Following a path

Just a few years ago, I was quite happy with where my life was going... enjoying the ride. The opportunities and the challenges were always there, but one day I realised , after it was made blatantly obvious to me, that something was missing.

What was missing is that I had always had someone to traverse through life with. Someone stopped me cold one day when they asked me if my travels, my challenges in life wouldn't mean more if I had someone to share those moments with.

His perspective was noted. I have mostly traversed my life alone... There are common analogies such as the lone cowboy, the silent soldier, the recluse, the hermit, the troll under the bridge... and well ... grin I have actually compared myself to that last one on many occasions. Who the hell is that goat trip trappin' over my bridge?!?

But that's why we are all here, isn't it? To find that someone who makes our journey worthwhile and maybe we can add something to their life and find our best friend.

Thank you, Waf. My backyard is a beautiful place. smile
Ive only been to Vic once that was 12 years ago it was summer i was amazed at the trees the different shades in the small towns i passed through.wine
Apart from the points you made in the op, having someone special to discuss options when a major decision needs to be made can also be a benefit I feel, apart from anything else it saves having to talk to yourself & looking like a complete loon uh oh laugh rolling on the floor laughing laugh wave
The state is very diverse. I find most countryside beautiful... for the differences. However, Gippsland has moderate weather... and it's beautiful and green .

I haven't seen a lot of New South... but everywhere I have been in Queensland I love, and I love South Australia... and Tasmania. It seems I am easily pleased.
Z... I believe I am only a loon if I begin to respond to myself. laugh
Nope, although we like to think that most of us are here To find that someone who makes our journey worthwhile ,reality is that we are caught in a virtual mist and we`re having a hard time to snap out of it ... grin
Reality is that I am often amused, Boban... and you add to that often. So thank you...for me, this is not a waste, but rather an interesting journey.
Far from it that all this is a waste, I`ve learned a lot right here
I am scared to ask what you have learned on CS , Boban... I have seen some of the conversations you have been involved in.wink
Drove into and out of the weirdest storm ive ever seen at a place called Beachworth. Ive been told by friends who were living down there theres a road out near Hanging Rock thats an optical illusion. Youd swear your going down hill but if you put your car in neautral it will run backwards uphill so it seems.laugh thumbs up
yes we all are here To find that someone who makes our journey worthwhile . but hard to find that someone .
I used to live near Beechworth, it's a beautiful town. In fact, Ned Kelly was jailed there for awhile. Did you have a look at the local historical sites?
Soulmate, sometimes I think our expectations are unrealistic...which is a shame.

Hi Abagail, it is a good thing to share special moments with someone. wine

If you don't have a special someone, do your own thing and enjoy life, travel, etc., and maybe then you'll find your best friend. bouquet
Hi Abagail,

It is always nicer to have somebody to share with, but would he have been happy with someone who is naver at home?

Maybe some jobs are meant to keep you alone, if not lonely.

KNenagh...I have thought the same thing often, to explore to live , rather than to wait for something that may never come along. Nice to see you by the way. daisy
Catfoot ...I believe if there was someone around, I would most certainly spend more time at home. AND truthfully I find my home a haven. I have a beautiful garden and I renovate as well. Currently, I am in the middle of renovations once again... so I do find a balance. Lately with the special project at work, there has been a requirement for me to live out of a case, but that isn't what I would normally do.

Not all of my trips are alone either, I have friends that occasionally go away with... I often choose to be alone, because that's the only way I will meet new people, by exploring outside of my comfort zone.

Ummka...you are most welcome. What a beautiful picture you have there!
