“Things No One Told Me"

Life isn't fair. Throughout different stages of our lives, something is going to happen that we didn't count on, weren't expecting, and no one told us about.

I feel angry when it happens. Especially when it takes me by surprise and catches me off-guard. Some things make me sad or even cry.

How many of these things have you felt or suffered?

Who knew that your parents would get divorced? That your sister would be given up for adoption? My brother died of an Aids related disease. I thought that my grandparents would live forever. I loved their stories and the way that they always loved me and gave great advice.

Did you know that your heart would get broken over one kiss? The one kid at school that you had a crush on, could make you feel like dying? How about how embarrassed you were when the kids in your class made fun of you?

Why didn't someone tell me that my marriage wouldn't last no matter how hard I tried to keep it together? That we have no control over what the other person decides? How about those with children? Who knew that the government could find ways to take them from you?

And death, one of the most cruel things that could happen to anyone. Why is it so painful for some who have to endure years of suffering, and yet others die peacefully in the night? Why do little babies die after only a few seconds of being born? Did someone tell you about that when you got pregnant and were so happy to be having a child?

No one ever told me that strangers could take away your virginity, steal your identity, rob you of all of your possessions, drive drunk and kill someone that you knew and loved. I could be homeless despite working my entire life, or that I would be forced to apply for food stamps so that I didn't go hungry.

No one said that the things you watch on tv actually happen in real life. I didn't know that one day I could come home and there would be no home due to a fire, flood, or a default on the mortgage. Maybe your family left without saying goodbye. Perhaps you didn't know what bad food was supposed to look like and you ate it and got sick. No one tells you what a stranger looks like, and you aren't supposed to talk to them, but everyday you say hi to one or more whenever you go to the store with your parents.

I don't think we will ever know all of the things that we should know to keep us safe, healthy, alive and informed. All we can do is try to adjust, read, and keep alert. Do our best not to take anything or anyone for granted.

Words of Wisdom

Have you ever found words to live by or had good advice given to you? My parents made sure that I was taught good manners. Be polite, to sit up straight, eat with your mouth closed, don’t put your elbows on the table, make sure that your bed is made, brush your teeth daily, wash your hands before you eat or touch any food. Blow your nose in private.

Do you wish you had been given certain advice or guidance earlier in your life? For me personally, yes. I wish that I had been taught how to date, how to recognize people who have drug and drinking problems, to know when you are being lied to, how to better handle finances, to be informed about dental care in its entirety, and to not rush into decisions too quickly.

Did someone hear your message or advice and use it to guide them in making a decision, or help them with a personal issue?

People at work told me that they valued my work ethic and the way that I conducted myself. I would not give advice if I had not been in their shoes, or had that experience for myself. The information so freely given and delivered off of the tip of a tongue these days is often just something that they heard or read about from somewhere. I have found that much of it is outdated, unpractical, and ill-advised. If you haven’t done the research and followed through for yourself on the advice that you are dishing out, then please don’t give it nor share it. It only causes heartache, frustration, and confusion in the end for the person on the receiving end of it.

Please feel free to share your words of wisdom with us. It might bring back memories, a few laughs, and maybe someone will learn from it as well. Thank you!

The Ongoing Deal With My Family!

And this deal is way better than the alleged "Real Deal" at "Micky D's"! I speak of my family of 2 daughters and one son that have given me 4 delights. Yes, my G-kids!

Over the years I have seen my kids grow up, get their degrees, get married and make wonderful homes for themselves. So when I visit them the joy has multiplied because of the sweet pets and the gorgeous G-kids.

I walk in and they all swarm over me. It's as if I never moved away and I still see them daily. We can't get enough of each other. The kids walk to their little occupying stuff and they keep great conversations going. The little tykes walk all over me and hug me and move on to the next activity their little brains are thinking. The bigger G-kids sit next to me and cuddle under Gramps stinky armpits and we talk .... or maybe we won't talk. Does it matter? They're here and now and I am enjoying it as they are too, I am sure!

