I remember my daughter (who like myself is fundamentally shy) explaining how she coped with going off to knew colleges where she knew no one.

She said she picks on someone and then follows them around until they like her. The thing is, they always ending up liking her.

We do tend to gravitate towards people who offer us warmth and friendship and respond in kind.

She was very young when she started college, but I don't think she was as green as she was cabbage looking.
