I asked the moon

I asked the moon
And the sun knows it not
I showed her my burns
And the moon mocked me
And as the sky did not look right
And I wasn't getting better
I thought how unfortunate
And the moon mocked me

I asked the moon
If she still wanted me
She said
"I'm not used to care for cases like that"
And you and I
We were once so sure
And we did say a few times
It was just an adventure
And it would not last

I don't have anything to tell you
And not much to make you laugh
For I always expect the worst
And the best makes me suffer

I asked the moon
If she still wanted me
She said
"I'm not used to care for cases like that"
And you and I
We were once so sure
And we said a few times
It was just an adventure
And that it would not last

Avenged

She sat waiting content in her place
Eyes moving like a pendulum
Knowing soon he would enter her lair
He should of heed her words not warning
Now it would be she he face
Town folks parting to give him way
Smug he was thinking they cower to him
A man of great importance to himself
Crossing the bridge into the boggy marsh
Pudgy hands itching to make beauty lay
Smelling his aroma as he entered her lair
Lips turned up at thoughts of avenging
Tall and statuesque age only defining beauty
Tonight she would be the one sated
Avenging the one for whom she care
In a flash it was over and blood lay spilled
Eyes large no life still looking in fear
Removing her prize from greedy paws
Arm circled protecting little woman child
The beast now lay killed
Town folks going about their day
As if the night had never been
Woman sweeping porch floor clean
Aged with soften beauty
Calls little girl child from play
Night time had turned to day
And monsters are gone away

the dream

it was simple and beautiful
not one of monetary riches
but one of love, hope and joy
to share the love
to grow and hold the love
both in her body and in her arms

Doctors told her it would not, could not happen
medications needed to keep her alive had stopped that chance.
acceptance came, slowly,
but the yearning never stopped.
the dream was just that, always to be a dream

life was lived, to the full, not held back
beside her man she worked the day of a man, and then some
her body became healthy and stronger
but the doctors reminded her it would not, could not happen

pigheaded, determined, work to be done, timber to be cut
nausea, nah medication
bloating, nah medication,
always a something else it could be
it would not, could not happen, the doctors said so

keep sawmilling girl, you can get through this
keep lifting those chunks of timber
back pain, stomach pains, what in the hell is going on?
it would not, could not be... could it?

crouched beside the big pile of bluestone
on a cold June day
it would and could happen
a dream so badly desired
dreams of a lifetime
were gained and shattered

Grace came into the world, and left at the same time
tears flowed, guilt descended
maybe if she had listened to her body
believed in her dream
it might have been

Grace, forever in her heart

About this poem:
A dream gained and lost, all at once. The grief remains

I wasn't going to post this, but realised I had written this to share, not to keep

I Hear

I hear the song of morning birds
And wings I wish to spread
To fly up high where troubles naught
Are apt to pass you by

I hear the song of a church choir
Singing praises to the Lord
My soul it lifts and soars aloft
Like an eagle on the wing

I hear the wind through trees it rush
To places far away
My memories lift and swirl about
The lifetime of my past

I hear a heavy laboured breath
And heart that beats so slow
My time is here, I go with joy
And Heaven waits for me

The man she really wants

The man she really wants won't
be found in some scribbled poem
He won't dial her number as she
sobs by a late night phone
For she knows that he is born of
magic which the wind cannot contain
Only He understands her smiles and
the sorrow of her rain
She awaits for him to decend with
sword and shield in hand
She reasons her children will florish
in a sweet and conquered land
But she awakens to the kiss of her
prince, yet it's to sad for words to tell
For she lived her life as a devil
And now she abides in Hell..

Friendship Lost

harsh words piercing my soul
two decades of trust lost
disappointing loyalty
hurts my heart
~ ~ ~
tears of grief in my eyes
trying to forget secrets
thoughts of betrayal
enter my mind
~ ~ ~
racing heartbeat in my chest
listening to the voice within
forever gone friendship
marks my soul

Do Not Weep

Do not weep when I have gone
Whistle that tune or sing that song
Hum that melody that we used to play
Look to the clouds on a clear summer’s day

And think of me as you always have done
Remember that I shall forever be my mother’s son
As you pass the old oak that bears our mark
Whistle that tune we first heard from the lark

Gently let the grass hold you within its sway
As the breeze hums that melody we used to play
Where the crickets chime up in a glorious chorus
And you absorb the beauty of the flowering floras

Drift down to the stream where we sat and dreamt
And paddled like children thinking how this was meant
Remember how instantly we both broke out in song
And days were so lazy and nights were not as long

Think of me often as the tears glisten your face
Whistle that tune as you sit at our secret place
And as the tears overcome you in an emotional tide
Look up to the sky and see the swallow glide

And dry those tears you must not weep for me
Remember fondly those days in the old oak tree
And live your life as you know I want you too
Forever I will always be thinking of you

What I've Done

In his last desperation,
Before he takes his life,
How broad his life was,
How narrow became his mind,-
"Tomorrow can bring a new day!",
"If tomorrow ever comes,"
"Everyday is the same thing,"
What has he done?-

In his self-isolation,
Refusing to feel any pain,
"Time for you to grow up,"
That is what she once said,-
He picked up his guitar,
Carefully placed it in the case,
At the young age of 41,
"Too old for childish games,"-

Yesterday and depression,
Between both, there he stands,
A price for him to go by,
The cost of being a man,-
"Killing myself to provide,"
"I know this can't go on,"
Was the last words he spoke to me,
What has he done?
What have I done?
What I've done--

About this poem:
I wrote this one 4-19-2011 just by basically finger picking at some chords on the guitar, then I started writing and rearranging the sound.

~A spoke on the wheel~

Did salt cure pork
Did smoke cure the fish
Entertaining tonight
Too the friends that you love?

My cat's been an integral part of my life
For two months or more it's been on his face
Do you believe in what a pet has to say
I think you do, you've seen them like this.

Monsanto approved, I say wtf
Approved by elected, now was there a vote!
Heavy's the metal, carcinogen of way
Sit in the sidelines, passers of day!

Host are the people with, silence of tongue
Don't use it you loose it
That's a natural fact.

Yet you all keep on letting
This movement arrive
Will your blood spill over
Or will it survive!

About this poem:
When the hell will you all wake up and see what's right in front of you.....................or are you going to continue to trust the ingredients!I'm telling you, read and research the ingredient's of what you are eating, oh ya it's been approved at 100 parts per million, come on, and you are ok with that! That shit does not have to be in the package! Or tell me that it doe's?

~A Bad Dream~

Haunting, daunting.. perhaps merely a dream..
A myriad of not so quite silent screams..
The essense of evil.. as blasphemy coated it's ugly self
like putrid cursed words on a profanely painted shelf..
Sarcasm slithered like vile snakes on the ground..
Forked tongue, pointed directly at all who abound..
The escape route is closely guarded
No chance you will win..
Abandon all hope,
All ye that enter in.