The animals are just as loving. Weenie the Dachshund hangs all over my feet. She's getting old now and her back is tormented by Rheumatism. The cat, Tommie, just meanders back and forth. Stepping on the keypad for a caress. And it's so funny! As I type right now he just cuddled up behind me and is snoozing!

What can I want more than their love for me and my love for them. I thank OUR Amighty God for everything HE gives me. And HE has given me alot!

One of my daughters has a mean dog but that's ok. This dog is completely loyal and guards the family well. I cannot say anything against this pet because he loves my family. His masters!! The 2 kids that grew up with him are so thankful for this dogs loyalty. So there, what more can I ask for. My family is safe!

My other daughter has a tiny little Chihuahua. I call her "Chaquita Chahooahooa". Silly me, but I love silly. My daughter at this home and I have a good laugh over all the silly.

I go back home tomorrow and I am already planing another visit and soon!

Will You Be My Roommate for Life?

Embedded image from another site

Where are you hiding, my darling?
Are you missing me, your other half?
Let's come as one to fill our hearts
To show each other that love is true.

Full of me? I've not yet been through
Waiting for the crew to sail on the ship
Keep exploring until we finish
Inspire next generation with endless stories

My biggest dream, oh you know it's family
With cozy nights with frequent smiles on face
As the home nothing can replace
Will you be my roommate for life? ??

Oldest Egyptian God

"Tis true without error, certain & most true." [A partial (one of the verses) translation of the Emerald Tablet, found in the personal papers of Issac Newton after his death.]

This may or may not relate to ancient Sumerian texts and the DNA of Homo Sapiens.

Probably the oldest Egyptian god was a female named Neith. Mention of her is found in the writings of the Old Kingdom and the Lower Valley before the unification. Neith was a female. She is a god of many things. Hunting, war and the flood. Before Neith there were no others.

She was androgynous and she birthed her son Ra, Apep and Sobek in the time when there were no births and no males. The symbol of her name is two back to back bows with a shield between them and crossed arrows. When the Greeks came and Egypt was Hellenistic, this symbol was also seen as a loom and she was known to be the weaver of all things.

To the Greeks she later became known as Athena. To the Minoans she became the Earth Goddess, Gaia. She is also sometimes perceived and portrayed as a cow goddess with a line of stars across her back, similar to Io, the mistress of Zeus. She was sometimes known as the sky goddess and the originator of life.

As a goddess of War, she was also associated with death and protecting the bodies and souls of the dead. Her image graces the jar that holds the abdominal contents of Tutankhamen. She is also known as the virgin mother goddess. It is not inaccurate to say she held many roles and many things flowed from the tales of her.

In the time of the first war against the enemies of creation Neith rescued Mehet (who later became her regent, but not a mate for she had none) and used the flood to drown the enemies of life. Meith's willingness to kill the enemies of life and her skill with the bow and arrow also earned her the nickname of 'the terrifying one.' <It must be noted that in the set aside Hebrew 'Book of Jubilee' the purpose of the flood was as a weapon to kill off the Watchers, Angels who had transgressed against God's instructions. Further noted the One God was known in Egypt as Atun, but the Ancient Sumerians called the leader of the gods (small g) who had forbidden making their Man creation fertile Anu and a great war ensued when Anu's instructions were not followed.>

Neith was also viewed as the keeper of records and history of the gods. When the Greek Plato wrote in his Critiasof the travels of Solon, Plato reported that in the Temple of Neith in the City of Sais, Egypt were written tablets containing records and secrets which went back at least 9,000 years (back then).

With the coming of the Middle Kingdom of Egypt the temple of Neith fell into disuse and it's actual location is now long forgotten. I know of no archaeological efforts to find that temple and any remnants of the tablets that may lay in or under it's ruins.

