Nearly 90 retired Generals and Admirals call for the resignations of Milley and Austin

Nearly 90 retired U.S. generals and admirals penned an open letter asking Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin and the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Mark Milley to resign from their positions following their “negligence in performing their duties primarily involving events surrounding the disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan.”

“As principal military advisors to the CINC /President, the SECDEF and CJCS should have recommended against this dangerous withdrawal in the strongest possible terms,” the letter states. “If they did not do everything within their authority to stop the hasty withdrawal, they should resign. Conversely, if they did do everything within their ability to persuade the CINC/President to not hastily exit the country without ensuring the safety of our citizens and Afghans loyal to America, then they should have resigned in protest as a matter of conscience and public statement.”

This “hasty retreat,” the letter continues, not only left thousands of vulnerable Americans and Afghan allies stranded at the hands of the Taliban but also contributed to the “catastrophic” loss of “billions of dollars in advanced military equipment and supplies falling into the hands of our enemies.”

“The consequences of this disaster are enormous and will reverberate for decades beginning with the safety of Americans and Afghans who are unable to move safely to evacuation points; therefore, being de facto hostages of the Taliban at this time. The death and torture of Afghans has already begun and will result in a human tragedy of major proportions,” the letter says. “The damage to the reputation of the United States is indescribable. We are now seen, and will be seen for many years, as an unreliable partner in any multinational agreement or operation. Trust in the United States is irreparably damaged.”

This damaged trust, the retired generals and admirals argue, gives confidence to U.S. enemies who “are emboldened to move against America due to the weakness displayed in Afghanistan.”

“China benefits the most followed by Russia, Pakistan, Iran, North Korea and others. Terrorists around the world are emboldened and able to pass freely into our country through our open border with Mexico,” the letter states.

The letter also points out how military leadership’s focus on “wokeness” is hurting the viability of U.S. troops and the military as an institution.

“In interviews, congressional testimony, and public statements it has become clear that top leaders in our military are placing mandatory emphasis on PC ‘wokeness’ related training which is extremely divisive and harmful to unit cohesion, readiness, and war fighting capability,” the letter says. “Our military exists to fight and win our Nation’s wars and that must be the sole focus of our top military leaders.”

“For these reasons we call on the SECDEF Austin and the CJCS General Milley to resign,” it concludes. “A fundamental principle in the military is holding those in charge responsible and accountable for their actions or inactions. There must be accountability at all levels for this tragic and avoidable debacle.”

Over the last week, multiple GOP lawmakers called on President Joe Biden to resign for “dereliction of duty that has left Americans dead at the hands of terrorists.”

Is the world ready for war?

Wise analysis from Colonel Douglas MacGregor

What's going to happen? How do we come back from this? From Ukraine to now the Middle East, our 'leaders' in The West seem utterly incompetent and utterly oblivious to the reality of the world in which we now live. In the matter of a few short years we have gone from peace (at least comparatively speaking) through strength to reckless abandon and expanding conflicts. Where (and how) will this all end?

The Economy In A Democracy

A 12 year old boy was told to research the inner workings of the economy and he consulted his father.

His father said:
"Son, an economy works very much like our household. I am the breadwinner who provide for everybody; therefore I am the capitalist. Your mother works with the money within the strict framework of the budget, so she is the government. You are the people. Your baby sister is the future and her babysitter is the working class. Simple as that." professor

The boy was sceptical about the explanation but decided to leave it there. confused

Later that night the boy heard his baby sister crying and a quick look revealed that she needed a clean diaper (nappy). He tried to wake his mother from her drunken stupor but failed, so he went to the babysitter. He found his father on top of the babysitter. Not knowing what to do, he quietly went back to his bed. dunno

The next morning he told his father that he finally understood how the economy works. When his father asked him to explain he said: "While the government is asleep, the capitalist screws the working class. The people are ignored while the future is in the shìt." doh

This is laughable by any standards

In a post on Truth Social platform, Trump wrote, “If this Partisan Hack wants to put me in the 'clink' for speaking the open and obvious TRUTH, I will gladly become a Modern Day Nelson Mandela - It will be my GREAT HONOR

Mandela wound up spending 27 years in prison for leading the African National Congress (ANC), which opposed apartheid policies that kept South Africa's Black residents segregated, often in inhumane conditions.

While rulers all over the world were busy empowering themselves and their friends, he was busy empowering his people.

Get over yourself Donald you are no match for Mandela and your comment is an insult. The only person you try to empower is yourself.very mad

Trump Mug Shot

Well here it is. A moment in history. How will all this turn out? Very badly for the Democrats in my opinion. But we shall see. Be careful what you wish for. Be careful for the precedents you set. For be careful they may come back to hit you in the áss.

OxyContin

If you are curious to know how OxyContin became the #1 addiction pill then you should watch a movie on Netflix called PainKiller that explains it. It started out as a pain killer for people with cancer and serious pain from surgery but it turned into something else when doctor's kept prescribing higher and higher doses which filled their bank account balance higher and higher.

Shameful disgraceful behaviour

Well I never snooty

shock doh

You go Luis, stand your ground cheering

Can't believe this has become so blown out of proportion as it has, more so from a woman who doesn't even know her own mind.

Red card to Jennifer, I say thumbs down

Wonder if a female coach, president or whatever kissed a male player in the same circumstances would she also be accused of an act of violence doh
or asked to resign.

Where some women make me feel proud to be a woman, there are others who make me feel downright ashamed. sigh

For the first time in history....

Scientific American has endorsed a presidential candidate.
That shows how important this election is.

Well, we KNOW it couldn't be a person, who not only doesn't have a clue about science, nor even math. They are far too smart for that.

But, who would Scientific American endorse as it's first candidate ever ?

Yep, Joe Biden. head banger

Preferential treatment?.........Hmmmn.

About a month ago, after observing that some men’s profiles were either devoid of a personal pic or featured a pic of an animal (and in one case, a drawing of a cat with a rose), I decided that it would be all right for me to do the same. So, I posted a pic of Sweetie Pie as my primary photo.

Almost immediately, the pic was removed, and I was informed that I could not use it as my primary photo. I was very disappointed and thought of querying that policy, because other CS members were being allowed to do otherwise.

Why was I being denied the same opportunity? Was it because I was (and still am) relatively new on here, and there’s some sort of ‘probationary’ period to complete before I could do so? Was it because they have a policy that ‘men’s faces don’t really need to be seen, but women’s do’? Was it because the ‘mods’ only do random checks and just happened to be checking when I put up Sweetie’s photo? Was it because…………….?
I couldn’t think of anything else that was plausible.

Then, earlier today Avocet’s profile pic (featuring 2 dogs, I think) made Galrads ask how he was able to ‘get away’ with that, and I wondered about the mystery behind it all.

Is this a case of preferential treatment, or a faux pas that was missed by the CS ‘powers that be’? hmmm dunno confused
