Is the Bible Repulsive?

thumbs up Many of the Founders of this nation were Deists.

Is the Bible Repulsive?

KJV as far as I can tell? confused

Is the Bible Repulsive?

But that video was using NOTHING other than the OT and some passages from the NT. That would be the "traditional version."

Is the Bible Repulsive?

I will agree with you on the contradictions. I have not read all of the NT but most of the OT and its one contradiction after another. Its utterly convoluted and a mish mosh of conflicting ideas and thoughts.

Is the Bible Repulsive?

Why? Are you another one of those folks who act as apologetic yet have never once cracked a bible in all her life? Do you know who Paul is? Did you even bother to watch the video? I’m under whelmed....yawn

Is the Bible Repulsive?

I would say that’s true but those passages are pretty clear. Kind of difficult to misinterpret "stone them with stones until their blood is upon the ground and then stone them again and then burn them." roll eyes

Please watch the video first and then comment. Lets try to remain civil of course. The video brings up some interesting points.

RE: why are some men

No one makes anyone else happy. You are responsible for your own feelings and sense of well being. You cant rely on anyone else for that, male or female. Its not a gender issue.

More..yes. professor laugh

RE: SIENCE V'S the Bible, please read befour voting

I wouldn’t refer to it as a "stupid" topic necessarily. It’s only the origin of humanity. laugh It’s just that people will NEVER agree. Even in the face of overwhelming evidence for macro evolution they will turn a blind eye and argue. That’s just the reality.

RE: why are some men

Whos angry? laugh

RE: why are some men

thumbs up

I already told him I never take his remarks serious....evidently I was supposed to? laugh

RE: why are some men

Why can my comment directed at you not be serious and my interpretation of your own remarks is that they are not to be taken as factual or reality based? I’m not following you. Thus far my estimation of my assessment of you was that it is 100% dead on balls accurate.

RE: why are some men

What does that mean? "Get off your bicycle?" I’m unfamiliar with that expression. It was a serious comment and based in my observation of you. You can take it or leave it or deny it or explain. That is up to you and makes no difference to me of course.

RE: why are some men

No it wasn't. I was a reflecion of you based on my own personal observation and interpretation of how you present both yourself and women.

RE: why are some men

Submissive men are my specialty. sleep

RE: why are some men

You aren’t my type but thanks anyway. I realize most of what you say on this forum is a joke or what not. No big deal...I don’t take you seriously.

RE: why are some men

Point? Anyway, I think I nailed it.

RE: why are some men

Men that make rash generalizations like this about women generally are speaking from a place of injury. Someone broke his little heart a few years ago and so now all women are relegated to that of "nut job." These men are passed up. thumbs down

I agree. As long as there are religions, there will be conflict. If you choose to take the position of an atheist, you will be persecuted for not believing. The only correct stance that one can possibly afford themselves is that of Agnostic. An Agnostic simply claims not to know one way or another and since none of us can know, that is a true belief.

Chris I agree with your statements about how religion has the potentiality to breed violence, exteme intoleraton and hate. It just does. I also am not singling out the Christians. Religion in general can create this atmosphere.

More humans have been put to death over religion than for ANY other reason.

That is a true statement. Christianity is the hands down leader in world murder, oppression, inprisonments, torture and theft. This is why many will take the position that religion is simply immoral and they want no part of it.

RE: The Couger

I thought you were scared of cougars anyway based on your posts.

I don’t think most Christians or people that designate themselves as such actually take the bible as literal truth. Goodness grief! But some do. The ones that do are in the minority and are generally referred to as Evangelists. They are a smaller percentage of Christians and they tend to think they are right and everyone else is going to hell. Especially scientists and Wiccans. laugh

RE: SIENCE V'S the Bible, please read befour voting

Yes because of course we all know that the largest, angriest, most unruly mob is always correct. laugh

It doesn’t really shock me. In the US, Christianity is considered the "macro religion." This website seems to also be Christian heavy. Just because a lot of people believe in a designated Creation Mythology does not suddenly elevate it to a level of higher credibility that any other creation mythology. Does it hold up to scrutiny and evaluation? That is how the scientific community would navigate such a premise. Otherwise you are dealing with a lot of fear based conjecture.
