The Specimen

I am truly an Amazing Failure.
I am a creature of habit.
I try and try again and again
only to end up right where I started it.
If Only I were that lucky.

My heart goes out
like a bird from a cage
with a busted lock
random curiosity is its sage
seeking what it sees to find out more

But what it sees it does not like.
It has been burnt
scorned
trampled.
Caught by a cat looking for the same things

But why did this bird
not see it coming like a freight train?
Let's take a look
Here's some remains.
Let's probe through his brain.

He wasn't looking where he was flying
poor thing
His vision deluded by what his mind told him he saw.
Until
it was too late, of course.

He saw the terrible truth
he saw for himself
his curiosity betrayed him
He was hit by a shelf
or something just as heavy.

No one told the bird where to go
no one to help him, no one to hold him
No one to guide him through right and wrong
No one to listen to his beautiful song
He died under the pressure and gravity of the Sun.

Now ordinarily, this would not have done him in.
He's a hardy specimen.
But coupled with his fated flight
are sores of an earlier fight
one, perhaps several, which were never resolved quite right.

About this poem:
Two parter! I'm sorry so many of my poems are divided, but the 3000 character limit is highly restrictive to my works!

Until we meet again

I picked a rose from the garden,
And I placed it in your hand,
I touched your face, a last embrace,
To help me understand,
Then I said goodbye, a tear, a sigh,
and I turned and walked away,
And though you're gone, it won't be long,
till we meet another day.

Just Simpily Letting Go

Goodbye my friend. It hurts to let you go.
But with the pain it is best I know.
Life will never be the same.
Your print is on me like a name.
Days will not be as bright
For you were my loving light.
I wish I could change and make it all right.
But instead I must say good bye and good night.

Do you know?

Did you hear me whisper in your ear, did you
feel me wipe away that tear, did you see the
flower bow down for you, did you notice the sun
came shining through, did you know I held you
by the hand, as you walked along that lonesome
strand, did you feel me there as you walked on,
do you know I'm here, that I'm not gone,
do you know I walk with you every day, that I kiss
you softly as you pray, do you know that when
the day arrives, when you leave this place where
we lived our lives, when you take the journey
up above, I'll be waiting there, to hold, to love.

My Full Moon

My scars blemish
daring thongs prick my innocent flesh
anguish stares me without sympathy
i wish you know how i feel

My heart experience it's darkest moment
sorrow whips me this hour
you were life's brightest comet
the lily that outshown every other flower

But i saw you yesterday
radiating life like a nightingale
now tears cascade my sleek cheeks
with thoughts i can never relinguish

I wish for a last embrace
still you left me without a trace
stroking my scroll with the deepest regret
i reminisce your past from my heart's depth

You were an epitome of joy
a lake from the purest of waters
no doubt you were my full moon
but your light went out too soon.

Black Saturday - A Tribute

As a nation we watched with bated breath
Mourning all those who could not escape death
Saddened by the enormity of the damage
Australia stood still as the Victorian fires savaged
All Australian's watched and prayed
As lives and homes were lost to Black Saturday
Your loss, your pain, burning embers in our hearts
The wildfire so fierce tearing families apart
We watched helplessly as your homes were taken
Australian's nationwide felt their duty awaken
We will do anything to get you back to your lives
Unity in disaster is the message underlined

About this poem:
This poem is about the Black Saturday Victorian bushfires. I remember watching the news with tears as the fatalities rose every day. I was impressed with the effort that all of the country put in with donations and support.

if only

i see your face, your eyes gaze
and know there's a heart just below
that's broken beyond any
words that i can key here
the downturn of lips and
slant of wrinkled eyes
furrowed with sorrow says
all that your heart can muster
to pump up your flushed cheeks
against the realities of loss
with futures uncertain except for
the loss of the past...
fresh, wet, blurry, as
near as self is to self
if only i could wipe your soul
like a pair of grimy glasses
with a fresh handkerchief and
gingerly slide it before your eyes
so tomorrow came with colored clarity
time...time...only time will show you

To Despair

My life is a barren and arid land
no trees or bloom interrupt its grey monotony
no water falls except the scalding intensity of my tears
there is no warmth except the dry bare heat of anger
no light shines to break the clouds of disappointment
regret and misunderstanding dully, dutifully trail after me
fear stalks me continually, hackles raised, teeth barred
love cannot take root for the sun never shines
you say, seek your star but it does not shine in my sky
when I seek answers only questions are born
only silence answers when I ask,
Shaantii shaantii why do you elude me?

EFFECTS OF BUSH WAR IN ANGOLA 1980's

"In the darkness many times I cried,
and all I did was sighed;
And from the miseries of war,
a piece of my heart ripped to the core.

Now my blue eyes hides the sadness,
and as I stepped back home off the plane,
I see my family stand there with gladness;
I didn't know if i was still the same?

Angola?Namibia heat so intense, the sand so white,
We as soldiers barely dressed in summer gear;
I wear my sunglasses to shade the light,
hoping nobody would hear my heart tear.

After the war, I didn't even know my name;
this bloody war was just a game;
We the chess pawns 'they' moved around,
all the while listening to all the rounds.

It feels like my life was over,
but it's only now beginning;
Trying to make sense of life's owner;
At last I begin to mend my life song and sing."

I aways remember When I made the last cup of tea for him
I always rememebr When I was beside him and he sew me a thing not someone that he really know
When I was little girl I really liked playing outside with my friends .
Oneday my father came to me while I was playing as usual and asked me to go with him to buy some candes .
While we were walking to the candaes shop ,It started raining and my father cover me with his long jacket and he took me to the candes shop and when we had bought the candes befor we hidding out from the shop he open his jacket agian to cover me to not get wet

Oneday while I was watching tv my father seemed to be very tired when i aske him "DAD are you Ok?" he said "yeah I'm ok"
and he went to his room while he was going to his room I was following him I don't know why I was doing that It was like some one told me follow him
I asked him Dad I think you want A cup of tea am I right ? he said Ok
I went to the kitchen and there is somthing told me go to your father room

I kissed his forhead as respict he was looking at me like I'm a stranger
and he was looking to the wall sometimes to the window
and he look at me and asked me where is Sarah ? where is Sarah

the only thing is making me not to cry once while we were having lunch we sew very white steam was flying btween my brother and I and the funny thing we were laughing at it becosue we knew that was my father was happy seeing us gathering again
