Don't believe people who say, "There are no good people out there! All they want is a younger women or man. Who will want me?" Statistics have proven that just is not true. What a person over fifty is looking for is a great companion that takes reasonably good care of themselves. So be proactive, don't sit around, simply get up and open the door on the rest of your life. The best is yet to come.

The last two sentences of the above statement are pivotal. I've met many people, at all age ranges that have just given up. Even been tempted there myself .... but, I'm not one to just sit around and wait for the love of my life to fall from the sky.
Get out and get involved .... volunteer organizations, coffee at your favorite bookstore, civic events, just anything actually .... you just never know who's around the corner ....

Yes, been there done that too, what a waste of 6 years that was... Even worse, she was disabled. She thought the whole world owed her a favour and it revolved around her!
She was born with Spina Bifida and if I was out for too long at a friends place, she would call & call my mobile - granted it was her car I was driving around in, even when I was driving my own car, it was exactly the same crap!
So, yes there are female ones too for sure!!

Men hone humor to attract women. Humor is derived from intelligence, women are derided for intelligence ( I dont agree but it happens ). Most men want a woman that is not smarter than them so they have the intelectual power. Personaly i need someone smarter than me because i dont make the best of choices. I however have fun in my bad choices.

The way I know true love exists is watching my parents while growing up. They married after 3 weeks of knowing each other. They have been married 53 years.

They still are there for each other and love spending time with each other, but they also have different hobbies and intrests. For example, my dad likes to go on hunting trips (sometimes to Bolivia). My mother never kicks up a fuss because she knows that is one of his passions. Sure she misses him, but she's glad he's having fun. Same is true of dad. Mom likes to get her four sisters together and go somewhere they've never been. Dad knows she's enjoying herself. It's amazing because they have total trust and honesty between each other.

The also have discussions about current events and always talk to each other after 53 years. To me, that's perfect.

I'm in a LDR, my partner lives in Indonesia and I have travelled to see her several times, the last for 2 months and I have just come back. We have been in the relationship now for a year, but only got to meet in June this year. She is now about to go to China to study until June next year, so our LDR continues. I will visit her in China in February 2010. We plan top be together either in Indonesia or Australia when her studies are finished.

I appreciated the positive tone of the article, it is clear the author knows what he/she is talking about. Trust is certainly one of the most important aspects and open-ness and honesty follow closely. The advice to maintain and continue your own activities is sound, it is pointless to try to live a life in someone elses world. it is interesting that in the forums, most eople are opposed to LDRs and I'm sure that they have valid reasons for their opinion, but as Laura said, you dont know what you are missing until you try it. I certainly dont regret the experience and am certain my partner and I will be together and happy next year.

What if the person you are trying to end the 'bad relationship' happens to be the parent (father/mother) to your kids? And you want your kids to see their parent...That means you'll always have some sort of contact with them....Even with taking legal help to stop them having any contact with you...

What do you do then....?

Having just read this article, it is so true. I am in a long distant relationship, having found someone on this site, how strange just by answering an email, this has blossomed into a relationship as to say. We have so much in common that is unbeleivable. We try an talk everyday either by msn or by phone, he rings me all the time, I might add the first time I actually spoke to him was daunting, but having said that we now speak of everything,it is really unbeleivable so for anyone who is afraid of the unknown, all I can say is go for it, because if you dont you will never know. Be honest and open, friendship comes first, and if you find that this goes beyond friendship, then take a chance because if its meant to be it will be.

Your ex's...cause this will make it sound like your still hung up on them.

How much money you make or have this will just make your sound shallow.

And a really big no no one first date's don't over do the the compliments cause this will make you sound fake.

marriage talking of this will make you date think your nut's and will have them running away at high speed.

And if you have kids great :D but try not to talk about them to much or your date will be feel that your not interested in him/her

Listen gals out there the body is just a vessel that houses the mind and soul why worry about negative comments from people who don't use their mids and have no soul. Do ya really want to associate with someone like that??? If u live in a glass house and all that jazz. One of the toughest things to overcome in life is not to judge in any way whatsoever, it's a daily ongoing work in progress that you have to practice everyday - it's hard but can be done. How to differentiate the good from the bad degrees is done by looking at the accredidation. There are a whole host of them, ranging from regional to national accredidations of Universities. Regional ones are okay if it's an undergrad degree. For a grad degree to be useful, the accredidation needs to be national.

From the University perspective, churning out online degrees is a huge cash cow. As to the quality, I'd say it depends on the institution and the subject. Some subjects you simply cannot study online. Recently, I've been pretty dismayed by the grads that come out of some established Universities that offer the most bizarre degrees where the fact that they were obtained in residence means exactly nothing.

I don't agree that a photo gets you more dates. It gets you more views and that is exactly what the above article says in the second paragraph, contrary to the headline. "It gets you more attention." More views does not necessarily translate into more dates, but why let logic get in the way of a good story.