Alas poor Neith. I toast thee for you may have indeed been the first Eve and the mother of all of us. wine

Hmmmm! So "Txt'ing" is the Secret to Family Commun

About a month ago my youngest daughter came to visit me. She brought her friend Lisa and they both started giving me a bad time about my "old fashioned phone". You woulda thunk I was carrying an old rotary phone in my pocket. No, it was a small black cell phone with no special features (app's??) and not the "smart phone" style.

They said, I needed one where I could "txt" and something more modern. I was happy with what I had and when they said, "Well, you know they're going to discontinue that phone soon" I replied "I can wait til then". I am learning a new language so I also replied, "I have no need for bling".

This little black phone shaped like a wad of tar was doing a lot of "failed calls" and just failing all around. I called my carrier, used to be phone company, and the rep told me I had a SIM card in it that wouldn't work in my area too well. When he told me the companies name I started to lose my control.

First of all when I opened the account I was told they were using a reputable phone system that I was comfortable with and the SIM card was that companies SIM card. But oh no! They sent me a phone with another carriers SIM cad knowing that this SIM card was not good in the area I lived.

I cancelled and opened an account for less money with unlimited "txt"ing" and phone calls for one price. It was perfect but little did I know how "perfect". I'm not a "txt'er". I like to hear a voice and in particular my children's voices. So I started calling my kids with this new phone and I couldn't reach them. Imagine, with a cell pone they carry in their purse?!?! So I had this revelation. I would "txt" them.

HA HA HA!! My phone lit up with return "txt's" and the rest is history! They wanted to know what kind of phone, what my rates were and on and on with how many "apps"!! OK, I'm learning and I didn't know what to answer.

So, ok, maybe I can't hear their sweet voices but I hear their sweet "txt's"!!

It Was "Cali" Time Last Week!

I decided last week to visit my kids and grandkids in California last week.

I took Amtrak and then the Metro Line and landed in Ontario. CA where my son lives. His beautiful wife and the G-kids greeted me so wonderfully I was pushed to extreme happiness because of this love!

Needless to say, his dog just couldn't get enough of me nor the cat. These 2 pets are the best. When I woke up after overnight they were with me in my bed. All snuggled up like 3 pupa's in a cocoon!!

I got re-acquainted with my new G-son, Gabe. He knew I was a stranger and he looked me over for awhile. But in a short time we were pals. His older brother, Leo, was all over me too. They also love their Mom and Dad to the max. When one of them leaves the house to go shopping you should see the excitement in the kids eyes when they walk through the door. Heck the dog and the cat too. Leo and the pets run to the Mom or Dad and Gabe crawls to them as fast as he can.

I know I have mentioned this before but my siblings were a pain in the neck. But God rewarded me with a great family. And my son is just 1/3 of it.

During the week I went to stay with my sisters. They are getting very old now and are not really able to take care of themselves properly. I have offered to live with them, and even pay rent, but they refuse my help. I can't figure my siblings out. But simply put they have never been loving towards me. I have long ago accepted this but I know they need to be watched. But because of their attitude towards me it's not as carefully as it should be. Yes, they are obstinate!

The week also meant a visit with my niece, Cecelia. She is a darling and a real delight. She has the manners and attitude of a saint. We spent the day together and we also went for our favorite pasttime meal. A cheeseburger together. She has never been accepted by my siblings because she in not a blood relative. She was adopted by my late brother, a man she proudly called and loved as her Dad!

The weekend was then spent with my daughter and pal, Carly. She is the twin sister of my son and we have a great relationship. Quite simply, we love to hang. She drove me back to Arizona and we spent the weekend at the Casino where I work. She "fell in love" with the guitar player then she left to go home.

I am so proud of my family. They have all done well and they deserve everything they have.

Yes, I love my family very much!

Where has Robert gone?

Does anyone know what happen to Robert? Is he going to return? I think he has yet to post the final chapter of his Indiana Jones (CS version) story.

....not to mention his sense of humor is missed.

I have noticed that for the most part...CS turns into a serious fest without him....well, at least for me.

But...

Maybe he found the love of his life and is no longer needs to be here. dunno
