Knock, knock......

What awaits us,
on the other side of life's door.

Shall we see that bright light,
and follow it, yearning to see more.

So many have left us here,
taken, in their passing, of this everyday life.

Never to reappear,
Their hearts no longer feeling any joys, or strife.

They've been taken,
As we feel them missing, our hearts left bleeding.

We can only Pray,
their beside Jesus, in Heaven no-longer ever needing.

Blessed are they,
for they now have found their place of eternal happiness.

Now we wait,
remaining here, to be called. Living, feeling their emptiness.

One day we shall all,
awake to see the other side of life's door.

I hope everyone,
awakes to see this vision, with all of this, and so much more!

Solitary Owl

Eye of time changed the forest, the perch
my owl sister, so eternal your search
so mournful your yearn
return

A yellow eye awaken
memory of the moments forsaken?
in your echo a solitary tear
disappear

Lonely calls hauntingly
for the Soul you couldn’t grasp, slipped away, untimely.

Screech my soul her eye closed from the daylight,
dare it scorch the Shadow she holds so dear.

Coming Back Down

its been 3 years now, and your passing still weighs on me, not only did you mean alot to me, your were the only of for me, im down on my knees praying for one last chance, to see your face again, to kiss your lips again, people say its easy to let someone go, not when you didnt have the choice to let them go, that day haunts me in my dreams, its just like a nightmare, my friends tell me to get over it but i dont care, you were my girl, the one for me, i miss you dearly, but i know one day you will be coming back down to me.

a life that once was

Here I am just an egg, unknowing of what may become. Here I am an egg all sunglley warm, as I start to grow. Here I sit for 21 days to await my mothers eye. Here I am I quietly peep and listen for my mother to speak. Here I am breaking through this shell to feel my mothers sweet bill. Here I am one week old and so cold. Here I am or am I ?

Dont talk about tomorrow

Don’t talk about tomorrow
Just talk about today
So I say why
Ill worry about it anyways

Don’t talk about tomorrow
Just talk about today
But what if or how
Is it to much to ask
don’t worry about my life
is that what you trying to say?

Don’t talk about tomorrow
Just talk about today
Should I hide my money
Or stock up on my food
Oh God , I am trying to trust you
is that what you want me to do

Don’t talk about tomorrow
Just talk about today
Well maybe I need more clothing
Or maybe lots of new shoes
What is that you said God
All my stuff is not for me
But it all for you

Don’t talk about tomorrow
Just talk about today
Well love come my way
I want a mate now lord
Oh God you say , be patient
And get down on my knees and pray

Don’t talk about tomorrow
Just talk about today
Why is my Aunt now dieing
she only 73 ,,I trying to say
And again God says

Don’t talk about tomorrow
Just talk about today

Sing Sweetly Darlin'

Sing 'Santa Maria', for the time has come

Sing 'Santa Maria', all the work is done

Lay down by the river, until the day has flown

Lay down by the river, until the light has gone

Sing sweet my darlin', all your cares have gone

Sing sweetly darlin', before you leave me alone

I'll lay you by the river, and listen with all my heart

I'll lay you by the river, until it's time to part

~//~

I'll take you to the river, to watch the failing sun

I'll lay you by the river, until the time has come.

About this poem:
This is actually a song I wrote a few years ago. I returned home from the hospital where my father had been rushed with a serious head injury. We were informed that his chances of survival were slim.

I returned home and put on the radio and I heard a story about a farmer who died trapped under a tractor after an accident on a river bank. The farmer's wife was with him and couldn't get any mobile reception to call the flying doctor, nor could she drive back for they arrived together on the tractor. She lay beside him until he died in her arms.

I picked up my guitar and wrote this song in the style of a Celtic lament.

Forever Rose

Forever Rose

At the prom he gave one red Rose,
For as the love in his eyes shows,
He desired everyone should know,
This is the Lass he will not let go.

He never wanted to leave her side,
They had a love neither could hide,
She was the rose of his heart,
They vowed they would never part.

She was his own sweet sixteen,
The prettiest thing he'd ever seen,
His best friend and sole sweetheart,
Surely Heaven's finest work of art.

Then tragedy took them far away,
Back home forever both to stay,
As late September's roses died,
They were laid together side by side.

Heaven welcomed with open arms,
These newlyweds,safe from harm,
This young man that she chose
And she his only Forever Rose.

About this poem:
Intending to modify the Rose,I elected to write a whole new poem to compliment "A Postcard From Heaven" which I posted in Grieving Mothers. However this poem is posted in a memorial site for the two teens who were killed nearly two years ago(?).The mother friended me on FB because of poems I posted there. She was having trouble coping and my poem helped her see her daughter's death in a different way, which is the best reward I could get.

A Soldier's Cross

A Soldier's Cross

The soldier had honourably met his fate
And as he stood before the gate,
He thought he would forever wait
But his name was found atop the slate.

He asked if he would be sent below
For having to kill his country's foe,
But then was told an emphatic No,
Straight to the Lord with honour go.

You have given your precious life,
To help free others from hellish strife
Leaving behind both child and wife,
For this you will be given eternal life.

Long ago a battle was valiantly fought,
And in so doing an example was taught,
To His people who have never forgot,
With His life our forgiveness was bought.

In Heaven soldiers will be everywhere,
For they gave that others might fair
With peace and love for all to share,
But a soldier's cross is heaviest to bear.

Silence

I stop on this road, and take a good look around
And freedom cannot be found
I listen for the sounds of dying in the trees,
For even majesty must fall to its knees
Problems abound in this big and little town
I wonder why I stay around
Heartbreak times thrice
By the worst of the mice
And sometimes it would be nice
If my heart really was ice.
The silence is a double edged sword
And most times it cannot be ignored
Starts as a ringing then turns to a roar
Till my heart is in shreds and I can’t take anymore
Can’t escape this emptiness,
The nothingness-
This loneliness I can’t suppress,
It has gotten the best…
