field of dreams

In our field of dreams
as the meadow green
by a slow
running stream

we have moments there
inside our heart
that others
have not seen

it s a house
made up happenings
and special things
etched upon our soul

patchwork quilt
of life and times
we carry alway
often they rhyme

music came too
to give melody
be it 63 or 71
great years to see

its a private place
that we create
wallpaper and paint
love was not late

now some folk dont see
what they mean
and tread them down
like soft evergreen

laughter and distain
falls like rain
as gems are thrown down
causing some pain

we all have things
our live brings
so if you enter in
please respect us there

and if you don't agree
keep it to yourself
and do not hurt
field of dreams

ok, all i can think is baseball, lol, with the title...and somehow, it still fits the piece! though 63 and 71 were both bad years for the yankees. laugh special things etched upon our soul...like nice poems that take us somewhere else. superb!

Great poetry... It's too bad some tread down... the gems they don't see. Yes, please respect... and do not hurt field of dreams.thumbs up Once again, great write... and hey, at least you know what a homerun is thumbs up laugh
(Have to say, that's one of the interesting things about an intl. site... learn a lot about other countries, cultures).
Hey, Gashly... any love for the LA Dodgers laugh (I knew Orel Hershiser personally, if you're not too young to know who that is. Also Steve Howe, who was Orel's teammate on the Dodgers minor league team. He last played for the Yankees, but Rookie of the Year back in the day for LA. Both were pitchers btw)

cat, OF COURSE i know them. i remember hershiser from his Indians days, though, and now on ESPN. and howe, a yankee of course, albeit, a very tragic one, i mean, banned for life because he had a drinking problem? thank the stars he won his appeal! and i give props to The Boss (miss ya, George!) for keeping him on the payroll as long as he did, that man was all about redemption. thanks for sharing your story, i appreciate it, and serpico, sorry to hijack your comments...the poem is still just as lovely as it was a few hours ago!
