Right. Those little puffy ones are called "fan tails" and they are slightly more expensive and tend to live longer. The crappy, cheap ones are called "feeders" and thats all they are. Feed for Oscars and larger fish. You want to avoid anything called a "feeder"
Many religious beliefs simply assume that biological evolution and human anthropogenesis was simply a mechanism utilized by a creator in order to bring about life. I’m not going to argue with that, whatever makes people happy I guess.
Well in all fairness it was a "wishy-washy" statement and I just wanted clarification. No, you are right. Indoctrination would be forcing it down someone’s throat like Sunday school etc...I figured you meant more of like "world theology" class taught by a PhD in philosophy or what not. Many schools already offer something along those lines as an elective but it should go no further. They should also include women’s religious studies and history if they are going to offer that.
So you just made that statement in order to sort of remain on the fence but in actuality you feel that absolutely, religious theology indoctrination needs to stay out of the public school systems? That’s what I’m asking you.
Well thats what I mean about debate. You can throw something out there and the chances are very good that another will ask you to elaborate or explain.
11:29 Then the Spirit of the LORD came upon Jephthah, and he passed over Gilead, and Manasseh, and passed over Mizpeh of Gilead, and from Mizpeh of Gilead he passed over unto the children of Ammon.
11:30 And Jephthah vowed a vow unto the LORD, and said, If thou shalt without fail deliver the children of Ammon into mine hands,
11:31 Then it shall be, that whatsoever cometh forth of the doors of my house to meet me, when I return in peace from the children of Ammon, shall surely be the LORD's, and I will offer it up for a burnt offering.
11:32 So Jephthah passed over unto the children of Ammon to fight against them; and the LORD delivered them into his hands.
11:33 And he smote them from Aroer, even till thou come to Minnith, even twenty cities, and unto the plain of the vineyards, with a very great slaughter. Thus the children of Ammon were subdued before the children of Israel.
11:34 And Jephthah came to Mizpeh unto his house, and, behold, his daughter came out to meet him with timbrels and with dances: and she was his only child; beside her he had neither son nor daughter.
11:35 And it came to pass, when he saw her, that he rent his clothes, and said, Alas, my daughter! thou hast brought me very low, and thou art one of them that trouble me: for I have opened my mouth unto the LORD, and I cannot go back.
11:36 And she said unto him, My father, if thou hast opened thy mouth unto the LORD, do to me according to that which hath proceeded out of thy mouth; forasmuch as the LORD hath taken vengeance for thee of thine enemies, even of the children of Ammon.
11:37 And she said unto her father, Let this thing be done for me: let me alone two months, that I may go up and down upon the mountains, and bewail my virginity, I and my fellows.
11:38 And he said, Go. And he sent her away for two months: and she went with her companions, and bewailed her virginity upon the mountains.
11:39 And it came to pass at the end of two months, that she returned unto her father, who did with her according to his vow which he had vowed: and she knew no man. And it was a custom in Israel,
Well to be fair, people are here for all kinds of reasons. The differing forums would not exist if this site was solely for dating or romantic endeavors. I dont think you should criticize people for carrying on an intellectual debate provided it remains civil. Sometimes they dont.
Religion can be a touchy subject for people and I find there is very often a great deal of resentment projected onto the non-religious at times.
I personally feel that state funded public schools have no place instructing any classes on religious theology. This is something that the parents have the option of doing on their own and they can choose whichever religious doctrine fulfills that need.
Ray if you had even bothered to watch the video presentation it took place in front of a judge during a legal proceeding and the creationist side knew exactly what they were up against as per the legal parameters of "disclosure" yet they simply had no rebuttal. Do you want me to repost the video so you can actually address the fused chromosome issue?
Well don’t parents have the option of sending their children to the religious theology classes of their choice outside of their normal public school curriculum funded by tax dollars?
I just looked and there are a ton of websites for how to set your tank up properly and care for goldfish. Its not a matter of getting a little bowl and dumping them in there.
And you did not address his statement at all of course. Way to skirt the issue, senator. He stated that Jesus "admired" the relationship. He did not condemn it.
Gold fish are in the carp family. You need to properly circulate the tank (it will develop a swampy smell) and DO NOT keep goldfish overly clean. They are dirty fish. When you keep cleaning the tank you are essentially removing the protective coatings that the fish require.
As was the IQ of Albert Einstein who was obviously not a Christian. In fact, in that letter of his that I posted the article about, he referred to religion as the domain of "childish superstitions."
Christianity and Monotheism itself would be in conflict with much earlier Pagan Goddess/Earth centered spirituality and this is why you see such a hostile backlash against female centered spirituality. It is believed that this was the first religion of humanity and the archeological evidence dates back to the Neolithic.
That was a toss up for me between Mike Myers and Leatherface but I went with Leatherface. “Halloween” was a horribly frightening movie. Texas Chainsaw Massacre was also but they were scary in different ways. Texas Chainsaw Massacre was more "in your face" and graphically violent and disturbing. It had a documentary quality to it. Halloween was more subtle but Mike Myers was very scary. That scene where the girl looks out the window and sees him standing behind the bed sheet in the middle of the day and then looks again and he’s gone....yikes.
Right. He's got a tough haul ahead of him and a bumpy road. I just felt that if McCain had gotten in, it would have been 8 more years of the same nonsense and I couldn’t take it honestly. I saw no potential for change with him.
When "the spirit of the Lord" comes upon Jephthah, he makes a deal with God: If God will help him kill the Ammonites, then he (Jephthah) will offer to God as a burnt offering whatever comes out of his house to greet him. God keeps his end of the deal by providing Jephthah with "a very great slaughter." But when Jephthah returns, his nameless daughter comes out to greet him (who'd he expect, his wife?). Well, a deal's a deal, so he delivers her to God as a burnt offering.
And for whatever reason you don’t count Isaac? It was still requested. Although it was probably supposed to be Ishmael and whoever wrote that story could not keep the names of the sons straight. Ishmael was first born.
And you have yet to answer the question about the animals.
The Israeli government is the largest recipient of US financial aid in the world, receiving over one-third of total US aid to foreign countries, even though Israel’s population comprises just .001% of the world’s population and has one the world’s higher per capita incomes.
Hrmmm.
I did not say that we SHOULDN'T offer the nation of Kenya aid (we have in the past in fact.) I’m saying that we don’t. The U.S. has shown important leadership during Kenya's political crisis, and now it must go further to act but probably won’t. Kenya is an anchor for the region and for U.S. interests but I’m assuming we will waste more time on Israel.
RE: DIVINE CREATOR or Darwin's Theory ?
So jokes are made when rebuttal eludes you? Well it hasn't been the first time....
