I think because of the fact that this gentleman was one of the first friends my ex introduced me to made the difference. It was always upfront and seem honest and sincere.

I think I would have felt different if she had met a man while we were married and became best friends....Oh wait...., she did !

I read you have lived the experience from the husband point of view. I would like to know how did you feel about your wike having a best friend. Did it ever make you feel unconfortable?
Or were you sure nothing would happen between them.
Sorry to hear he passed away.

I know it´s a delicate matter. Maybe if your best friend is from childhood or teenage years, it´s easy because it´s always been like that.

This is a very tough one for me. I am not sure how it would work out because I have never had a female as a best friend. (except for my bff I met here. ) I think it would be fantastic, but I just wonder about getting too attached and messing up the friendship.
I know it can be done. The lady I married many years ago had a male for a best friend. They met in high school. They relied on each others friendship and were extremely close, until he passed away only a few years ago.
I hope one day I will be able to honestly answer yes to this. I believe it is not a myth.... for some.

Frank Herbert's 'Dune' surely is worth a mention. Orwell's '1984',although really a political satire has often been included in the genre owing to the fact that it was predictive and written in 1949.

I would've thought that Arthur C. Clarke would be worthy of inclusion.

Nice tips, Lammycool. I´m going to try and clean my PC. I was a bit worried about doing it, but now I have more confidence. There ara a couple ok keys that don´t work very well, so I´ll probably solve the problem by just cleaning it.

You´re so right Kittykins. I was assuming that both are single, but having a third and even a fourth person involved makes the relationship so very complicated. It is a very delicate matter indeed.
Oh yes! small town gossip is the worst!
It all depends on the woman´s strengh once again. It is a fragile line and alcohol can ruin everything in a second.
She has to be the strong one as always.

There's one major point that hasn't been mentioned. We are assuming that the persons are both single. If one or both are involved in relationships then big big problems can arise. From a personal point of view I had to be very careful or otherwise I'd have one suspicious husband. And don't forget the usual town gossip that also comes into the equation.

Since I've been single I've made a few male friends and there's been no dramas. But I tend to draw a line. . . . . . this your side. . . . . this mine. And too much alcohol will eventually cause emotions to get a bit carried away. You can just about guarantee it.

However it is still possible. It's just a matter of staying level-headed.

Trust is basic. I guess it all come down to cominication, or lack of it. Trying to guess what the other thinks doesn´t work, does it!
For me, a man who is not scared of what others might think is very attractive. Just being yourself and communicating is fine.
About just being friends, it might not work for everyone.

My Experiences With Little Animals

Thanks for reading, Calm. I really felt like sharing more details about my experiences but it would sound boring. I do have a special heart for animals since childhood and having seen so much brutal treatment of animals that happened around me, I'm feeling so sorry for the poor innocent animals and some guilty cruel people. In some rural areas people still eat dogs and cats or any animals they can catch. Even in my city, I also have seen children throwing chicks to each other like playing toss game near their school gate... pity this phenomena will last for a long long time until everyone can realize the danger of species extinction and the disappearance of humanity....... But it's funny that I never dare to kill chickens like many others ever did, I even didn't dare to carve meat. Oh, I think I just have a dread of seeing blood and hearing screams!!!

I think it is very possible and very healthy. Women friends are great to talk to regarding the female mind. I consult them to get into the heads of women I date mostly. Also when dating, I think it's healthy to show her that you have some options, and that you are valuable for friendship. I think she will want you more if you keep a couple of close (not TOO close) female friends around. This is all out the window if your a cheater, though. Every last word I wrote would be useless if you cheat.

My ex cheated on me once and surprise surprise, she hated me to even talk to another women at a cross-walk or any other extremely non-threatening situation. It ruined our relationship because in her mind everybody thinks like her and the whole world is not to be trusted. This is the result of cheating, people!

Your article was very informative...but the fact still remains...most women want nothing to do with a player...at least from my point of view and other women that I have talked to. We want to avoid them like the plague...look at all the broken hearts they leave behind...or seem to...like I said..it was informative but it's doubtful it has changed a woman's view of a player much.

Most of the time, as an older person of looking around at others, I think that old men with money in Canada and USA take to Asian ladies because they are petite and feminine. These men take advantage of the poor for sure, but do not worry, there are so many wonderful stories that Asian women get these old men where it hurts eventually -- they cause these men heart attacks and yay, they get all the money !!

My point of fiew, I can say no, it is not a myth. I have girlfriends, with whom I talk and write. When ever I have a bigger prob and need an advice, I ask one of them. Men and woman think differend, therefore it`s often a good idea to hear not only a male thought. It`s a great deal for both, I think. On the other hand, who understands a woman better, than a woman itself? The same for a man. I don`t know how often I have thought, the mix is it and, it helped.

Claro que es posible. Yo tengo amigos que son sólo eso, amigos, nada más. Y eso no quiere decir que sean gays. Sucede que, el mundo en el que vivimos, dice que eso no es posible. ¿Por qué no? ¿Dónde está escrito que el hombre y la mujer no pueden ser sólo amigos?
Es difícil luchar contra las reglas establecidas, lo sé, pero merece la pena intentarlo.
