DEATH BEHOLD

Like a dinner gone cold...like a fading shade of gold...like a forgotten Lover's hold...like a ending never told...is this your way of saying ... Death never grows old ...or is tired of taking souls ...be it mine, yours or others...Death has no place on earth to call it his home ...He does not even have friends ... The heart and soul of the grim reaper is utterly cold...without compassion, hunger or care...He is hated and feared by many...Nobody knows his thoughts and action...you cant pity or sympathize with an unknown...Death the collector of souls is God's trusted fellow... He is a heartless soul...neither on the side of good or evil ... Death does not listen to any man or woman... He also took the life of our saviour Jesus!!!

Death.

Death, who are you ?.
Why do you have to call.
Why take the ones we love so much ?,
Why do they have to fall.

Death, Who are you ?,
Come and show your face.
Do you think that you are being kind,
That you are showing us some grace.

Death, are you invisible ?,
Do you wear a cape.
Well, drop your hood, come on you thug,
And show us all your face.

Death, IF I could see you,
I'd hunt you to the kill.
Then you could not take, the ones we love,
And brake our hearts at will.

Death, go away and stay at bay,
Leave us for a while.
We want more time with our loved ones,
More time to capture thier smiles.....

Eternity

So there I stand on the edge
Eternity before me
Soon this step I will take
And finally meet my maker

MISUNDERSTOOD

I wish there was no heaven. And I wish ther was no hell.So I could just end my life and siese to exist.I'm tired of the world and the people on it.For no one cares, but for them selves.I love animals more. But mostly cats, because you have to work for their love.People don't care one way or the other. You say just one thing wrong and they'll turn backs on you.Do something wrong, and your out for good.I know cats, you have to work for their love. And people are,in away like that too.But we're all only human, people seem to forget. For we are all misunderstood,by each other.

which path will i take

Into these poems I put my thoughts
My feelings
The why life has led me on
Should I go this way or the other path way

Which is best the left or the right path way
My future I do not know what is instore only the future will no
I know my past this hidden from preying eies for am the only one that know
Do I learn from my past mistakes
Or do carry on as I go on this lonley lonesome path I do not know

Change I must accept and open my arms and caress for this is the way I have to go
Forward not backwards this the direction I must go

Paw Prints On My Heart

When I needed you the most, you were there
With a love unending, ready to share.
Happy and playful, a gift from above.
A little soul, so filled with love.
We shared so much, you and I
You watched me laugh, you felt me cry,
We played together, we cuddled alone
And we shared this place that we call home.
I loved you dearly, now that's a fact,
And I know in my heart that you loved me back.
But now you are gone, and I miss you so
The house is empty and don't you know
As I wander around...I think from the start
You left your paw prints on my heart.

About this poem:
This was for Gino,a ferret, I first met at a ferret rescue event. He was a dark eyed white. He had been so badly treated by children ( flung around by the tail, etc) and I guess he finally bit so they cut his canine (eye) teeth off. OUCH! Poor little boy. He was totally deaf and blind in one eye. You would think he would hate people. But no, he was the sweetest, most loving little thing you ever saw. The last three years of his life he never saw a cage. He shared the cat's litter box, and sometimes bed lol. Gino used to get in my purse and go out with me, and oh he loved the grass. he would roll and roll. I just know that over the Rainbow Bridge somewhere Gino is playing in some big green field.

The Old Man

I was sitting by the window, on a cold, September day
When an old man I'd seen before glanced up my way
His eyes were sad and lonely, he had a look that was rare,
And he motioned to me to come and join him downstairs.
I pondered only a moment, then turned to lock the door,
Doing something I knew I shouldn't, but which I'd be thankful for.
As I opened the door a tear of joy came to the old man's eyes,
He reached out to take my hand and called me a blessing in disguise.
He said, " I know you don't know me, but I've seen you sitting there before,
You know, even an old man needs a friend sometimes." and for awhile, said no more.
I looked over to see the old man crying, as we sat in a city so grand,
Slowly he turned to look at me and wiped his tears on his hand.
He said, "My name is Jim, I've no friends, nor family.
They've all gone from the world, and left only me.
Once, awhile back, I had a wife, a son and a daughter, too
She was sweet and gentle, reminds me a lot of you."
He said, "I've been hangin' in too long, suppose it's past time for me to die."
He squeezed my hand ever so gently and again started to cry.
"I wish you'd take some advice," he said, "From a man who is old and wise."
And the words he said I'll always remember, told to me through cloudy eyes.
"Never stay where you're not wanted, or where you know it's wrong
Find a home and family, to them you'll always belong."
With this he rose to take his leave and I said goodbye to Jim,
I was glad of the few moments spent together and knew I'd never forget him.
A few days later in the paper I saw an old man had died,
Cold and alone, on a park bench, and I hung my head and cried.
They were looking for someone to identify him, I guess some kind of kin,
All they had to go on was an I.D. bracelet that read "Jim".
Time and time again, his words have returned to my mind,
As I think of the old man with no place to go and no one for him to find.
"Never stay where you're not wanted, or where you know it's wrong
Find a home and family, to them you'll always belong."

