RE: psychotic-depression

I was just making the point that it's not necessarily all doom and gloom. He manages his issues very well and I wouldn't have known unless he told me.

I would have interpreted his highs and lows as no different from other people's when they were tired, sad, excited, nervous, or whatever.

I think there's a lot of fear surrounding mental illness that is by and large unfounded. I just prefer a less dramatic approach, or perhaps a more evenly balanced approach which shows the full spectrum, rather than just the horror stories.

RE: psychotic-depression

I have a colleague with bipolar disorder. I agree it's a tough row to hoe, but I would never have known unless he had told me.

Perhaps you're coming across as a bit alarmist and maybe that doesn't help with people living with bipolar, nor the stigma that others may project.

RE: psychotic-depression

I agree with you there.
