All I can say is ... the one liners must have been pretty good to keep you going back for weeks!!!!!

May be GFY stands for "Good Fun Yarn" grin

RE: are healings real

Some people don't understand that when someone makes choices is because they can ... They confuse the freedom of choice with fear ... each to their own ...

gfy in lower case = good for you

GFY in upper case = go f*ck yourself (coz of the implied shouting/aggression when using upper case)

RE: This is just a horrible and sick thing this guy did. He should rot in jail. (Disturbing, warning!!)

Yeah! And don't those usually consist of delusions and hallucinations? I have yet to hear or read about extreme bi-polar symtoms leading to murder. Believe me, I have read every thing I could lay my hands on about bi-polar when I was trying to understand and help the guy I was married to.

Making short statements like you have without qualifying what you are talking about does not do any one any favours.

"doing something really crazy" could mean anything ...

RE: This is just a horrible and sick thing this guy did. He should rot in jail. (Disturbing, warning!!)

Agreed, however bi-polar is the new name for what used to be called manic depression ... in a nutshell, bi-polar/manic depression is mostly mood swing that range from lows (depression) to elation.

Other types of behaviour are linked to bi-polar/manic depression BUT thay are usually linked to the lows (for example self harming) or the highs (for example recklessness).

However, some people with bi-polar/manic depression ALSO have tendencies that would fit under other types of disorders, for instence schyzophrenia ...

Bi-polar in itself is not an illness that would make someone violent towards others unless coupled with some other type of mental disorder. But then it would not be the bi-polar bit that would be the catalyst but the other disorder.

IMHO

RE: This is just a horrible and sick thing this guy did. He should rot in jail. (Disturbing, warning!!)

thumbs up

I was married to someone with bi-polar and entirely agree with you, that using a bi-polar defense in court insults those with that condition/illness. My ex was or wasn't many things, but one of the things he wasn't nor showed inclination towards is a cold blooded murder, whether he had taken is meds or not, mixed them with other (non prescription) drugs/alcohol or not.

RE: Too Much Information??

thumbs up

RE: Any cute boys here? :))

RE: I need some help again...

hold the ALT key down WHILE you are pressing the numbers then let go of ALT key

but only works if you have a number keypad on the righthand side of the keyboard ... Doesn't work if you use the numbers along the top ...

RE: I need some help again...

laugh

I don't have Spanish keyboard and can still do it!!!!

¿ by holding down the ALT key and at the same time typing the number 168 on the righthanside number keypad.

¿ = ALT 168
¡ = ALT 173
(n) º = ALT 167
(1) ª = ALT 166
Ñ = ALT 165
ñ = ALT 164

RE: I kissed a Girl

rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing didn't make me gag when it happened to me ... I do enjoy platonic physical closeness with my girlfriends ... just not the intimate bits laugh So being approached (one of them was a friend of mine, I had no idea she was that way inclined till she did) is not a problem laugh I'll even give them a hug and kiss (no toungues though!!!) grin

RE: I kissed a Girl

laugh I thought about it after my second separation ... before my last marriage!!!

I thought back then ... bloody hel!!! men suck!!! I'm gonna give up on them and try women!!!!

Then I thought about it some more ... and visualised the great understanding etc ... then I started to visualise more intimate stuff ... and my stomach lurched from just the thought of it rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing I realised then that it was a no no!!!! laugh

I have, however, been "approached" a few times over the years!!! blushing

wave Sooooooooooo Riya!! What thoughts have been provoqued so far? laugh

Most of the ways that Humans have ...

I hear exactely where you are coming from Ginger!!!

However, what you are describing has absolutely nothing to do with anyone's welfare ... It has to do with belief systems ... and that is the crux of it ... Well ... as well as the thirst for power ...

Why does "morality" have to hinge around belief systems and not around the welfare of the people and the planet?

Most of the ways that Humans have ...

wave Hiya Ginger!!!

Would Ambrose's post ...

"An act is immoral if harms others AND those committing or supporting the action are not willing to take personal responsiblity for their results of their actions, and cannot offer the most rigorous arguments/evidence for that act. "

... be a good place to start ...

BTW it is not about "how things are now" but about how things could be different and would the universal measure of morality be the answer to it ... At least in theory ... If so how does "the world" go about having recognised a "measure of morality" that would be accepted and valued by all, individuals and heads of governments alike? Is it possible to reach such a state of agreement without humans reaching a more enlightened state of spirituality?

So many questions!!!

laugh

Most of the ways that Humans have ...

This topic of "universal measure of what constitutes morality" - for individuals as well governments and intitutions representatives - is probably what peace in the world hinges on IMHO

At this stage, I would like to point out (for want of a better expression) that we have had 6 pages of contributions from accross the globe, and everyone's profounds contributions were made in the most examplary way, with courtesy and respect ...
