RE: The Art of Writing anything

I am sorry lady but the first few lines of this posting is definately in copywrite infringement!!! And as for you being a published author - yeah maybe on this site but anywhere else and your having wet dreams I reckon!! For someone who calls themselves a published writer you sure make a lot of grammatical, semi-colon and apostrophe mistakes - maybe you need to rethink this whole position and start telling the truth!!

RE: Rejection...dont give up.

I experienced rejection and it was pain. He simply told me that he couldn't go on because he liked to meet girls in the area that he possibly visit someday. Now I think that was a good point in his rejection on me. That he was not a scammer. Though we are careful, sometimes it is a rather difficult for us to know whether some one is a scammer or not. And rejection is a process to make you be somebody new, more mature.

RE: The Art of Writing anything

I wouldn’t know where to start correcting all the grammatical, spelling, and punctuation errors in the above article. Oh all right then, I would know – it was just a figure of speech. How about a capital A for “Anything” in the title? Always a good idea to get the title right!

And as for the metaphors and similes...blimey!

RE: How to Dress to Attract a Man: A Guide for Women over 40

Sorry!!! Don't agree with most of the contents of this article. Why should anyone assume that women over 40 need a change of hairdresser, style etc. ?

I dress how I like. I wouldn't be seen dead in most of the stuff women over 50 are supposed to wear.

I have a youthful general appearance even when naked. Don't understand why I should look like lamb dressed as mutton because my age doesn't match my body type appearance.

Sod the rules and what society thinks!! BTW I hace a 26 year old daughter and we often swap clothes and shoes. Although there are some things of hers that are beyond my borrowing and things of mine she wouldn't be seen dead in!! laugh

RE: The Art of Writing anything

I hate to tell you this lady but you are in copywright infringement - this article that you have supposedly written was actually written by another person - I do not believe you are a writer or even published - you write total gibberish and you make many common errors, both spelling and punctuation, in your postings

RE: A Brief History of Easter

Easter does not have a Hebrew origin.....It is not in the Bible but perhaps one version which added it in. Passover however, was three days and three nights from the original sabbath. Which would make it on MOnday or Tuesday. (Jewish sabbath Friday night dusk to Saturday night dusk) The PAgan origin is about Istar (pronounces Easter) and she marries her son and they have a child named Tammuz, and he is killed by a wild boar. Hence, eating of ham on easter, and Tammuz loved bunnies, the eggs are symbols of fertility. Easter and Passover are not the one and the same.

RE: Profiles in Dating Sites...Whereto?

I believe what you said to be very true and if I may I would make one more point. It is very difficult for many people to articulate, or put into so many words, if you will, exactly how to describe themselves. If they are highly accomplished at something how do they mention that without sounding vain or like a know-it-all? If they are wealthy and are looking for someone in the six figure income brackets how do you say this without opening themselves up to scammers? And let's face it, some of us are quite reluctant to blow our own horns, it is a turn-off! I, personally, like to use a little humor in my own profile as I see it as a filter for the mentally sick, lame, and lazy... and of course if you really want to chase people off mention the fact that you like to work!

RE: We Are All Born with Psychic Ability !

I too have experienced this "gift" that you describe so well. I believe it is your "7th" sense, and needs practice and development to be fully utilized and appreciated. Much like other "skills", people that are truly blessed with it very often do not realize it's true value in their life unless they are fortunate enough to encounter someone like yourself. I can truly say it has literally saved my life more than once, both physically as well as spiritually. I wish you well in this, which I believe to be your "calling". Many thanks for the courage you have displayed in following your "leadings".

RE: "Just friends" between a man and a women: myth or reality?

I misunderstood the original question.
I thought you were asking, "can man and woman be "BEST" friends and stay platonic ? "...
No. In my opinion, if she were my best friend, she would be the one to marry. Without a doubt !
Can man and woman be friends only and stay platonic. Of course they can. Good friends at that.

RE: Thinking about getting a tattoo?

i don;t have a problem with tatoos at all on men or women unless they have too many all on their bodies and they are fully covered in them but that is just my personal opinion and i would never judge anyone for having them on their bodies. i think though a person getting one with their husband or boyfriends name or girlfriend's names shouldn;t be done at all as you don;t know if it will be a permanent relationship or not. it is painful process to remove them i guess but it it is a child's name i think that is a lovely idea as they are a part of you and that is a wonderful reminder of them for you. now it is up to the individual whether they choose to risk going through the pain of having one removed after a break up of a relationship with that spouse or long tme girlfriend or not.that is totally my opinion and doesn;t reflect on anyone else here as it is a personal choice to make and i wouldn;t ever say anyhing bad one way or the other about anyone anyways.

Life After a Stroke

thanks for your comments and i know if it helps someone out there a little bit and offers some hope it will have been worth writing about it.

