Oh I know! You would certainly get that impression from some of these threads. It’s disturbing. Let the man have 6 months in office before he is drawn and quartered.
Anyone can clearly see my response to your initial questions. It is you who then went from that point forward and stated that my rebuttal comments were unintelligent. If you will address my post, I will gladly carry on this debate with you. I’m waiting.
I’m sorry you feel that my response was "unintelligent." Need I remind you that it was you who quoted me? I gave you a well thought out point from which you could further elaborate on your position. If you are unable to meet this challenge then so be it.
Well I was talking to Norslyman actually but I think if a person is so worried about commercial beef (as they should be) then they need to STOP eating it or else raise their own for consumption. That way they know exactly what that livestock is ingesting and it is free of hormones and antibiotics unless that is somehow introduced into its food supply. I raise rabbits and that’s all I eat in the way of meat now.
Oh I see. Well I think the men have us beat hands down to be honest. There have been some evil women historically speaking though. Bloody Mary comes to mind. Mary 1 of England that is. She was killing Protestants left and right.
Yes I would not put my child (if I had any) on BC just for the hell of it or to control acne. There would have to be something going on in her life that I felt was a cause for concern. Interest in boys etc...I would not necessarily trust a child to come to me but you know your kids the best of course.
Yes absolutely you did the right thing. Would you have preferred her regnant? There was another lady on here that got her 13 year old on BC. You have to do what is appropriate to prevent pregnancy and STD.
As long as you are acknowledging that human sacrifice is wrong, I wont argue with it. It can be like pulling teeth to get Christians to admit that much. I dont believe that Yahweh existed or asked for any of these horrors to be committed. Its an invented and agenda driven premise written by a few men who desired power and control over the masses. As a conspiracy theorist yourself, you should be well aware of this.
Age is not a factor for me either. I’ve dated men far younger and some much older. I've run the gamut so to speak. It really has far less to do with the chronological number and what a person’s actual individual life experiences have entailed and what they have chosen to take away from those experiences. I have met younger men that were quite stoic. I have dated older men that were silly and immature. There is no telling until you really get involved with a person.
I have to agree with you there. The British sitcoms just don’t do anything for me and fall totally flat. That’s not to say that I don’t like British humor because I still believe that Monty Python’s Holy Grail was one of the funniest movies ever made. It just appears that they haven’t really produced anything as good as that since.
"A Fish Called Wanda" was excellent but that was also a couple guys from Monty Python so still....
I also would agree that it does not matter how Jesus was conceived. That was a mistake anyway. The word "almah" was used to describe Mary (his mother) in the bible. In Hebrew, the word "almah" is a descriptive term and means "young woman." This would have been an accurate depiction of Mary at the time that she became pregnant because she was probably a teenager.
For whatever reason, later Christian theologians mistranslated the word almah to mean "virgin." The Hebrew word for virgin is "bethulah" and never once was used in connection with Mary.
Oh no, you misunderstood I think. I’m not implying that the female creatrix is somehow more powerful or superior in any respect simply because it is older. You have to imagine first of all why the female would be associated with divinity at all and more than likely it’s the most obvious reason. Women are responsible for creating life and bringing it into the world. In fact all female animals are. What would have been the two most frightening and thought provoking mysteries expressed by early humans? More than likely birth and death. This is why the female would have this role for a long period of time preceding monotheism and the concept of a singular male deity. It’s not without social significance and explains a lot when you think about it in those terms.
In that case I agree. Keep that out of the public school and just allow parents the option of handling that outside and in addition to their children’s curriculum. Some schools offer "world theology" but only as an elective. I am referring to high school here of course. I would have no problem with that as long as it remained elective and the instructor was a PhD in philosophy and unbiased towards one faith or another.
