I was not talking about cheating in a relationship, and whether it was right or wrong, I was asking the question if everyone was consensual in the matter, would it be considered?
Im not talking about anyone doing anything against the will of their partners, Im talking about the lure of money over your relationship.
Perhaps this was a emotive thread to post on the site; it seems to have been misconstrued, somewhat. It was, and never was, about faithfulness or cheating.
Hi Sassy, thanks for your comment! Thats it really; a test of loyality. Especially in these strapped ecconomic times, it really would be a temptation, I would imagine, if one had severe financial difficulties.
However, I suppose you could say that if the relationship was strong, and solid, it would survive it. If the trust and all was already there?? Would it be considered cheating, if all parties were consensual? Not necessarily my personal opinion, just playing Devil's Advocate here...
Think my point is, if I had NOT known the person casually, I would have never have presumed to ask their age. That WOULD have come across possibly as rude. The only reason I asked is that I did know the person in passing, she was not a complete stranger, and it was STILL considered to be non-PC.
Absolutely agree! If we cant laugh at ourselves, its very sad. It just seems these days that we cant say anything to anyone, without some kind of offence being possibly taken.
Reason I ask, is that it someone mentioned it was their birthday today. I said congratulations, and asked them how old they were. Even though I already knew them, they took offence.
I was later told that its now considered to be un-PC if you ask someone their age on their birthday, or any other time.
Doesnt seem safe to say anything to anyone anymore, it seems!!
What would YOU do if your partner was offered $1 million to sleep with someone else for one night?
Would you grab the money, and bury any possible issues of trust or jealously, or would you not be able to look your partner in the eyes the same way again, even if you had the big bank balance?
Even if all parties were consensual in the "transaction", could you live with the emotional fallout??
Woment are not consistent either! Women are terrible at changing their minds and opinions. Where did the saying of "Its a woman's preogative to change her mind", come from?
For me personally though, dating gets easier the older I get. Not the quantity, necessarily, but certainly the quality. I know what I want, what I dont want, and I not afraid to say it!
One does mellow, yes, but can also become much more discerning and kick the eejits to the curb swifto...
The only thing I would say (and Im not sure if the OP was alluding to this) is that I think alot of the younger generation (God, I sound like my mum) are so into their text speak they have forgotten what it is to speak, and write, properly!!
Some of the ones Ive met cant string a sentence together.
However, there are lots of reasons for less than perfect grammer, and it is the person that counts.
Some of the most ignorant, lacking in common courtesy and unkind people I have ever met in my life have possessed the best vocab and general writing abilities.
I think I could overlook a few typos if the person had a nice soul!!
Totally agree. Think the global policy side of things is so true. The world is getting smaller, everything that happens in each nation - irrespective of size - has a knock on effect on the rest of us in some respect. Consequentloy, given the size, and power over policy, that the US has, it is more important than ever to look at what is happening over there.
God knows if Obama will deliver, but the feelgood factor he has already projected is much needed, and a positive outlook on anything usually makes the desired objective that much more achievable.
Seriously tho, I think that probably emailing/texting/IM chat is probably the best for a while; you can tell alot about people's personalities and compatability from their words.
But there is no precedent to work with; go with it while it feels good, change it or get out when it gets uncomfortable.
Agree as to the hype, but unfortunately it does matter what happens in the US. They are the biggest superpower, the richest nation on earth, and unfortunately, very unfortunately do end up dictating policy throughout the world.
So, I guess, what happens in the Oval Office is important to us all, albeit in varying degrees of directness.
RE: The Mysterious rules by which females are Governed.
