I don't know how you do it, Dano. I write poems too but I couldn't post them on here, it would be like baring my soul and I don't usually do that unless she/he is a really really close friend.
Well, friend, maybe I don't know your definition of freedom but I can tell you that I know what freedom means to me and I can tell you that I am free. I'm even free to break the law if I want to, I just wouldn't like the consequences. And just because there are some things not right with our government doesn't mean I'm not free. Have you ever lived under a dictator? I'm sure if you had, you wouldn't have posted this thread.
WOW! I really needed you to tell me what I believe! Thanks a lot, next time I want to believe in something, I'll make sure to ask you whether I believe it or want to believe it or don't believe it at all!!!
And correcting my typos is really childish, along with that Matrix reference. I suppose you're going to tell me what I'm thinking now and if I really need to be on this site, huh?
What disgusts me are the illusions we've been spoon-fed all our lives. From the moment we were born we were taught a bunch of crap that really make no sense once we free our mind and really see what the world is. You think this air you breathe, this body you inhabit and this food you eat is reality? You really you'd be free once you have it your way?
As for "freedom", I believe I've already made my point.
I don't know what universe you didn't create but you sure are in your own dimension.
"Freedom" has always been a myth, a rallying cry for troops, an illusion. Yes, we all strive for freedom and we would all die defending our rights against a tyrant but to cut off aid to the needy, children and elderly in the name of freedom is not freedom, it's ignorance. We DO have some liberties and ARE allowed to do anything we wish to do, especially when it means bettering ourselves and helping others. But 100% freedom would be anarchy and in that sense, no, I don't need THAT freedom!
Should the government be involved in the charity (welfare) business? Should it be involved in Corporate welfare?
Should the government be involved in the education business? Should there be no oversight of curriculum?
Should the government be paying people's medical bills? Should it let them die?
Do you agree that income should be taxed? Do you agree we should have good roads to drive on?
Do you ever watch those shows like "COPS," and applaud armed thugs who break into people's homes and terrorize the occupants because they choose to take non-medicinal drugs? YES, especially when children are around!!
And how exactly does that make me not want freedom?
YEAH!! un fare and also very unfair! But whatever, ignorance is sometimes incurable ,eh? I' not even FROM Indiana, I just live here! Unfair, unfair, unfair, I say!!
Never been a "Good ole boys..In their camo pants..ball hats..and their farmer's tans.." kinda guy. I like cities and concrete even though I also like nature and a lakeside BBQ and jetskiing. A country gal might show me a good time but I'm afraid in the rong run, we'd just not be compatible.
RE: look into my eyes
Well, I guess it's a good thing I learned how to deal with my emotions
