Biden gave the state of the union address last night and have to say Joe wasn't sleepy in the least bit. He was clear, powerful and covered many topics stating facts and figures, especially with border security.

I didn't expect them to chant "Four more Years, Four more Years"

Trump is in need of quick cash and only a few wealthy people on the planet who can pull from their pocket to help him out on a loan. The Saudi Prince, Jared Kushner, Vladimir Putin, Jeff Bezos, Warren Buffet, Bill Gates, Charles Koch... and Elon Musk of Tesla, SpaceX and Twitter/X fame.

It's reported this past Sunday, Elon was at Mar-a-Lago along with a few wealthy Republican donors to have a private discussion.

I'm thinking about the future and should Trump lose any of his federal cases, he would be officially convicted of a felony. Thus anyone fronting money (as in aiding and abetting) to a felon, it in itself is a crime.

Picture this - you match with someone on a dating app and get talking. It goes quite well, and you joke around while still maintaining a somewhat serious getting to know each other type of conversation.

At some point - silence. Not a peep for three days. You begin to form a message in your head like "Hey, did I say or do something you didn't like or approve of? Because if so, I am sorry", only to be met with "profile deleted".

That happened to me - and it's not the first time, which makes me wonder if there's something wrong with me, or if I have to change my whole approach to talking to people online. The only thing I can think I did wrong is jokingly say "I am available at that day. Just saying!" when she named the food she was going to make. Again - it was a joke. I would never force anyone to meet me if they didn't want to. I also made that clear to this person.

I have also experienced being ghosted several times, and being asked for money a few times. One person asked me if my family was rich. When I said no, I was blocked.

Maybe online dating isn't for me. The last time I met someone on a dating app, we went for a coffee but she decided that nothing more would come of it, because of what she called "multiple red flags" - which left me pretty dumbstruck, since I didn't do anything red flag stuff. We walked and talked for an hour, so I am not entirely sure why multiple red flags were shown.

Maybe it was my video gaming, the way I talked or what I ate. I simply don't know, because she refused to say what those red flags were.

Maybe I'll just stay single. It's working out pretty well so far, anyway

Back in late September 2022, I bought a gaming chair. It was one of those clever chairs that could go completely horizontal, and it was textile, which I thought would be very comfortable. However, when I got the chair assembled and sat down, it was like sitting on a rock. It was bad. But I decided to keep it, because.. Well, it could go completely horizontal. The coolest thing ever! However, my back soon decided to say "Nah, not gonna work today", and I experienced terrible pain.

Fast forward to November last year, when one of the wheels snapped off. The welding had given way. so it was wonky, because.. Well, a wheel was missing. So what did I do? I took all of them off, as you do. I then had to drag the chair whenever I wanted to play on my Xbox, so I decided to spend some more money and buy a new chair. This month has been expensive.. Anyway!

I decided to treat myself, so I bought rubber wheels for the chair and a PVC mat for the floor. The wheels and mat came the day before yesterday, and the chair came yesterday. I bought a mesh chair, which is supposedly very good for your back. Maybe it's all in my mind, but I really can feel a difference. My old chair forced me to shimmy every 15 minutes - this new chair has not forced me to shimmy once. So in that regards - it's money well spent. I am happy with my purchase.

Speaking of things to be happy about - work.

A few blogs back I spoke about being team-lead in training. These past few days, I have felt like they are slowly ramping up my training. I could also imagine this, but it really feels like I am being slowly turned into a team leader. I am in charge of the warehouse phone from 4 to 5 pm, and most of the drivers come to me if they have any issues regarding their orders. It's quite nice, actually. I keep joking about wanting a raise, but there IS some element of truth to it. I would love a raise. I have been at the same salary since I started. I need to have a talk with my logistics manager about it. It's not important, because my salary is pretty good as it is. It's above $20 an hour. That's all I want to share about that. But with this new job load comes new challenges, that I have to figure out. Some of the challenges are easy, but some can get pretty tricky. But - there is still much to learn and obsess over.

Speaking of obsession - I have a new one, and it's food related! I am on a quest to make the perfect sandwich. I sometimes buy a chicken/bacon/chili mayonnaise sandwich from the fuel station across the road from where I work. It's good, but I know I can make it better. I tried to make one today, and while it was decent, it wasn't the perfect sandwich. I need to get the ratios correct. I will make one for lunch tomorrow, and I'm gonna tweak some things about it. Mainly less chili mayonnaise and more carrots and chicken, and possibly adding some cucumber. The level of lettuce was perfect, so I have that going for me regarding that. I will make the sandwich tomorrow morning, because overnight in the fridge will make the sandwich all soggy and ew..

Lastly - we have two new people in the house. I have met both of them, but only talked to one of them. I am sure the other person will come around, but if not - well that's okay. I heard the other person is only staying here for a few months anyway, so no point in making friends. However, I do say hello when I meet him in the kitchen or in the hallway. He seems pretty chill, so maybe one day we'll have a full on conversation

But think about it for a moment. What kind of leader creates a disaster like the open border? Who does that? Even Warren Harding didn't do anything that foolhardy, and Warren was a dunce.

And what kind of leader slaps onerous regulations on the fuel industry in the name of global warming, failing to understand that higher energy costs will ignite inflation? Who does that? Not Herbert Hoover. As bad as he was with the great depression, he didn't start it.

And what kind of leader calls the Afghan withdrawal a complete success? Jimmy Carter didn't come close to doing that, and his foreign policy was brutal.

So, for all you Biden voters, a simple request: Please think about what the deuce you are doing.

I wish I had a dollar for every video or story produced about getting your gear to sound EXACTLY like Jimi Hendrix.
Over the course of his career he used lots of different guitars and amplifiers but toward the end, it was a Fender Stratocaster guitar and several Marshall 100watt Plexi series amplifiers. He also popularized a VOX Wah-wah pedal and some effects pedals like fuzz and Octavia that produced high octaves and distortion.

Here are some essentials the guitarists often miss.
Hendrix was Left-handed and usually played a right-handed guitar with the strings reversed.
He tuned it a half step lower than standard and used mis-matched sets of strings where some of the middle strings had a thinner gauge, yielding a more 'twangy' sound and easier to do note bending.

Finally... (actually not) it was his 'feel' for the instrument as it was said he often carried his guitar to parties and nightclubs, rarely letting it out of his sight. Also important, Hendrix had long slender fingers and could wrap his thumb around the top of the neck playing the bass notes other guitarists couldn't reach. Most of the fast players (Steve Vai for example) have long fingers... it goes with the territory.

So, if you are trying to mimic Hendrix... I suggest 'keep at it' for the next 2 decades as there was only ONE Jimi.

For years, Jordan Klepper from the Daily Show brought out the best (and worst) of the mindset in voters. I've seen episodes of him at Trump rallies, trying to find logic with the illogical and how he exposed people with total contradictions in their belief about the candidates.
This episode is about Nikki Haley supporters just days before she suspended her campaign after losing in Super Tuesday.
Titled KLEPPER VS. "NEVER TRUMPERS" Jordan, interviews some die-hard Haley supporters who said they would never vote for Trump again. When asked who they would vote for if Haley dropped out... well, their answers are surprising.
