Red Is The Colour
Ever wondered why fire engines are red? It is a question I had often asked when I was a child. The best I could ever get was that flames are red, but they’re not. But now, after all these years I have finally worked it out.Traditionally a fire engine was manned by six fire fighters and six is a half dozen. Eggs are sold by the half dozen and are laid by hens after being fertilized by a rooster.
Roosters are also found on top of church steeples and church steeples are tall structures, almost like a ship’s mast. Ships sail on the sea and there are plenty of fish in the sea, or so I have been told many a time. Most fish (if not all) have fins.
The Fins made war against the Russians and the Russians were known as Reds. So that is why fire engines are red.
Simple as that. I cannot understand why it took me so long.
Have a great day out there.

I Have 2 Nieces and 1 nephew. All of them are in their thirties and married now, but I had my share when they visited me during school holidays. No thank you dear, but I'll have to stand you up on this one. Friendship only goes so far!
Z, I just followed your link and I'm still laughing. Our newspapers come short by miles. Very funny.
@ Z
From the article: The correct pronunciation of the egg's name is actually Foo koo pee.
That doesn't sound right either.
That is the way that Geoffry Boycott would pronounce it. He has - to my ear - the weirdest of accents. When he spoke about runs he pronounced the runes. 'My round' sounded like marooned!
Z, the joys of the internet. It probably has a very innocent meaning in Japan, but pronouncing it "English" just gives it a whole new meaning.
The local slang here will translate this to be a small error. I guess here we would have to drop the last two letters to describe the magnitude their error accurately!
You're right. And the oriental countries often make some very funny mistakes in their operating instructions. One would think if you are exporting your products you should get the language right.
It mightn't even cross people's mind to check, one example the Swiss singer DJ Bobo. I don't think I need to explain the Spanish meaning of bobo to you.
Stefffie, is this your work?
It symbolzes the sunrise. In nature there are only two basic colours -red and green.Red is the flower red is the blood, red is the sun, i just love read. For me the most alive colour.
Hmm, red is also one of my favorite colours, but blue is my top colour. As you say, it is alive.
