daniela777: I find horses are even more receptive to Reiki as they are very sensitive creatures.

When I start with them I do it at some distance until they get used to the energy. Then I do it hands on.

I don't always know if and where they have a pain but they tend to show me...or communicate with me in one way or another.
Then they are so relaxed They seem to be in a trance.
Eventually after about 20mn they suddenly wake up telling me they've had enough.

But those who have a limp for example ...after about 3 x 20mn sessions directly on their leg..they can walk again.

That's interesting... You are gifted. smile

I just remembered this. In the centre of town I have an office I also sometimes pack trees to send and left some there one Saturday afternoon. On Sunday morning I went to pack and at the rear/side door it is iron but is missing a 'cover fillet' where the lock side meets the frame and I am waiting for a guy to weld it.

Getting started I got the boxes and it was deadly quiet in the street and I never put the radio on as I was moving about I took no notice but glanced through the door crack to see a pair of eyes like saucers and a tabby head moving about. A small cat was sitting outside staring at me and moving its head each time I moved to get a better look at what I was doing.

It's these things that tell me animals are smart, curious and much more intelligent than we are.

I noticed that similar topics are closed or very old, so I decided to start another one.

Do you have pets? I have a black 12-year-old cat.

Do you think that pets can be a great way to meet someone? When both people have pets, they instantly have something in common and a lot of experiences and anecdotes to share. Did you ever meet anyone thanks to your pet?

What would you do if your partner disliked your pet? Or if they were allergic to it?[/quote]

I have three dogs, two King Charles/Japanese Chin cross and my sidekick Gracie the Yorkie four pounds of sheer terror! Seriously she thinks that everyone loves her and she does love everyone, the other two are afraid of people but not animals. I've flown with Gracie to Chicago, and we've driven everywhere together, she goes with me if I travel.

I would not have a partner that disliked animals or my dogs. One guy had on his profile that he was an animal lover. I guess from a distance because he was allergic to almost every animal...why do people lie on their profiles? Anyway, that went nowhere fast when he told me he was allergic.

I made a commitment to my dogs when I brought them home, they are here forever, not just at my convenience.

Crazy..I only became allergic to pet hairs in the last few years, but have owned plenty of animals up until that time.
Not even sure how or when it happened, but its ongoing now for me.
I do love animals though, I just cant be around them for long or pet them now.wave

See if you can get a pill called 'Primalan' it is good for allergies and don't make you sleep if you get close to an animal just take one.

It's a one per day pill no prescription.

I've had my oldest dog for over 13 years.

I guess if I had a significant other who was allergic to him, I'd probably miss her.

I don't have any pets now. All my 3 dogs died last 13 months.

Pets are an amazing ice breaker. Comonolity creates opportunities.

Well of course I have a beautiful young boy dog, he's just turned 2 years old or thereabouts grin

I lost my senior boy Ben 2 and a half years ago, I was devastated and put a thread up here which was enormous comfort to me as it drew wonderful heartfelt messages from our community hug

It took me a year or so to recover and then just when I was thinking I might like another furbaby, I encountered a gorgeous young boy who was only a few months old and was being neglected in my street

Long story short, he was offered to me, I said Yes and our love story began heart wings

If I met someone who didn't like him, my dog would come first wine

Yes, true. smile

I think that people who have dogs have many opportunities to meet others, because they walk their dogs every day.

I read that cats like to be given a massage and I tried that once, but my cat looked me with dissatisfaction in her eyes, as if she wanted to say: 'What are you doing?!', so I gave up. laugh
