WORLD'S PROGRESS IN THE EQUALITY OF MEN AND WOMEN

There are three major regions of the World when it comes to the quantitative as well as qualitative analyses as to the progress in treating women as equal to men.

The First, Second, and the Third world. The Western part of the planet is of course where the first and second qualify which is about 20 percent of the total humanity while the third is comprised of the 80 percent and living under poverty.

When we look at the progress, I am more inclined towards the first and second as of course, the very source of this perception and application is championed by freedom and independence specially in the field of socio economic and political arena.

Today, while I agree that there are so many obstacles and challenges that continuously impair and obstruct such a growth, we have without a doubt,. have progressed to a considerable height that is even beyond my expectations.

I believe, I would credit this achievement towards the very conduct and liberal minded mentality of so many men and continue to support this legacy which is a mirror of the world's commitment to a genuine struggle and effort towards humanity and equality.

This blog is not about who is BETTER BETWEEN MEN AND WOMEN. It is about acknowledging our commendable effort to continue our road to the champions of equality and as such embrace it for better understanding of the world and our road to progress.

How do you feel about it?

Thank you so much for all your contribution, comments and opinions.l

Butterfly my friend, take a breather and tomorrow you'll feel better
Hello SR,

How are you doing?

I am all for equal rights for everyone. But, I do wonder with all the women entering the workforce, is the traditional family structure going to suffer? Now days there is a large number of divorces and a lot of single parent households. It seems to me, that society has taken a major change, and it happen rather quickly. Maybe it is for the better, but it certainly is different.

In addition, there also seems to be a shortage of jobs. With more people now in the workforce, this will lead to unemployment. One could even speculate, lower wages for everyone. Supply and demand...more supply of workers and lower demand for them, leads to less value of a worker = lower wages.

@lindsy I feel just fine, but thanks hug just voicing my opinion conversing
I should clarify my previous comment a little. I am not saying its any one gender's issue. Both men and women are involved in our families and our workforce. Perhaps our society today is seeing the results from inequity of the past. I do not think inequity should have existed in the first place and certainly should have not lasted so long.

Good save...lol...
I understand your comments...a blog by lind long ago about feminism covered this issue...we all have our talents...but at some point women regarding the traditional structure, were cast aside...meaning if we we are not self sufficient anything could happen...poverty for one...an idyllic lifestyle beckoned us us in the fifties and sixties...but no one could keep up that lifestyle...people have their faults...no one is perfect and this structure may not be the be all and end all...people want different things and needs...selling that lifeslyle was the problem...not everyone wants this...
L.L., you make perfect sense. I re-read my previous comment and it did come across a little one-sided.

Not to mention, I re-read my second comment...and inequity should be inequality.

Maybe I should start re-reading my posts....before posting them. :)
Heya Lindsy,

Eh, I dont quite understand all the big words here on your blog. I need a bronta-Thesaurus to figure out what all these words mean.. lol. laugh

We as people, no gender mentioned have different skills...who is in charge with valuing the work done...that is the problem...
It's a mans world...but it is changing...not soon enough I feel, women need the respect they so rightly deserve, everywhere !...I would not wish to be a women, but I'll back them up every step of the way...my mum is the reason I feel this way ....

Lou I was reading all the comments and I believe I short changed Virgo.

I apologize Virgo and I'm so appreciative of the varied yet legitimate inclusion of the women in Middle East.

I'm so sad about their plight which alone can be a blog unto its own.

I'm aware and have some friends that not only were brutally subjected to the unjust infliction of punishment but also totally destroyed and fatally crashed.

Now again, awareness for the women and acceptance for the men can spur and give way to this road, but until then there's nothing much we can do.

Thank you so much again Virgo.
Johnny thanks so much.

How are you.

Yes indeed. A totally different society from the old Johnny. We see more radical evolution because not only of the population growth but because of the global movement of the world
Robert goid morning.

Thanks for your visit as always.
Indeed Johnny thanks for the clarification. In a way it was inevitable as the need of emphasizing the inherent roles made for us had to evolve but look how far we have come.

Thanks again Johnny.
On Virgo and his most notable comment regarding us parents to raise our SON AND START FROM THE BEGINNING.

YES WHAT A NOBLE RESPONSIBILITY INDEED.

Thanks again Virgo
Ian thanks.

The insecurity part maybe a partial reason but lack of respect on the possibility of what we ca do is to me the main obstacle.

If we recognize and allow us to exhibit that capability and then go from there.

Yes I clarified in the beginning comments that our physical strength generally falls more favorably to men but neither can you function on the nourishment of the first stage of life' s most crucial development.

Thanks again Ian
Hi LJ, wave in a lot of cases culture and religion made sure that women are not treated equally. I am thankful I grew up in the culture and country I did. handshake

What I do find appalling that even today some women bring up their sons different to their daughters! I have a friend with 1 son and daughters and the son gets away with murder and the girls will be rebuked. She has a great job etc. btw. uh oh

These things aside - at some stage we all grow up and it is OUR OWN responsibility how we LET people treat us, at least in private.

I learned to stand up for myself and live an independent life and looking at some women (in Western society) it is their own fault if they let themselves be treated badly. roll eyes

Let me know my friend and mail me will you?
My concern with women getting political is that you demand equality without considering properly what equality even is or the added responsiblity that comes with such emPOWERment. It's just one great big cry of Gimmedat! Or so it seems. I believe that if it was left to the women you would rather live equally in a miserable world that doesn't work than be inequal in a proud world that works... At least until the debt bubble bursts and things get tough - which is why many younger milliennial women are rediscovering a sense for tradition and gender role.

Anyway, feminists remind of the loser end of socialists: those that would rather everyone lived in decrepit poverty than for there to be a gap between rich and poor.
But I guess the fact that no one hears the term "Glass cellar" but everyone knows the term "Glass ceiling" says a lot about how people actually view equality. That is, equality only applies upwards - no one can be better than you and there are no social superioirs - and not downwards - rarely will a person even acknowledge their social inferioirs.

And so is it any wonder that the western world of equality where no one can be better than you but people can sure as hell be worse than you has created generations of selfish, narcissistic and egotistical lunatics?
I'll get back with you Obs.

Thanks

Obs, +I do feel the direction of your frustration on such a move. But first, whether you like it or not, it is the road that is already paved deep for women to embrace.

Let's face it, your premise on the equality of both miserable and or successful society has nothing to do with this blog.

My point being is that we have progressed and that is through the effort of men and women and the whole society to nourish its growth.

While it is very sad to know that a man like you seem to oppose such a inevitable consequence, I believe you are too focused on your limitations than the possibility of dancing with the music where it doesn't matter whether it is led by either you or me.
