I was lucky and was able to travel freely for almost 3 years, but I don't have that kind of money any more, so I want to make the most of where I go. What is about the Turks and Caicos that interests you?

You are quite welcome, it actually reminded me of my grandmother... she was truly the heart of our family and I miss her but know that she is always with me, as your mother is with you.

My cousin just sent it to me via email and as soon as I read it, I thought of you. So happy you like it! teddybear

Mothers, for Scottishlass 'cause I know she'll like it, and Daniel... as he remembers his mother.

The young mother set her foot on the path of life. 'Is this the long way?' she asked.
And the guide said: 'Yes, and the way is hard And you will be old before you reach the end of it..
But the end will be better than the beginning.'

But the young mother was happy, and she would not believe that anything could be better than these years. So she played with her children, and gathered flowers for them along the way, and bathed them in the clear streams; and the sun shone on them, and the young Mother cried,
'Nothing will ever be lovelier than this.'

Then the night came, and the storm, and the path was dark, and the children shook with fear and cold, and the mother drew them close and covered them with her mantle, and the children said,
'Mother, we are not afraid, for you are near, and no harm can come.'

And the morning came, and there was a hill ahead, and the children climbed and grew weary, and the mother was weary. But at all times she said to the children,' A little patience and we are there.'
So the children climbed, and when they reached the top they said, '
Mother, we would not have done it without you.'

And the mother, when she lay down at night looked upat the stars and said, '
This is a better day than the last, for my children have learned fortitude in the face of hardness. Yesterday I gave them courage. Today, I've given them strength.'

And the next day came strange clouds which darkened the earth, clouds of war and hate and evil, and the children groped and stumbled, and the mother said: 'Look up. Lift your eyes to the light.
And the children looked and saw above the clouds an everlasting glory, and it guided them beyond the
darkness. And that night the Mother said, This is the best day of all, for I have shown my children God.'

And the days went on, and the weeks and the months and the years, and the mother grew old and she was little and bent. But her children were tall and strong, and walked with courage. And when the way was rough, they lifted her, for she was as light as a feather; and at last they came to a hill,
and beyond they could see a shining road and golden gates flung wide. And
mother said, 'I have reached the end of my journey. And now I know the end is better than the beginning, for my children can walk alone, and their children after them.'

And the children said, 'You will always walk with us, Mother, even when you have gone through the gates.' And they stood and watched her as she went on alone, and the gates
closed after her. And they said: 'We cannot see herbut she is with us still.
A Mother like ours is more than a memory. She is a living presence.......'

Your Mother is always with you.... She's the whisper of the leaves as you walk down the street;
she's the smell of bleach in your freshly laundered socks;
she's the cool hand on your brow when you're not well.
Your Mother lives inside your laughter. And she's crystallized in every tear drop.
She's the place you came from, your first home;
and she's the map you follow with every step you take.
She's your first loveand your first heartbreak, and nothing on earth can separate you.

Not time, not space... not even death!

RE: welcome freinds of gillyloves69 !...did anybody do or learn anything interesting this week ?

No, it's a storage facility so that if we destroy the plant life, we have seeds to start again.

RE: What do you think the person above you has on the mind in there picture?

I can't believe I'm with Angelina... got to get a copy of that pict to show my friends!!!

RE: welcome freinds of gillyloves69 !...did anybody do or learn anything interesting this week ?

Yes... Oslo taught me that in Svarbard...

The Norwegian government has built a "doomsday" seed bank to store seeds from as many of the world's crop varieties and their botanical wild relatives as possible. The bank was created by hollowing out a 120-meter tunnel on Spitsbergen cut into rock with a natural temperature of -6 degrees Celsius, refrigerating it to -18 degrees Celsius, and then storing seeds donated by the 1,400 crop repositories maintained by countries around the world.

How well traveled are you really?

One of my favorite places is on your little island, a beautiful little fishing village on the Yorkshire coast called "Robin Hood Bay"!

How well traveled are you really?

Again, I have to apologize for poor posting... unless you read the first post it's easy to get the wrong idea, while I have been to 28 countries, the list is of countries many of which I haven't even heard of, and would like to know if others have been to these very obscure places and if they can pass on a little info.

Sorry for the confusion, but thanks for replying!

How well traveled are you really?

Portugal yes, but also autonomous, making it separate... sounds like a lovely place to get away from it all... sometimes I get a little tired of modern entertainment and it can be nice to take a step back in time...sounds like I should be there now, I love Carnival and Brazil is a bit far... maybe next year! thanks Cristina!

RE: I just got this email from a R/L friend, wanted to share with you

D*mn lass, I'm sitting here blubbering like a baby!!!!! Beautiful Storyteddybear

How well traveled are you really?

I'm not much for the laying around on the beach thing either... but I did love going to the Van Gogh museum while I was in Holland as he is my favorite artist. Being in Siena, Italy for the Palio Horse race was really amazing, traveling in Papua N.G. was fantastic as the culture is so incredibly different then what I have experienced before and being able to see an archaeological dig when I was in Santorini was so interesting.

The list of countries at the beginning are places, some of which I have never even heard of, and I just wonder... what else am I missing out on, what cool things haven't I seen?

RE: Dating against type?

At some point we all have to grow up and get over our "badboy" attraction... have you ever seen these "badboys" at 60? They're usually a pretty sad sight. Isn't life difficult enough that you don't need to be dealing with a brooding, self centered, filled with angst partner?

From a former badboy lover who's now looking for the good guy!
