE IT OUT """"

We have quite a few Huntsman Spiders around here they are timid and harmless but can give you a nip through sheer terror if you grab them, if they come indoors I just put them in a jar and take them outside poor little souls, live and let live.

But as for redbacks and the like! dont see that many if I did they would be gone quick sharp.

RE: A Political Question

Bob Katter is a very scary man you never know which way he will jump, when he was younger he was an absolute nutter.

RE: Thumbs Up Thumbs Down

I have everything like my home phone and Internet with Primus, mobile through TPG so if there ever is a problem (very rare)I get straight through to an operator.
Telstra and Optus are a disgrace as their customer service is abysmal.
What they need is some serious competition to bring them into line.

RE: What makes you unique?

Nah Looking' very common I am the perfect example.blues

RE: Article in the Chronicle on the republican movement.

I agree Shell about skipping ole Charlie boy... cant stand the Rottweiler either.

Read my earlier post on here' I think it would cost a fortune for the changeover and it would be just another cook to spoil the broth as far as I can see... it would be a nightmare trying to sort out who is in charge of who.

Think about it President and Prime Minister... I think they have enough probs running the country now.

Do we go the same way as the USA...they say their voting system is the most complicated in the world.

I would love to know the blueprint that Australia will implement to make the Republic happen.confused confused

The protesters were asked to leave as the shop owners stated they were losing business and had complained to the police and Council about it.

Reporters went in and asked what they were protesting about....most did not know confusedquite a few of the protesters were professional so even if you complain about size of a .....whatever... they will turn up. doh others were on the dole...that's why they just sat around and our taxes support them..

There is always two sides, but for goodness sake what is anyone supposed to do about the wealthy ONE % dunno dunno uh oh
Thank goodness the rest of us don't think like these jerks.... we have been too busy getting on with our lives and making a living.

RE: our Asylum seekers... when is it enough

Merri' I have to agree with Faithe and AA It Must go through the proper channels for the safety of everyone.

Even if Aus dramatically increased the migrant intake that will not stop the boat people coming in the back door as they would not be allowed into Aus in the first place WHY.... because they could be a danger to the safty and stabilty of our country whats the answerdunno dunno

RE: our Asylum seekers... when is it enough

When have you become aggressive and unpleasant.hug

RE: our Asylum seekers... when is it enough

A while back it was easy to see when some of our former forum members had been drinking.... like the phrasing of certain words, spelling errors and in one member they became very aggressive... unpleasant for all.

Now if anyone has had a couple they just relax and have a laugh..and that is how it should be.

RE: our Asylum seekers... when is it enough

Um...... strange because you don't drink... no' its just your choice! I don't drink either I feel exactly the same as you! in moderation its fine' but used in excess it pulls family's apart, changes personalities
causes extreme violence and ruins lives.very mad

RE: Article in the Chronicle on the republican movement.

Very interesting thread,I remember when my daughter was only 10years old and one day after School she stated that her teacher had told her that Labour was really good for everybody and the Liberals were bad.

I sat down and thought about it and much of what you have stated above went through my mind,I explained to her that every one has a choice about who we choose to run our country and as she is growing up she will be able to decide which party is best for herself.

The next day I called her teacher up and asked him point blank if that was what he said! he spluttered a bit but did not deny it.

I informed him that if he ever did that again I will be going straight to the headmaster and also putting in writing a formal complaint to the board of education.

If I remember rightly that incident shook me up a bit.
sigh

RE: Fate, Destiny or maybe Divine Intervention ?

Wow....achieving that is unbelievable hug and Yes you should feel a sense of great achievement as saving a life cannot be surpassed, and you are here for a reason.... NEVER EVER DOUBT THAT.. bouquet

RE: Melbourne Cup

Of all the races to bet on the hardest is the Melbourne Cup.

I think Americain will be a good chance he won it last year but... will be lumping 58kilo's a lightweight proven stayer called The Verminator could sneak up at good odds.

Apart from those two is a horse called Lucas Cranach think he is the dark horse.

Always bet each way as there are no certainties... that will give you three chances instead of just the one.

Any other time of the year betting on horses is a mugs game! the M.Cup is a sociel event and worth a few dollers each way just for the fun of it.

RE: our Asylum seekers... when is it enough

And That is how it should be.hug

RE: our Asylum seekers... when is it enough

I was also a co-business owner and employer ... there is good and bad in every part of society dunno being in the racing industry meant having to deal with all of them.

Truth be told' the lines got blurred sometimes.sigh

RE: our Asylum seekers... when is it enough

Oh Merri I have my opinion but whatever I say there will be disagreements so will just sit this one out. hug

RE: Melbourne Cup

Only Two homebred horses could be in the Melbourne Cup all the rest come from overseas ...sad state of affairs as the trainers and owners havent the patience to give these long distance horses the time to mature.
So many of these beautiful animals are burnt out by racing them at two and three yrs of age.sigh
