GUZMAN1: Do you know what word use the arabs to define the Europeans? Rumi.
It means "Romans" and include the Turks, even the Anatolian Turks!!! The word is ancient, started to use before someone drew a divided line between Asia and Europe.

Yes, although employed earlier, the term was popularised when Mehmet I took Constantinople in 1453, thus he became the 'inheritor' of the Roman Empire and often referred to himself as such.

chris27292729: Alexander was speaking Greek the mother tongue of the Macedons was Greek,his parents were speaking Greek.Now in the 6th century Slavs moved to the region of Macedonia speaking their own language,which still do.If they want to claim Alexander theirs,they've got to re write the History again,and History usually you cannot rewrite.-

Chris, the migrating Slavs occupied most of Hellas for some time during the Byzantine period and integrated with the local population.

Did not Demosthenes consider the Makedonians as barbarians speaking a crude form of Greek? Mind you, he was probably in the pay of the Persians who feared the rise of Philip I of Makedon.

He wrote this: What I can do, O Muslims? Because I do not recognize myself. I'm not Christian, Jew, or Magician, or Muslim.

Nikogas: Alexander III the Great, the King of Macedonia and conqueror of the Persian Empire is considered one of the greatest military geniuses of all times. He was inspiration for later conquerors such as Hannibal the Carthaginian, the Romans Pompey and Caesar, and Napoleon. Alexander was born in 356 BC in Pella, the ancient capital of Macedonia. He was son of Philip II, King of Macedonia, and Olympias, the princess of neighboring Epirus. He spent his childhood watching his father transforming Macedonia into a great military power, winning victory after victory on the battlefields throughout the Balkans. When he was 13, Philip hired the Greek philosopher Aristotle to be Alexander’s personal tutor. During the next three years Aristotle gave Alexander a training in rhetoric and literature and stimulated his interest in science, medicine, and philosophy, all of which became of importance in Alexander’s later life. In 340, when Philip assembled a large Macedonian army and invaded Thrace, he left his 16 years old son with the power to rule Macedonia in his absence as regent, which shows that even at such young age Alexander was recognized as quite capable. But as the Macedonian army advanced deep into Thrace, the Thracian tribe of Maedi bordering north-eastern Macedonia rebelled and posed a danger to the country. Alexander assembled an army, led it against the rebels, and with swift action defeated the Maedi, captured their stronghold, and renamed it after himself to Alexandropolis.

Two years later in 338 BC, Philip gave his son a commanding post among the senior generals as the Macedonian army invaded Greece. At the Battle of Chaeronea the Greeks were defeated and Alexander displayed his bravery by destroying the elite Greek force, the Theban Secret Band. Some ancient historians recorded that the Macedonians won the battle thanks to his bravery.
Why the historical lesson,somebody informed you. i didn't know about it???? You missed to mention that his tactics in battles been standard,for most Military Academies world wide.-

RayfromUSA:

Neither Britain nor the UN ever "alloted" any land whatsoever to the Jews. The UN just drew up a ceasefire plan to stop hostilities. How could the UN give Palestinian land to the invaders? It didn't. It just tried to stop the fighting.

Wow Ray. How misinformed can one person be?

Here is enough of UN Res 181 to prove you wrong. I suggest you read it sometime so I don't have to prove you wrong so much;

"Independent Arab and Jewish States and the Special International Regime for the City of Jerusalem, set forth in Part III of this Plan, shall come into existence in Palestine two months after the evacuation of the armed forces of the mandatory Power has been completed but in any case not later than 1 October 1948. The boundaries of the Arab State, the Jewish State, and the City of Jerusalem shall be as described in Parts II and III below. "

If you put your You Tube Conspiracy vids on pause for a couple minutes you can play 'catch up' and have some creds n future discussion here;

RayfromUSA: And besides, since that time Israel has invaded, dominated, ethnic-cleansed, and annexed most of the land that, under the UN ceasefire agreement, belongs to the Palestinians.

You mean the land that would have been Palestinian had they accepted UN Res 181 of course.

RayfromUSA: Where is the Palestinian right to live at peace in their own land with secure borders and the rights of statehood.

When they drop their arms and accept UN Res 181 with the changes that they themselves forced.

RayfromUSA: Israel is of total bad faith.

They alone accepted UN Res 181 and were attacked thus necessitating fighting back. I suppose in your world people should just lie down and allow themselves to be murdered. Not mine and not the Israelis.

GUZMAN1: Beautiful words and many lucky to have a chance to live in peace. I also know that in this world we seem to live in people,,many people do not always get along. I pray one day I live to see a happier world.

I also read people vilifying (to put it mildly) the Palestine Nation.

Bull!!!!!!!

Nowhere has anybody stated Palestinians should not have a homeland other than as per UN Resolution 181.

Do your homework and don't lie!

GUZMAN1, pretending the following was my quote: Hasn't stopped you from trying. Fortunately some of us are educated enough to pick out the lies and correct them.

In order to be considered remotely serious, when quoting somebody, it must be the exact quote. If you insert your own words, even as a joke, it makes you underhanded and a cheater.

My quote was this;

Albertaghost: Hasn't stopped you from trying. Fortunately some of us are educated enough to pick out the lies and correct them.

If we all did as you have, we may as well not even bother to use the quote feature.
