THE QUESTION

Is it all worth it?
The question asked
through the ages.
Even sages had no
answer for me.
"You have the answer
within you head,"
they said.
I delved deep into
my mind my life,
finding only strife
thus far. Had I kept
my eyes and senses
shut to life itself?
I thought not.
It is as it is.
My answer
simply
being
No and Yes.

Gone From Here

For those of you that are not here
At this very special time of year
You’re in our thoughts we hope you know
And in our hearts with this we show
All our love we send to you
And know you feel the same way too
Forever in our memories will be
Those that have gone from our family

Missing you

She wakes with tears in her eyes
She cries for the guy she use to have
He's no longer alive
Yet the fire still burns in her heart

Memories

I woke this morning and thought of you
I feel so sad I can’t see you
I know that I’ve been miles away
But in my heart ill know you'll stay
Wanted so much to say goodbye
It's hard to get over but I will try
Your memory will always be
Etched in my mind for eternity

For Daddy

To Daddy

Daddy – sorry not to see you before I passed away
Mummy was so hoping that you’d come up and stay.
We waited nearly for a year – but you did not arrive
I did so want a visit while I was still alive.

Oskar feels the difference – now I am not around.
We loved each other’s company; when Mum worked we found
A partnership together – and now he’s all alone.
He offers her some comfort, their sadness to condone.

Before I died she cut some hair – a keepsake to review.
She had it made into a pendant, “A gift from you”
She called it – and now its come it is a part
Of me forever. She wears it near her heart.

We were a family, once, she said, the four of us, so close.
I’ll never know what happened – why you became morose…
I loved you still, no matter what – I know you loved me too
Now here’s my hair that Mummy cut. She gives the rest to you.

About this poem:
My little dog Chloe, sadly died March 1st this year. I had a snip of her hair made into a pendant which I could wear round my neck. We had hope my former partner would be able to visit her before she died. Sadly this was not the case. It's just me and the cat, Oskar, now.

If I could

I'll pause the world so I can find you
Wishing becomes recipe for my heart aches
Day dreaming of the times that where simple
So young and promising. .I only have now well
Pretty much nothing..I drink to hide my guilt
for you was once a precious flower..The smell
Of promise. ..I said I'll never leave you
Since when did the words become weak like the
economy

Remnants of Love

Nearly ten years since you were called away,
yet still I recall as yesterday your touch,
Your smile, your sense of fun and joy with life.
I remember you playing your guitar, singing along.

You cooking a gourmet meal with great a-plume.
Sharing a bottle of wine over cards or backgammon.
You filled my life with the sunshine of love as
together we shared glances at a humorous joke.

We shared daily strife's with practiced ease
facing each and all together standing strong.
Still I feel your touch in night's shadows
as you softly flit by reminding me of us.

Lonely now is life as I travel onwards,
none can take your place within my heart.
Some good men have tried, yet they can never
be you or be able to share life with your ghost.

Yet as I pause, remembering all you taught me
and experiences we had together I am happy.
Sometimes in life less is indeed far more
now I treasure the memories we made together

died in my ride

it was a late night, cigar smoke was floating in the air
looking like small red traffic lights once we inhaled
plastic cups of crown royal standing tall next to my main man
having good convo talking about peace in ones land
our watches shined bright like stars when the moon light was trapped
soon a speeding car with bright lights to blind us open fire
running to my car for cover I fired three shots back
the car raced away...Kris I yelled thinking he was behind cover but I saw him rolling on the ground trying to catch his breath running to him I helped him into my ride, in my seat he begin to slide...
no,no,no, stay up son I need you ...slapping his face to keep him up
I saw he was sweating and spitting blood from his mouth, Kris please
stay up bro..I said while speeding through red lights.. he answered
its ok jay its cool I feel numb he struggled talking, then just stared
a blank stare, right then I knew he wasn't there

love you always my brother part of me died too

~"The" tilt of the scale~

There's one thing that brings
Wee
The people to there.

Opinionate thought
Of the critic
In you?

A bill that's been passed
Was it during your watch?

Rights that were bound
Constitutionally?

Thugs in the life
That we want to call ours?

~

I shut off my world for a moment of time
To the one I'd imagined all of my life.

~

The one thing that brought
Wee the people
.....
To our now.

How fitting's that finger
While flagged, is in point
Societies tattoo
Uncle Sam "He" want's you!

Where ever your parallel
An longitude's at!

Channels pre-selected, securely for you
Smudge from the papers
Arbitrational script......

House of congress
A stacking of cards!

Debits and credits
Measured to check!

~

I shut off my world for that moment of time
..........

~

It's a crying shame
We allowed
Limited choice
There's no one to blame but today and it's roots!

Giving you a choice
To make you believe
You've a say in the way
Of the plans you don't make!

That consist of the one's
Written On the card's, by the listings above!

We never have pushed
For that elusive new box
Marked, none of the ones
Penciled!!!!!above.

Check mark or x
Putting eyes on the land
Tilting the scale
Unfavorably!
