Photography - recent sunsets

I've been down in Florida since mid December and having lots of fun. applause
as I always do.

One of the many things I enjoy doing is exploring and photographing nature.

So far, I've taken over 2,800 nature photos, which I just finished cropping into a
8" x 10" orientation.

I realize that quite a few of the members here enjoy pictures of sunsets.
So, I selected 16 recent sunset photos to post on here now for your viewing enjoyment.

Let me know which one(s) you like the best.

Also, lets take a vote on which theme the next set of photos you would prefer to see.
Whichever of the following gets the most votes, will be the next one I post.
Would you prefer to see photos of;

Alligators ?
Purple Gallinule ?
Otter ?
Manatee ?
Osprey ?
Great Egret ?
Little Blue Heron ?
Great Blue Heron ?
Green Heron ?
Tricolored Heron ?
Flowers ?
Red Shoulder Hawk ?
Limpkin ?
Lizards ?
Turtles ?

With no further ado, here's the 16 sunset photos;

Hey Jim what kind of camera do you use? I have a Black Body Nikon FTN 1.4 I've been thinking about selling do you have any suggestions on the best venue to do that? There's also has a 300mm Tamron Telephoto that goes with it.
JimN.
Very Nice!......thumbs up
Oh! BTW.
You can show photos of all those you listed. All at one time!
O - To sell your camera try ebay and craigslist. My latest camera is a Canon T6i and I mostly use a Sigma 50-500 mm lens for wildlife. I have a total of 9 lenses.

A - I'm glad you enjoyed the sunsets. No, I don't think I would want to show all the pictures at once.
That would overload the system and go far beyond the attention span of most people.
Those that want, can supplement their desire for more with my webpage.
Gosh JimN.. What beauties you have captured over there.. thumbs up
Amongst all, I like #8 and #14 the most.
You got a few amazing sunsets there Jim. I love seeing sunsets especially with Palm Trees, I love beautiful Palms in the sunset.
Thanks ladies. I'm glad you enjoyed them.
Which topic of those listed did you want to see next ?
Hi JimN, great pics we do have beautiful sunsets here in Florida.

You must be a snow bird, coming to Florida during winter. laugh

cheers my friend
Yes W, I am a happy 'snowbird'. applause
Great shots Jim. Were they taken in or around Stuart?
C - I'm glad you enjoyed them. Some were in Stuart, some were in PSL, some were in Fort Pierce,
one was in NJ and one was in SC on the drive down to FL. All have been since mid December.
I like the 2nd pic the best applause

Thanks for sharing them.

May we have pics of otters the next time around? Why? Well, just because otter sounds like ‘Arthur’? giggle
M - I am currently thinking of posting photos once every other week. So far, Otters leads the voting 1 to 0.
In 2 weeks if it still leads the voting, otters it shall be.
head banger
I like those big lazy water elephants. Forget what we call them but they are very protected and in most of our waterways. I can't believe I forgot what they are called, they are huge, slow and very docile and I'm having an airhead moment.
MANATEE

They are called manatees. You probably don't get shots of them but our rivers are full of them.
Manatee is one of the choices above, as I did photograph them this year.
So far, the voting is; 1 otter : 1 manatee : 0 (the other options)
Love the palm trees and the sunsets.very pretty.
JimN

Like the palm tree sunsets...and love otters...good pics...thumbs up

wine

Thanks, Jim!

Beautiful photos, keep them coning please...I so love sunset photos!grin
I'd love to see a manatee pic please, Jim.
I always think they look so cool.
We don't have them here and I'd love to see them in real life some time.

I came across a sunset pic I took in Spain a couple of years ago. It is nowhere as professional as yours, being taken on a phone from a moving car laugh but the sky looked like candy floss and was just gorgeous.
Some locals call manatees 'sea cows'
We have ‘dugong’ here.

From the internet :-

They are sometimes called "sea cows" as they eat large amounts of sea grass. They live in warm, shallow areas where the sea grass grows. This area includes the north coast of Australia, and in other countries in the Indian Ocean and the Pacific Ocean.

Dugongs are more closely related to elephants than to other sea creatures. Their closest aquatic relative is the manatee, a fresh water species found in America and West Africa.
Cr - Thanks I'm glad you enjoy them. Sunsets are one of my favorite things to photograph. That's one of the reasons I started with them.

Mo - The brilliant colors and uniqueness of each sunset helps make them special.
The position and thickness of the clouds contributes to this.

Ch - I've heard that name also

Mi - I've read that too, although I've never seen a dugong.
Well..well...well...

So, it has come to this, eh?

Otter = 2

Manatee = 2

Hmmmm hmmm I’ll see what I can do about it!

After a few minutes.. lightbulb
Your photos are simply amazing Jim. "Err" Mimi has used her wily ways to coerce me into voting for "otters"also. Thank you. Art
Thanks Art. I'm glad you enjoyed them.....and Mimi's 'wiley' ways. laugh

Voting update Otters 3, Manatee 2, Others 0.
