I don't agree with your statement. A scientist makes observations of the world around him and then theorizes about those observations and makes further analysis and experimentation. By that very definition the scientist is already compromised by the very nature he observes since nature is always changing and never static. Science doesn't contradicts religion, the two are just not comparable. To me, science reinforce my belief system and pushes me to know more about the natural world I live in.
I do give you a point though : I do not call myself "religious".
I only found out in 1998 at the doctor when I bruised my right shoulder muscle stopping a 1000lbs cable reel from injuring a friend. That doctor told me and showed me X-rays and said I had two extra ribs at neck level. I did look at the X-rays and sure enough, there they were, on each side, about 3 inches long.
( My ex wife used to say that's where they clipped my wings, LOL ) No comments
Religions will always be a let-down to those who adhere to them for the simple fact that people look to religions for their answers while religions only POINT to those answers. No matter what, a book, even the Bible, doesn't pretend to be an "answer guide". The texts of all the religions are merely there for our own private reflections and, I believe, do not dictate our actions. One may argue that such and such a book specifically says to do this or that but no, those writings were directed to a specific people at a specific time, not us in general. Each and everyone of us have all the answers we will ever need. It is just a question of focus and determination, patience and perseverance. It's hard work and a long road but to him who is on the right path and frame of mind the answers present themselves in places not always expected. As for the psychiatrists and scientists, they know what is in their heart.
This world is destined to be engulfed in wars, always has been and always will be. There will never be peace, make no mistake about it folks, there are much higher powers involved in the shaping of our geopolitical system and as long as Man continues to think that he is the sole proprietor of his future, peace will not come. Would I volunteer for duty? Hell no. Has anyone asked my opinion when they started WWIII? No. I'll let them sort it out if they can. My war is at home, taking care of my kids and making sure they have what they need to live, the rest I leave to a much higher authority.
we men were born with the female chromosome and got an added one to make us male, so it is no wonder women don't understand us since they lack that male chromosome so they cannot relate or "get in touch with their masculine side", they have none! And conversely , we men should be able to understand women since we have that female chromosome and thus should be able to relate or "get in touch with our feminine side", an idea commonly thrown around and well known by now. If it is so, is the inability to understand women pure incompetence or merely a genetic miscommunication? Bad faith or synoptics misfire?
I say science should strive everyday to prove or disprove the existence of an intelligent being who sustains this whole Universe and if they cannot, they should stay the hell away from the question. I believe most of science nowadays prove that there IS an intelligent being sustaining our Universe, it just cannot get to any understanding of HIM.
They teach a lot of crap at school, especially History class. Don't mean the kids will believe them or have a different perspective than their parents do. I don't care what they teach, my kids know right from wrong and they know truth when they hear it so let them embarrass themselves and teach all kinds of crap, it wouldn't be the first time nor the last.
You're right, women don't like you...But there is one woman out there who might be looking for you right now...And she doesn't know what the others know !!
I'm out with a date at least half the day and if she doesn't have half the day for me on our first date then I don't think I'll have half my life for her either.
I love to cook for my kids when they visit but when I'm alone I'd rather either go to a neighborhood diner or buy those chunky soups, make sandwiches or ragout in a Crockpot, smells nice all day...
RE: Shrinks #1 the medical professions that don't believe in religion
