The Song

The song

Down in the depths I sank in grief
In the darkness there I sat
By the side of a lake
It is the lake of tears we shed
A pale moon cast deep shadows
The sedge has withered and no birds sing
And is there still balm in Gilead?
All sweetness has gone
No bitterness
Just nothing.
The sedge has withered by the lake
And no birds sing
Yet my soul sings praises
Let me hear the echo of its song.

Bitter

Bitter. That surely I am and rightly so,
What you have done to me has scarred even my soul.
You promised me only to have and to hold,
That you would stay here until we were both old.

Now see me here and time has crept,
But as long as I live I will not forget.
Only now there is sorrow and much regret,
you have gone too soon, could you not cheat Death?

And why go alone? I would have gladly come with,
If only to avoid this loneliness.
I am mad, I can't stand another moment of this,
mad that such misfortune has come betwixt.

But I know what I must do to return what was lost,
there must be sacrifice for to gain there is cost.
You and me will never be if this plan is not wrought,
necessity demands that with my blood it be bought.

So Death tarry no longer, please hurry, make haste,
reunite me to my lover, alas he awaits,
On tonight I give my life the whole world to gain,
yes for bitterness to go I must hold him again!

Daytonadute RIP

This was not a posted poem, but copied and pasted,

I felt the poetry section be Informed that Daytonadude Passed away on March 2 2014

Sadly this is a Poem that was Pasted from another thread

A Very Nice Tribute to Daytonadude,
I do Feel he would not want us to carry the sorrows of his Passing, He left a Good Impression to so many of us,So

Remember the Moments
Be Happy he is no longer in pain
Save his Inspirations somewhere
Somewhere tucked away

Just Remember how Short life can be
As he said "live for Today"
I am now in Peace
SMILE, but one last thing to say

Enjoy the rest of "Your" Days
As I Fly Away
I won't be to far
Just Saved by Grace

Tranquility

Embedded image from another site

When the world is ready to fall
and the burden too great to hold
I go to the place where my soul is set free
and many tales are left untold...

The rumbling of the waves brings peace
the salty air relieves my pain
my eyes open to islands far and away
I break the links of gravity chain...

I know a place that offers serenity
the sun sets slow and seconds only pass
where love shows us such immortality
and life passes like grains through an hourglass...

My life flows by and I still seek to gain
all my unfulfilled dreams will come to pass
life is all but done you see
I choose to flip the hourglass...

Peace is found down by the sea
we can turn down the volume knob of life
take my hand love and walk with me
along these shores of sweet tranquility...

A Prison Evening

Each star a rung,
night comes down the spiral
staircase of the evening.
The breeze passes by so very close
as if someone just happened to speak of love.
In the courtyard,
the trees are absorbed refugees
embroidering maps of return on the sky.
On the roof,
the moon - lovingly, generously -
is turning the stars
into a dust of sheen.
From every corner, dark-green shadows,
in ripples, come towards me.
At any moment they may break over me,
like the waves of pain each time I remember
this separation from my lover.
This thought keeps consoling me:
though tyrants may command that lamps be smashed
in rooms where lovers are destined to meet,
they cannot snuff out the moon, so today,
nor tomorrow, no tyranny will succeed,
no poison of torture make me bitter,
if just one evening in prison
can be so strangely sweet,
if just one moment anywhere on this earth.

TOODLES

life goes on

Life goes on

As life ends
As we mourn a passing
As the hum of everyday life plays in the background
Life goes on
Anniversaries and birthdays hold memories
As Visits to the grave become less frequent less needed
Life goes on
We welcome babies with loved ones eyes
We hear in their cries there named after
As life goes on
As traditions are kept and new ones made
Life goes on
As Photographs become old… gathering dust at backs of shelves …hidden but for an ever watchful eye
Life goes on
As life ends and life starts
As Life ...goes on

never die

Do I want to live for ever
Never to grow old
To stay young and slim
Never to be old

Days will be endless
What would I do
Get married as you grow old
And out live you

A constant companion I would want
To fill my long lonly days
Of sollitude
The constant grind of living
Just to carry on

Never getting grey and wrinkled
Never being old
Never getting I'll
Imortal I have becom e

The fear of death never to happen
My constant living
To endour
This would be my curse to out live you all

Last Night

At night my lost memory of you returned
and I was like the empty field where springtime,
without being noticed, is bringing flowers;
I was like the desert over which
the breeze moves gently, with great care;
I was like the dying patient
who, for no reason, smiles.

Kept

As long as the water tides itself to come and go
All real
Your sunsets set
And moon slowly slid to tomorrow

Your foot prints
neither came or went
Just
tired and
went away

Your voice 3years ago
happy
flicking yourself to life of change
as I

I see the path as you
told
our friend slowly passed away
You told me

Then time came and you were aware

It was now your time

Things kept
Are many things so kept that
I am forgotten
No

You
Just you

Fly away with many whom have flown

The Day Death Comes

How will it be, the day death comes?
Perhaps like the gift at the beginning of night,
the first kiss on the lips given unasked,
the kiss that opens the way to brilliant worlds
while, in the distance, an April of nameless flowers
agitates the moon's heart.
Perhaps in this way: when the morning,
green with unopened buds, begins to shimmer
in the bedroom of the beloved,
and the tinkle of stars as they rush to depart
can be heard on the silent windows.
What will it be like, the day death comes?
Perhaps like a vein screaming
with the premonition of pain
under the edge of a knife, while a shadow,
the assassin holding the knife,
spreads out with a wingspan
from one end of the world to the other.
No matter when death comes, or how,
even though in the guise of the disdainful beloved
who is always cold,
there will be the same words of farewell to the heart:
"thank God it is finished, the night of the broken-hearted.
Praise be to the meeting of lips,
the honeyed lips I have known."
