Due Process Of Law

What is this country of America coming to? Are we to allow someone to be tried and judged and punished without due process of Law? Whether you like Donald Trump or don't like him he deserves Due Process
Bu the states of Maine and Colorado have tried and convicted him without due process of the Law
Even the worst criminal we have ever seen or the worst criminal to come that is obviously guilty without a doubt
is always afforded an attorney and a trial by judge or jury.
If this situation is to stand without push back with the law behind it this United States is on it's way to hell
If it is not there already
Who can stand against what I have just said? If you are against what I have said you are filled with hate

Our planet....we are being told it is a sphere.

I am not saying it isn't a sphere...however, there are some out there who are trying to make a case that our planet is flat.

I have a question. But first, imagine you are looking at a globe. It is round (sphere), like a basketball right? Are we not being told that is the shape of our planet? We are being told that our planet spins on its axis. The north pole stays north and the south pole stays south...correct?

Okay, when you are visualizing this globe. What do you notice if you were to travel to the south pole? Would not somebody at the south pole technically be upside down? That person must have a lot of blood rushing to his/her head. And what about if you are at the equator, you must be standing sideways?

What do you think?

Is the planet still a sphere or flat?

I have a question

but blog rules do not allow me to use the question as a Blog title, so here it is..

In the coming Nuclear War, presuming you are one of the 100,000 humans who will still be surviving 2 years later, what item do you think you will miss the most about our former civilization?

I will name a few of my own 'I am sure I will miss them.'
Chocolate
Ice Cream, many flavors of
fresh fruit and canned sliced peaches
beef steaks
eating fish
good TV shows and movies
the Internet
Walmart, Lowes and Target stores (open ones, not burnt out ruins where one was once upon a time)
Fresh coffee beans
strawberry shortcake
Being able to come home without showering before entering
cooking on a gas flame vs burning radioactive wood with radioactive smoke
A fresh source of LIon batteries as they usually are only good for about 500 recharges
new underwear
new dungarees
new shoes and boots
dogs, cats and birds
bug spray

That's off the top of my head. What will be on your list of most missed items?

Music on hold...

It's the end of the year and I'm calling around to Medicare, Social Security, insurance companies, banks, mortgage company to do updates. Social Security is open all night and for some odd reason the recorded message says there is a long wait time as they are receiving an extremely a high call volume.
WTF... it's 2am.
So 55 minutes of waiting on hold and one song playing in a loop was enough to memorize. Too bad I wasn't near a guitar or piano as I could have figured out the tune.

Moving out of Washington

Once my lease is up in the summer, I'm putting Washington State to the rear bumper and hitting for Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, or even South Carolina (leaning towards Florida). Minimum wage increases resulting in tax increases, as well as lack of payments of apartment rents by many during Covid has raised the cost of living, has made this place unbearable. Combine that with the migration of the homeless straight from either Oregon or California, and now I have to keep my head on a swivel every time I go outside. Heck, I have to do that at my place of work, which is the mall where vagrants have come inside to make trouble!

It would be nice to have someone come along for the ride, or maybe meet me at that final destination away from the Pacific Northwest.

Aside from that, anyone else wanting to leave the Pacific Northwest/California? If so, why? If not, why not?

You didn't learn your lesson the first time...

I always have to chuckle when I see a profile of a widow in her 40's looking for a man 20 to 40 years older. What... they didn't learn the first time? The (out of reality) problem is making a statement you want a man to be with you for the rest of your life.

Logically, when she reaches retirement (around 65) if he is still living would be 90 years old so the chances of him being around for the rest of your live are very slim. Very slim and you can visit him in assisted living facility if you don't plan to be his nurse.

Not punishment enough in my opinion

A woman in Brazil has been charged with attempted murder after she admitted chopping off her husband’s p*nis and flushing it down the toilet, once she found out he had had sex with her 15-year-old niece.

The woman handed herself into police and has explained how she found out about the man’s cheating with the 15-year-old relative and lured him into bed, tied his arms and legs and cut off his p*nis with a razor.

The keeper of old photos...

My parents collected photos. Mostly family relatives and friends... no too many landmarks or scenic views. They were attached to pages in albums with names, dates and sometimes marked with the locations or occasions.

Most of the photos were glued to the pages and others were attached with small 'corner holders' so it was easy to remove and read the information on the back, usually written in pencil.

When we moved from New York to Miami, the albums were kept in a tweed suitcase in a storage room in the back of the house and only a few photos were in the living room on display. Sadly that part of the house was an addition before my parents bought the place and an undetected the roof leak damaged a portion of the photos stored there.

Sifting through moldy pages stuck together, I salvaged as much as I could. They were moved to a storage shed and when I sold the place, they were moved into plastic bins and are on my screened in back porch.

I have 2 cousins who retired from New York and moved to Florida, both a few miles from me. During WWII, my dad was in the navy and their dad was in the air force. At one point, the brothers met up and I've got 2 photos of the meeting. Not sure of the location and exact date, it's believed to be the only photos of them together in uniform!

I high-res scanned the photos and emailed them to my cousins who were 'blown away' by this, as their father was shot-down on a mission in Europe and a POW for several years.

A niece contacted me last night asking if I had photos of her father. Yes, of course and also one of her aunt she often stayed with. I'm not sure how a torn portrait of the woman came into my possession, but I scanned it and fully restored the digital image. I'll send those out later today.

Years ago, some of the old photos were scanned and copied to hard drives and backed up on portable drives. I'm taking a few days off this week and should be able to get more photos scanned and uploaded to my collection.

My ex-wife did some part-time modeling and met a clothing designer who invented a dress that could be worn in several different configurations. He gave the dress to her and as far as I know, it's the only one of it's kind. He claimed to have a patent on it. She's not interested in keeping the studio shots or the dress, both are in my collection. I'm sure the designer has passed on some time ago and there isn't anyone to confirm the history of the dress... I'm sure when the time is right, that dress may make another appearance.

I witnessed the birth of my grand daughter and took photos. This Christmas, I put a few of them on a thumb drive and brought to the party. She's 12 years old now and we played them on a laptop to the enjoyment of guests there.

My mother once showed me a photo of her father (my grandfather) driving a 1939 Packard. That's one of the photos I'll be looking for when I start digitizing another batch. Why? Because I'm the keeper of old photos.

thumbs up

It's been a great Christmas and trying new ideas for cooking.

Merry Christmas! I hope yours has been great. Mine was excellent. Good food, good company and some great gifts.

My sister and her fiancée gave me new pots and pans, and my mother gave me World of Warcraft cook book. 216 pages of the best food from Azeroth, so I am excited to dive into that and cook some great stuff.

Speaking of cooking great stuff.. I have so many ideas with food, that I might need a full week to test all my ideas. One of them is to cook some bacon until it's 30 seconds from being burnt, and then set it to cool off. Then, I'll use my chopper to grind it into dust, and then mix it into some salt, so it'll become bacon salt. Or - maybe I'll just grind it onto fine bits, to sprinkle that on food!

I also want to make my own chilli oíl, but I am guessing it isn't that hard to make. Just take some olive oil and shove some chillis into it, and leave it to infuse for about a month or so. Maybe longer..

I also want to make my own jerky, but for that I need a dehydrator, which I don't have yet. Maybe that's my next purchase..
