You can block people by age and what they're looking for.

Have you thought that saying, "I can manage my addiction" might be part of a process for that person?
Most often, people need to be on their own when they have psychoactive substance issues, as the added pressure of a relationship is unlikely to facilitate their process, but it doesn't mean it's a lie. It probably means they're trying to manage.
If they're not managing to your expectations, then that's your issue to deal with one way, or another.
If you accuse others of lying, whether it's divorce, addiction, whatever, you're not ignoring the truth, you're ignoring their process, or them trying to manage. In doing that, you're also ignoring whatever it is you're trying to manage about your own issues.
