I've already been there years back and watched the Forums crash due to the inability to be civil to each other. Good posters leaving due to the permanent attacks .
There is a positive side to everything ,it just takes a positive mind to see it .There are positives that can come out of the worst situations. It’s just a matter of mindset, perspective and what we take from each situation as an individual.
Well you certainly stuck your neck out on here all those years ago for your area when Yugoslavia got carved up, so I guess you have all settled down there after 5 centuries.
'Unprecedented': Voter turnout in election could reach highest rate in more than a century. Oh there will be some fun and games before this is all over .
My heart goes out to the American people taralyn. November 3rd 2020 will definitely go down in history as one of the most decisive days ever.
I'm reminded of the famous words from poet John Lydgate, later adapted by President Lincoln – and appearing in various permutations: “You can please some of the people all of the time, you can please all of the people some of the time, but you can’t please all of the people all of the time”.
Personally speaking we should never have joined in the first place ,but we did and the E.U was small and compact. Where ,in my opinion, it has failed is it's growth . What was originally started as a possible peace solution has got completely out of hand and become a "dictatorship" though I am loathe to use such a strong word.
I sincerely hope that some form of agreement can be reached for the benefit of all but our fishing rights will be a thorn in the side as will of course the borders in Ireland. Same again as in Spain and Gibraltar.
Farage may have instigated Brexit agreed but as a spokesperson I am not enamoured with him. Just my humble opinion Lee.
I have never been a supporter of Farage or ever will be. Leaving the EU was a choice I made for many reasons but mainly to enable us to take back control of our policies.
What I am concerned about is walking away without any basic plans in situ as if no tariffs are in place regards import and export we could end up paying a high price. A classic example is meds of which many are imported. Fortunately I don't have to pay for prescriptions but many millions still do. At the moment there is a shortage of a certain chemical required in Haematology depts. used in blood tests which are now difficult to get unless in an emergency . This is due to a supply shortage from Roche a German based company and probably due to the viral issue that is ongoing.
Please refrain from dissecting me and endeavouring to transplant your own ideals into my thoughts. You know nothing about me yet "label" at your will.
He has to be voted in to Parliament before he can make sweeping changes thankfully, and after 8 attempts and lost every time you'd think he would have got the message.
The art of a discussion without the need for mud slinging is indeed missing on Forums. Why people feel the need to attempt to humiliate other posters is beyond me. Is it a lack of confidence on their own part that they constantly bear bait? If you challenge them even in a friendly or humorous manner they call you a troll or a stalker or in my case an "old grannie".lol
Such a disruptive influence has killed any attempt at polite conversation. My life is not on line, this is just a place I like to come to for contact with the many pals I have made over the years and to interact hopefully with like minded people and have a laugh.. Sad to say people are leaving the site due to braggarts and bullies who feel the need to insult other posters.
We need something doing Bod as we are inundated with people from Stage 2 and 3 all wandering about in large groups . We have coronavirus in the village due to people's lack of care .
Lidls rely too much on UK shoppers same as Aldi. German companies that have cornered the market over here so can't see anything changing except of course prices.
Any fool that thinks we should just walk away from Brexit will soon change their minds when prices rocket through tariffs and when meds are hard to come by.
We are having a problem getting blood tests at the moment due to Roche a German based company who supply the chemicals needed for the haematology departments to get results. Emergency or life threatening blood tests only.
I cooked two but one was enough for me. Will have the other for supper, remove the potato mix it with cheese and stuff the skin with the filling then bake to melt the cheese.
RE: Welcome to the Funny Farm!
Is Bewleys still there on Grafton Street. I loved that place.
