~ Snow Crystals ~

~ Snow Crystals ~

Snowflakes Heavenly sent

Whispering their way thru the air

Flaking their whiteness upon the ground

With their lacey white beauty being spread around

Specking the land with it’s whiteness bright

Turning the ground into a snowy delight

Crystal dew droppings from the sky

Whitening the ground for you and I

Snowflakes magically floating in air

Makes us wonder if Heaven’s Angles are also there

Quietness, ecstasy and beauty too

Sending Santa’s message to you

Peace upon earth and mercy mild

To all it’s good people, he has a message for you

God Bless you ~ one and all ~

Merry Christmas

About this poem:
I wish I had a snowflake net
to take a snowflake crystal home
with me, to gaze upon it's beauty
and hold forever in my hand without
it's melting ~

Snow

We had our first real Christmas snow today and yesterday
I should have gone out and made something out of it
I made a snowman back in November
I made a Rudolph pumpkin carving on December 1
I etched it so when you put a light inside it glows orange-red
Around Rudolph
It should stop snowing around one in the afternoon
In a snowstorm dumping five inches on 2,000 square miles
Which is about the size of Grant and Iowa County, Wisconsin
There are 5 quintillion snowflakes
That's a 5 followed by 18 zeros.
A cubic foot of snow contain about one billion crystals
If you watch The Grinch Who Stole Christmas(Jim Carrey)
It takes place on a very small part of a snow crystal
Other movies with snow and ice
Frozen, where Elsa can create ice and Olaf from her majic
Frosty the Snowman who comes to life with a hat and then a kiss from Crystal
Groundhog Day where Phil knows it's tomorrow by the snow on the ground
The Shining where Jack is frozen in the cold hedge maze
And The Thing where an alien preys on people in the snowy Antarctica

hooray for santa

Jesus lay upon a manger
At the age of zero taking gifts from a stranger
The holy miracle of a virgin birth
Forgive me for a chuckle of mirth
Kids all wait for a gift from Santa
Sponsored by Coca Cola and a glass of Fanta
Frost laden trees and a field of snow
Its the driving rain that makes my cheeks glow
I thank you heaven for the gifts of this birth –
A big roast dinner and a week off work.

PS
don't take this too seriously, it's just a laugh.

Twas The Night Before Christmas (Jail Version)

Twas the night before Christmas
And all through the jail
Lots of creatures were stirring
Even a vengeful inmate with a nail
The toilet paper was hung by the communal toilet without care
In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there
The prisoners were nustled unsafe in their beds
While visions of freedom danced in their heads
And I in my orange prison uniform and the guard in her cap
Wished we could settle down for a long winter's nap
When up from the roof there arose such a clatter
The prison guard sprang from her chair to see what was the matter
I knew that someone was up on that roof so lively and quick
I knew in a moment it must be St. Nick
And then in the twinkling I heard on the roof
The prancing and pawing of each tiny hoof
Then when I felt all would be well
In St. Nicholson came into our cell
He spoke a few words and went straight to his work
Then he exclaimed like a jerk
Deadbeat dads who make kids cry
Bad check writers who steal and lie
Drunk drivers who maim and make people fret
You all deserve the baloney sandwich you're going to get
But I come here to give you more than words
I also give you my Christmas turds
Then he laid a finger aside of his nose
And majically a chimney arose
Up he went and I heard him exclaim as he faded from sight
Merry Christmas to everyone else and I wish them all well
But as for you
You can all go to hell!

About this poem:
We have the largest prison population in the world. Most of the people in prison don't deserve to be there, but a few do. It seems that we reward bad behavior and punish good behavior in this country. I just think it would be nice to have the truly bad ones get a good scolding from Ol St. Nick.

Ghost

I thought I saw a ghost last night
Flicker out like candle light
Then softly glow behind a tree
And reaching out, it beckoned me.

I felt a tugging at my heart
And soon my world came apart
Like spider webs on rainy days
And tattered clouds o'er windy bays.

And as I watched the eerie glow
I thought of things I used to know
Like friends once close that now have gone
Or words to ancient, nameless songs.

But when I tried to walk that way
The light grew dim and could not stay
Attached to common earthly things,
And flew away on angel wings.

Now all I have are empty fears
Of moonlit nights and passing years
And all that you could give to me
Will never serve to set me free

About this poem:
Written on Halloween night, of course. I just took an idea I had and ran with it. I have since converted it to a song.
I just realized I left a verse off. Fixed now.

~At 40 Below~

Dam it's sure a cold place to be, socks slippers fully dressed an a throw, fireplace cracklin an jack frosted window panes. The snow's in squeak mode, with your foot or a tire an even foot of a mouse. It's even a place on the thermometer two converge. Farenheit an celsius chill for a while, at 40 below they share that same place. Warmer or colder to each other can't keep pace. Pull up the blankets another log on the fire. Nights colder than ice, tuck in the toes an let 40 below be as it may~

~ A Christmas Ring ~

~ A Christmas Ring ~

Wish upon your Christmas Tree

Maybe it will come true

A ring around your Finger

Would it be just right for you?

A Christmas Tree wish for Connecting Singles

Wishing that wish comes true!

Does he know your size and what to say or do

A Christmas ring will bring you happiness

When you hear him say!

Will you be his girl forever, on this Christmas day

Give him love and affection

From your loving heart

~ You will live and love together and never, never part ~

Merry Christmas
Rings on her fingers
Bells on her toes

Will he give her a ring this Christmas
Only heaven knows!

Planes Trains and Automobiles Retold

In this movie Neal Page meets Del Griffith on his way back to Chicago
Del is a big help getting him his own room at a fancy hotel with good towels
He gets a nice free meal from Del the following morning
Then they get a ride in a nice warm truck to a nice train
The train has a mishap, but are shuttled to an even nicer bus
After Neal sings a song everybody loves, they get a nice car from a nice lady
They drive the car without any problems and share another motel room
There they share stories of their wives who are both alive and well
Neal invites Del back to his house where they have a Thanksgiving meal
Later Del's wife shows up and loves the Neal Page's family
Del Griffith's family soon move next door and look forward to many more
Thanksgivings with his new best friend
The End

Rare Earths

Deep below ground crystals are forming
their matrix and brilliance unknown
No names yet assigned to any single one

Above ground are their counterparts
Michelangelo most mindful in omitting
the spark between the two fingertips
