You can get into such a world of trouble talking to kids! I was walking the dog with a friend when we saw a kid fallen off her bike and crying, he took the dog home while I checked the girl was okay, then walked her to her house, pushing her bike and keeping it between us. Her mother looked at me as though I'd knocked the kid off her bike myself ...

Pity about the sales pitch at the end, interesting video
I can understand why some people didn't want to help the girl.Maybe they didn't wish to help for fear of being accused of trying to do harm to the little girl.

There are times when I don't wish to get involved when being approached by someone whether it be a child or an adult.

Ever hear of the saying "No Good Deed Goes Unpunished"
I will help this little girl until she reach home. I will not be happy if just sending her a penny and let her home alone. And yet, I will ask the number of her parents and waited them to come.

I almost helped a babies, prematured, toddlers in the hospital when I was working. I helped them to survive from their illness until they recovered.

My heart is big for them. Those are innocents little one.
heart beating heart wings
Without a doubt I would help.
Usually I very first inquired help in necessary or not, if I see confused/upset/lost child on the street alone.
Children are so vulnerable.
Hi Viv,

Sad what the western world has become. So much emphasis on children rights etc. but the the majority of the population seems to have more important things on their minds, yet when it comes to actually helping a distressed kid,,,God help the one who brings home the injured child. Its a typical scenario of 'don't shoot the messenger'..bouquet
Hi Mr.T,
I am inclined to agree with you. And to think this is actually happening on a regular basis. Scary when one thinks about it. Thanks for the comment handshake cheers
Hi Cc,
To me the guy that brushed her off was a total A-S-S. Probably rushing to get a fix.
With kids its difficult for me to ignore their plea for help.

Hope you have a great day.bouquet

Other than making a phone call and waiting for help to arrive (a family member or the police), I will not do anything. And I will never give them money. Here they use such plays to get money.doh
Hi Pea,

I do believe you when you say this. I have noticed that Asian women are very maternal toward all children. Some in the Western world could learn from this.bouquet
Hi Fiona,
Always wise to make sure that the child is really in need of help. Most folk will help but there are those that 'prey' on situations like in the video. Have a great daybouquet
Hi Cat, so true. Here the parents leave their kids at a busy traffic light intersection then sit and watch from a distance as the kids beg on their behalf. Sad that even kids at a very young age can be used in this manner to rip off 'caring' adults..cheers
Just a nice song.
for not scolding...doh grin
The absolute most appropriate thing for someone to do if the Mom is not in sight is simply dial 911 to report a lost kid, then ask the kid to wait with you and wait with the kid for the cops to arrive. Do not attempt to forcibly restrain the kid if the kid wishes to leave. Just stay there, give the cops the description of the kid and tell them what they said/did.
I would have let her re-track her journey then taken her to the nearest police station where I'm sure would have been her mother's first place of call.

Someone tried to get my ten yr old daughter into their car right outside our house.

I still have nightmares.

The most important lesson we should learn when growing up is how to care and respect our fellow man and not how to earn money.

Hi Crazy,
Must've been hell losing your kid and what a relief to find him unharmed.

Here in Africa many kids go missing, and when they are eventually found their body parts have been removed for 'witch doctors muti'(medicine} So you can imagine the anguish the parents go through when their kid is missing. Not saying it happens all the time but yes at times.
Tat.

You cant blame the people who just brushed her off? Wow!

Maybe in Japan you guys have many such 'social experiments' but here when a kid goes missing its a real concern. Most times if the lifeless body is found then at least the parents have some sort of closure on the matter. Here the use of kids body parts for muti is rampant.

Personally I would advocate for more awareness campaigns in this line.

Lucky you that the Japan police are prompt cos here one has difficulty in even trusting the cops.
Hi LL,

Thats the reason I posted. And yet some people would have been oblivious to the whole deed. Ok I know this was being filmed but how many kids in RL are being watched from the sidelines by these nutters.very mad
Ken,

Glad to see you are better.
Agreed if one can trust the cops.cheers
Hi CR,
Personal experience is the best teacher when it comes to real life situations and how to handle them. Happy your kid escaped without any injury whatsoever.bouquet
OOps the above comment is for RC and not CR...laugh sorry..
Hi Z, Thats the way it should be.thumbs up
@ Luke, my comment is in line with life in the Phils, my home country. H ere in Japan, most crimes committed against children are committed by the child's relatives, ie, the parents or some other relations. With so many children get killed, people here in Japan are well informed and all they have to do is call 110. And really the Jpolice are very prompt. One of the amazing thing in this country! In my home country, so many social experimentations and besides in my previous post I just can't get the right word and now I remember, the girl doesn't look in distress and she seemed to have fun asking people. Definitely not a sign of someone who is really lost. But whatever and wherever, I'd call the police and if ever, I'd do some follow up call. Not that I'm callous but so many dramas around, one can never be sure which is which. Maybe I've been reading too much crime stories.
Also I have to google muti after this. My first encounter with the word.