RE: Life After a Stroke

hi cuddles thank you for posting this article..lot of insight and it will be a help to all who live in the real world where illness, disability and such things exist..

i have worked with special needs at one point in my career and loved working to support them.

no one asks for such things to happen, and it can be a shock to people that i understand, but life is a lot more than just looking good or being fit physically, lots of us get problems as we get older.

your article shows light on something that is outthere..and its real..maybe more will be sympathetic...and less distant...

RE: Do You Believe in Ghosts?

Hello. I do believe in ghosts and not to sound offensive or rude about your article I found it very negative. Where is the balance. There is balance in everything in life. I do belive in ghosts. I've seen them in different forms (always human, and once as a wisp of smoke when there was no means of creating it ). They do not and never have hurt me and I do think that your frame of mind , positive or negative has a bearing on how they are perceived. I only ever got a fright once and that was at night when i was almost asleep and when I would be feeling most 'scared' for want of a better word (vunerable?) and i burned sage(white or ordinary) the next day which is said to clear spirits. I know people think your a weirdo if you say you believe in ghosts but my sister was in the house that night. She heard it before i felt its presence. But I remain positive that spirits will not harm you and they have no such intention. My father is passed away but I still talk to him and sometimes out loud if I need help or am in a difficult situation. My belief is that if you lead a good and healthy life and look at everything with an open mind you have nothing to fear. Life is balanced -for every bad a good will happen to balance it. Namasté ( this is a greeting sanskrit- it means, the spirit in me honours the spirit in you) enjoyed reading your view, hope you can see a point in mine?

RE: Don’t Lose your Identity in a Relationship

awesome advice and 100% accurate. I was once involved in that position but when i lost friends over it i soon realized the needed changes in thinking had to come about. i did manage to recover those friendships through being humble and apoligizing and regaining their trust but it wasn;t easy. i am glad i did and i am happy this site gives such excellent advice out to others as well. thanks for the wonderful honesty and openeness in this article to tell it like it is.

RE: Three Women You Don’t Want to Date: The Damsel in Distress, The Princess, and Your Mother

Well said. I have learned this lesson myself from men. You have to be a well balanced person for a man these days and make those changes yourself for yourself because how do you expect to have a man love you for you if you don;t love yourself first. i was never a princess type but i was a damsel in distres until i realized it and made the changes i needed and now i am perfectly happy with myself as i am not one anymore nor am i a mother type even though i am a mom to my kids. Ladies don;t be offended by this advice but do try to accept that yu may need to change yourself in order to have that thing you covet most in life a happy life with that special man. it is not a big thing and don't think of it as such just do it and you will be amazed at the changes in your life that will happen when u do.

Rejection...dont give up.

hi scatlyn..well thank you for visiting here as well as the poems..and i value your insight here too..while rejection is not an issue for many, there come moments in life when people for various reasons do find themselves out on the rim..no one wants that, but we all are choosy and prefer some more than others..

i am noting your last line scatlyn..its true you can rise from your circumstances, thats the beauty of it all, our life does not depend on the approval of others, nice to get it but not essential..

with God nothing is impossible...He it is that gives us all things..so in Him we can succeed..

thanks a lot scatlyn...for such a insight and lenthy reply..

RE: Rejection...dont give up.

P.S.Those who see us from the outside may be able to see some particular thing we don't, that can be helpful to us. But those worth listening to are the one's who give sound advice, not rejection.
And no one can see the true person inside us - the whole picture. They have no idea of our life's circumstances, what we've been through, what our true motives & intentions are, etc.

One person said it this way "You can't judge a book by it's cover."

RE: Rejection...dont give up.

@joy - Rejection does happen for a reason - often unfair reasons. Some of those would be low income, appearance, a physical handicap, a mental handicap... even rumors started by someone who's jealous, sometimes very vicious rumors, or simply not "fitting in".

As the author stated: maybe we dont sound good/or look good/dress well/maybe we are shy/more thoughtful/wont do wrong things/are not talented and successful..from school days all the way up..seems there is always the shadow of rejection..touching us sometimes...

Sure, there are those who are rejected for a valid reason, though that's rarely the case. And I agree it's a good idea to take an honest view of what someone has said about you, if there's anything true & of value there, use it & learn from it.

The point of the article is to not let your value/worth as a human being be decided by those who reject for some unfair(and often unknown to us) reason given by someone who often turns out to be very judgmental & immature, though we may never know that, and end up basing our value/self-worth on such things.

"my life is not measured by how people view me...", "if not taken for who we are..then better off without them","being free of compromise..we are our own person", ".. be kind and good to yourself...put a value on yourself...for one day you will rise above your circumstance...and be the stronger."

- great advice for anybody thumbs up

Thanks for the article, Serpico, written w/much insight & wisdom - you are a kind & caring person, as evidenced by those who read your wonderful poems in the Poetry Corner, and as evidenced by your compassionate articles as well.
