I was honored to have had this poem nominated for the Pushcart Prize in 2004. Being nominated was a great honor.

The search for social companionship sometimes causes someone to spend additional time on the site. You go through many candidates in your search. Someone responds in a positive way. Your happiness is short lived as you discover your reasons for connection do not match those of the other party. With heavy heart you break off the connection before the intensity increases possibly leading to a tragic outcome.
