RE: Why do people take things so personal in the threads??

Look mindful. We went through this first by forum and then by private message. I accepted your apology as I thought you were accusing me of being banned when I never was. You apologized and I accepted. Why can’t you move on? It was you that came on this thread and quoted me. Now you claim that had nothing to do with me and you were speaking in general terms? Get real...

RE: Why do people take things so personal in the threads??

I think I will take your advice and overlook her comments. roll eyes

RE: Why do people take things so personal in the threads??

Are you accusing me of using "foul language"? That’s ironic isn’t it little miss potty mouth? I have NEVER once stated that I was more intelligent than you or anyone else on this forum yet you repeatedly make these accusations without the slightest shred of evidence.

RE: Why do people take things so personal in the threads??

And look whos talking! scold laugh

RE: The Couger

How? confused Anyway....I don’t think you need to feel threatened by older women.

RE: why women don't like slender men.

You look thin to me. laugh

RE: Why do people take things so personal in the threads??

The atheists and non-religious are attacked quite often but the best thing is to ignore it or take the higher ground and continue the debate in a civil manner.

RE: Why do people take things so personal in the threads??

That’s all I enjoy discussing though. As a rule I won’t initiate political or religious discussion in person with someone. If they have a short fuse, thats the quickest way to set them off. laugh

RE: why women don't like slender men.

I actually prefer thin to medium built men. I’m not sure who doesn’t like slender men. A lot of guys my age have beer guts and that’s a turn off honesty.

RE: Why do people take things so personal in the threads??

This occurs quite often on the religion and spirituality threads where someone will take a comment intended as a generalized critical statement about organized religion itself and interpret it as a personal insult directed intentionally at them. The truth of the matter is, these are public forums and as long as your behavior and comments stay within the publicized guidelines and regulations, then there is nothing that can be done to stop this. It becomes a situation of get a thicker skin or stay off those threads if they will infuriate you.

RE: A question for Americans.

I imagine Hawaii would be a wonderful state to visit but when I really imagine living in the tropics, I don’t think I would like it long term. The tourists would drive me nuts also. I actually enjoy the 4 seasons so that’s probably why I like New England.

RE: War against Christian

Have you always been a Christian? I thought you were a Deist the other day? That was the quickest conversion yet on this forum. blushing

RE: The Couger

I realize it’s a car. I just didn’t understand how your comment related to her post. That’s happened a few times now. I’m not going to worry about it. roll eyes

RE: The Couger

confused

RE: A question for Americans.

Yeah, it’s the upwelling in the Pacific Ocean that causes that. I heard a lecture on it at the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Yes it’s cold in SF right on the bay but its nothing like living in an area that snows. Mainly what bothers people is the wind chill from the ocean. You often times see silly tourists walking around SF in shorts because they assume the entire state is 90F the entire year. It just isn’t so. SF is nice but it’s just too expensive to live. For me to buy the same amount of land in Cali (47 acres) would have been a few mil. I couldn’t do that.

RE: A question for Americans.

Not all of Cali is warm. Im from there. The southern area is. If you are thinking of 85F+ days, then that would be the southern part of the sate, San Diego etc...

Mark Twain once said, "The coldest winter I ever spent was the summer I spent in San Francisco." The reason for this is it is located right on the Pacific Ocean and you get that cold air off the sea. It will never snow however due to the salinity in the atmosphere but it feels as if its cold enough to and it is.

RE: A question for Americans.

It really depends on what your needs are and what point you are at in your life. If you are a younger person with career ambitions, then you probably want to live in the state/city where the demand for your skills is the highest. This is tempered with weather (some areas have snow and harsh weather 5-6 months out of the year) and states that have milder weather and lower crime will tend to be MUCH more expensive to live. California is an example of this.

RE: War against Christian

Christians taste better anyway...

RE: The Couger

So is that the differentiation? A cougar is 40 something and a jaguar is 50+? That’s kind of funny. laugh

RE: Can Your Hear The Holy Spirit's Small Still Voice?

Or the ones that could float in water with stones tied around their necks.

RE: The Couger

Exactly. One would have to ask the question, why are there so many of these sites on the web unless younger men are actively seeking them out and they are lucrative? If it wasnt popular, would we even have the name "cougar"? Probably not.

RE: The Couger

Yep 36. I'll be 37 in may.

RE: War against Christian

Bump! Anyone? Going once...this turned out to be a decent thread.

RE: The Couger

I’m 36! Just a little younger than you. I think cougars are considered much older like 40-50 range but I don’t know exactly. Maybe it’s just compared to how old the man is. Thank you though. You look younger also. thumbs up

RE: The Couger

Im just basing it on your comments on the thread. If you are changing your position thats fine. I was confused and had no idea how you felt about it.

RE: The Couger

I feel left out of this cougar thing. I guess I never focused on age enough. I also never defined myself one way or another in those terms.

RE: The Couger

professor laugh

RE: The Couger

No it doesn’t because you just agreed. laugh Basically, your posts make it sound as if you are fearful of older women and that is how you interpret the word "cougar." I commented on that and you agreed. I’m not certain where you stand.

RE: The Couger

You are nearly impossible to discuss anything with because you just "go with the flow." Whatever is being said, you agree.laugh

RE: The Couger

No one ever said that. I thought we were talking about consenting adults here? dunno The term "cougar" refers to an older woman (how much older is never explicitly defined) and a younger male who is of age.
