Summer Love ...

Will summer's love transcend Or will it fade like the last red pale rose. Clinging to the bush.. Destined to die a slow and lonely death.. Can summer's love reach beyond the supple green branches full of life and hope To the crumple

Dancing The Night Away

As Morgen said, it seems like the "blues bug" has struck the corner lately. I thought I would brighten it up a bit with a happy "fun" poem. Perhaps others can do the same.

Try a little honesty

~Try a little honesty~

Well, you say that you're not sure.. if you really are in love, or if you ever were.. you think you've got it all figured out.. all those times I kind of guessed that you were looking for a way out.. and so you got it.. got just what y

air conditioner

air conditioner

Another invention I am really glad I can afford. I love my air conditioner in my apartment and car. Thankfully I still have one in my car so I can keep the windows always rolled up to keep the bugs out and my ability to sing without disturbing anyone. This morning I sang to Madonna's La Isla Bonita, Susan Vega's Tom's Diner, and Whitney Houston's Greatest Love of All.

Music Box Ballerina

Music Box Ballerina

I'm sure a porcelin ballerina would like to be human for at least a while and people sometimes need a safe and carefree fantasy world to ease their stress.

This Simple Life

Reminiscing about following Dad around and learning to ride.Mom, bless her heart, tried to put me in frilly dresses, but I was having none of it. My entire life has involved cowboys in one way or another, it's simply a life I can't deny.

PEOPLE NEED PEOPLE

PEOPLE NEED PEOPLE

"There is the silence of a great hatred, And the silence of a great love, And the silence of an embittered friendship. ... There is the silence of those unjustly punished ..." (Edgar Lee Masters, "Silence") Some life experience that leaves indelible mark, hard to wipe off, if ever. You know what I mean...

Kickits Challenge That Ole Dodge Dart

Kickit's Challenge.. That Ole Dodge Dart...

A thousand steps walking a crooked fence Memories sauntered slowly, and then they sped, As thoughts of you, Circled round and round in my head.. The essence of you.. So near yet so far.. And always with you, It was about that old car..

City Reflections (For Megan)

When we were young and reckless Our hearts tripped Across broken midnight And stolen gold. Walking in the city Late one night I saw traffic light reflections On wet cobblestones. The neon and hot amber Of the summer's night Rain-slicked

Candy Cigarettes

Candy Cigarettes

Just thinking back to my childhood and some things that have gone away. I wonder sometimes if this smoking ban is worth it. Wouldn't people be happier if they didn't have to worry about everything they did could lead to cancer and death. I see the price they charge for cigarettes and I think it is legalized theft to charge 7 dollars for a box of cigarettes. I think there are 20 in a box, so that is 35 cents a cig. Bad or not, it is wrong to charge that much.