About this poem:
Shortly after I first left home, (many, many moons ago lol), I was livig in Montreal in a little apartment, in an old house, on the 2nd floor, with the kitchen table set in bay windows overlooking a park. I spent a lot of time sitting at that table and this poem is a true story. It was almost 6 months later that I wrote it, and I actually had it published in one of the Eastern Townships Newspapers.

"Damaged Mind...Broken Soul"

about the shooter who killed
children in their innocence
no truer words could be told.

Was there evil in the play
that unfolded worlds today?
Would such evil by self succumb
to the perpetrators’ gun?

Plans were surely made
bullet-proof vest donned
munitions thoughtfully gathered
before breaking of day’s dawn.

What happened we know
yet, reasons why may never show.
Though many suffer, down that path
rarely do most let selves go.

In shock over such tragic deeds
school, community taken to knees
as gun sounds penetrate air
heard by world citizens who care.

Bullets reigned down on very young
rifle yielded by another of our own
so many lives shot on front line
of life’s newest battlefield zone.

In Memory of Sandy Hook School

When Tomorrow Starts Without Me

When tomorrow starts without me, and I am not there to see
If the sun should rise and find your eyes all filled with tears for me;
I wish so much you wouldn't cry the way you did today,
While thinking of the many things we didn't get to say.
I know how much you love me, as much as I love you,
And each time that you think of me, I know starts you'll miss me too.
But when tomorrow starts without me, please try to understand
That an angel came and called my name and took me by the hand,
And said my place was ready, in Heaven far above,
And that I'd have to leave behind all those that I dearly love.
But as I turned to walk away, a tear fell from my eye,
For all my life I'd always thought I didn't want to die.
I had so much to live for, so much yet to do,
It seemed almost impossible that I was leaving you.
I thought of all the yesterdays, the good ones and the bad.
I thought of all the love we shared and all the fun we had.
If I could relive yesterday, just even for awhile,
I'd say goodbye and kiss you and maybe see you smile.
But then I fully realize that this could never be,
For emptiness and memories would take the place of me.
And when I thought of worldly things I might miss come tomorrow
I thought of you, and when I did, my heart was filled with sorrow.
But when I walked through Heaven's Gate I felt so much at home
When God looked down and smiled at me from His great golden throne.
He said, "This is eternity, and all I've promised you.
Today your life on earth is past, but here it starts anew.
I promise no tomorrow, but today will always last,
And since each day's the same day, there's no longing for the past.
But you have been so faithful, so trusting and so true,
Though there were times you did some things you knew you shouldn't do.
But you have been forgiven, and now at last you're free.
So won't you take my hand and share my life with me?"
So when tomorrow starts without me, don't think we're far apart,
For every time you think of me, I'm right here in your heart.

About this poem:
Shortly after I lost Momma I was online going through poetry pages and I came across this. The poem itself is amazing but it was the picture behind it. It could have been the farm I grew up on ... the lake, the little island everything was perfect. Shivers went up and down my spine and I knew Momma was still with me. I have kept a copy of this with me ever since and shared it with many who have have needed it.

the 26 angels

We let down our guards, in these uncertain times.
20 little angels, gentle, meek & mild.
full of such promise, and so full of life.
a vision of innocense, taken & lost in our precious sight.
6 guardian angels, wings opened wide. shielding with love
unafraid to risk life.
teardrops of sorrow, now fill the sky. The rainstorm continues,
for the ones left behind.
A heavy heart we carry, a nation outpours mourns of why?
together as one we falter, please hear our cry....
