Well its 7 am here and I just got in from my bday party!!!! What a fantastic night and a lot of you here at CS contributed to that by making me soo happy with all the bday greetings. Thans so much for a loverly day
I don't work in the winter and tv gets old and so does reading, finding the foruma has been fantastic, I have met some really wonerful people here, and then theres people like Rsgumby...
Well it's time to go out and play! Thank you all so much for the lovely birthday greetings, cards, flowers & chocolates. You really are an amazing group of people and I'm so glad that in my search for a mate, I've stumbled across all of you!!!
I think I'm pretty much the same... I talk when I have something to say both places, sometimes when I should just shut up. The biggest difference is that I'm really affectionate with people in RL, it's easier for me to throw my arms around a friend and give them a big hug then it is for me to say it!
I didn't make the last post to bash legal gun owners, merely to make people think. I was raised a country girl and used to target shoot and hunt, saying that I do and always have had a big problem with trophy or sport hunters, what I shot... I ate.
Some of you may be quite surprised that I used to hunt, I do love animals but am also a realist. Anytime you throw a steak on the grill somebody killed that animal. And for the vegetarians, do you know how many rabbits, gophers, field mice etc. die in the growing and harvesting of vegetables?
There is no easy answer to the gun issue. I do think there should be more control. The value of human life seems to have deteriorated and its too easy for someone who is angry to grab a gun and make a horrible mistake. The Founding Fathers wrote "The Right to Bear Arms" at a time when a gun took 2 minutes to load and prime, I don't think they ever envisioned semi and automatic weapons, which have no place in hunting or competitive target shooting, and have no place in the general population.
I understand a gun owners perspective, but we are in such a messed up place as human beings that more controls need to be in place, and more value on Human Life. The fact that there were people that thought someone was justified in killing 6 people because he was harassed and angry... this terrifies me.
Well it's been a wonderful day so far, lovely emails, a few presies, good wishes from all of the lovely people here on CS and two phone calls from a special guy. Thank you all so much for the birthday greetings!!!
First pay off all the mortages for parents, bros, & sis's and my daughter and her fiance. The give my girl the most perfect, wonderful wedding, then buy a boat and sail, sail, sail to all the most beautiful beaches an ports in the world, course I would need a lovely man to do the sailing part...
A whopping 48 today, and thanks to many of you on CS who have informed me that life begins at 50, I have something to look forward to!
I remember talking to my Grandmother when she was 82, she said that while her body had changed dramatically over the years, and her face had wrinkled, the heart and mind within were the same as the girl who had married my Grandfather... I'm beginning to understand what she meant!
On this day I want to wish you all youthful hearts and minds!
If there is a God or Satan, then I'm sure Satan is quite a happy guy. Organized religion, in Gods name, has served Satan's purposes better then anything he could have dreamt up.
I don't think there is anything "character building" or "morally superior" to resisting temptation, I want to live my life fully and indulge in whatever makes me happy and deal whatever the consequences are.
Is it worth losing 10 pounds if I can never experience the bittersweet velvet of chocolate melting in my mouth?
Fortunately I don't find things that hurt me or others as tempting.
